Well the Ductor got a little too excited for opening day and ate punches from start to finish. Classic. We’ll take what we’ve learned and have a stronger day 2. Del Mar has a great card later and it doesn’t get better than summer racing. Skip.
Race 1: 7 Furlongs. OC 80000n2x
#4 Gun it (7/2) – This gelding ran big last time pressing a hot pace and just getting nailed at the wire. The Ductor loves him shortening to 7 furlongs here and every dirt race yesterday was won by a Churchill shipper.
Race 3: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.S.OC 45000n2x
*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Dixie Cannon (15/1) – She’s working well for a barn that can win off the bench and she’ll have an uncontested early lead. She’s proven she’s tough to catch in this scenario and her morning line seams outrageous.
Race 9: 1 Mile. (Inner Turf) G3 Forbidden Apple Stakes
#1 Rinaldi (9/2) – Its going to be tough to beat the Chad Brown runners in here, but this gelding is the clear lone speed after scratches. The rail was very good on the turf yesterday and this guy loves the tight turns at Saratoga.
