Force Feed Friday: The Conductor’s Plays at Santa Anita Park

We had one nice 5/1 winner yesterday, but the lock came in 2nd and we couldn’t get any other prices home.  Not a great day, but now the Conductor can take the train back to home base.  The Conductor is going to eat Santa Anita for lunch and then go on another bender this weekend.  Let’s ride.

#1 Smart Rachel (5/2) – The Conductor loves her steady progression and she couldn’t have won easier in her last start.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Shanghai Billy (8/1) – He has good early speed and drops to the claiming ranks for the first time.  That’s always a dangerous recipe.

#6 Drift Away (6/1) – This group has been running similar figures, but she’s been running them against the best competition.

Race 5: 6 ½ Furlongs. Clm 25000

#3 Denman’s Call (3/1) – He’s rounding into form and is a former Grade 1 winner.  This one might be a little awkward for Frank Mirahmadi to call.

Race 6: 1 Mile. Mdn 55k

*Friday Night Bottle Service Lock of the Day #6 Omaha Beach (9/5) – He’s just missed by a neck and a nose in his last two starts. The Conductor sees him graduating today.

Race 7: 6 ½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.OC 625000n2x

#6 Travieza (7/2) – Dropping out of Grade 3 company, her win two starts back down the hill beats this field.  She’ll finish 2nd at worst today.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. S.Alw 57000n2x

#5 Minoso (5/1) – This boy looks like he’s turned a corner in his last two starts, running two strong races.  He’s in career form while many of the rest are coming off layoffs.

Race 9: 6 ½ Furlongs (Turf) S.Mdn 55k

#2 Vezuchiy (4/1) – The Conductor likes his workout pattern and this field is ripe for a 1st time starter.  Rosario is also getting the hang of So Cal very quickly.
