Chalky day at Belmont yesterday, but the Conductor had a few nice prices underneath and the 5/2 lock of the day winner didn’t hurt. Memorial Day weekend is here, time to feast. Let’s Ride.
Race 1: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) MC 40000
(Scratched Sad) #1 El Fenomeno (10/1) – This gelding has shown the best early speed in a sprint devoid of pace. He’ll try grass for the 1st time and 3 of his dam’s 6 runners have won on the lawn. The Conductor is going for Belmont’s jugular right from the jump.
Race 2: 6 Furlongs. Clm 25000
*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 O Shea Can You See (6/1) – He’s dropping in class and loves Big Sandy. He ran a monster 2nd last start at 46/1 and will be flying late.
Race 3: 1 1/16 Mile. MC 30000
#1 Our Honor (2/1) – By default, tough to like anyone in this group.
Race 4: 1 1/16 Mile. Clm 400002nL
*Never a Doubt Start of Summer Lock of the Day #8 Stock Trade (8/5) – His C race would still get the job done in this spot.
Race 5: 1 1/16 Mile. S.MC 25000
#6 Ridolfo (4/1) – He ran a good 2nd at this level last time in his 1st try stretching out. The Conductor will bet he’s better going longer.
Race 6: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) F.OC 62500n2x
#9 Sweet Bye Bye (4/1) – She has by far the most talent in the field. It’s her 1st start off a long layoff, but if she’s over 3/1 the Conductor will back her.
Race 7: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) F.S.Alw 66000n1x
#7 Shady Shady Shady (6/1) – 2nd off the layoff, this filly is dangerous. You don’t win at toga by open lengths without talent.
Race 8: 1 1/8 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.Alw 82000n1x
#6 Too Cool to Dance (5/2) – Chad Brown.
Race 9: 7 Furlongs. F.S.MC 40000
#2 Kris d’Oro (9/5) – The Conductor doesn’t like anyone in here.
