2nds at short prices didn’t get the job done yesterday for the Conductor. The most beautiful Saturday thus far this year has the Conductor fired up for today though. Time to cash tickets, drink stews and tear apart fairways. In that order! Let’s Ride.
Race 1: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) Mdn 100k
#5 How Is (7/2) – If your going to try to beat the heavily favored Wesley Ward runners, this is the colt for you. Trainer Phillip Gleaves has surprised with two bombs winning on debut recently.
Race 2: 6½ Furlongs. Clm 20000n3L
#6 Tale of Mist (3/1) – 2nd off the layoff he drops in class and looks to get a perfect stalking trip. The Conductor will key him in the exacta.
Race 3: 6 Furlongs. S.MC 25000
*Never a Doubt Free Square Lock of the Day #5 Bustin Match Four (1/1) – If this boy ran backwards he would still beat this group.
Race 4: 1 1/16 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.Clm 30000n2L
#5 Hand Rail (6/1) – The Conductor isn’t sure where her last race came from, but it gives her every chance vs weaker today.
Race 5: 7 Furlongs. F.Alw 50000s
#3 Ruvies in Time (12/1) – This filly took a huge step forward with her win last start and will now be running 2nd off the layoff. The Conductor will bet it wasn’t a fluke at that price.
Race 6: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) F.Alw 82000n1x
#1 Moravia (6/1) – She’s the price the Conductor will key in the exacta. Her European form is solid, and she was very rank in her first start in America. She’ll improve off that effort.
Race 7: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) F.S.Mdn 62k
#4 Riot (12/1) – She was well bet in her debut but hit the gate at the start and didn’t run a step. She adds blinkers today and will try the grass for strong connections. She has a lot of upside.
Race 8: 6½ Furlongs. F.S.Mdn 62k
#3 Tossup (5/2) – The layoff is a concern, but her last race a Saratoga makes her the one to beat.
Race 9: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) 100K Paradise Creek Stakes
#7 Mucho (3/1) – Bred to be better on the grass, this colt showed real ability on the dirt as a 2-year-old.
Race 10: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) OC 62500n2x
*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 Mai Ty One On (15/1) – He got really good last fall and if Castellano is taking the mount off the layoff, he’s live.
