Kentucky Downs: Key Horses for Thursday, September 9
1 min read
It will be a slow few weeks for the Ductor until fall racing ramps up. Belmont, Santa Anita and Keeneland all return soon and the train will be in full throttle through the Breeders’ Cup. Until then, we’ll pick a few off at Kentucky Downs. Skip.
Race 9: 6½ Furlongs. (Turf) Global Tote Juvenile Sprint Stakes
*Gullet Shot of the Day #6 Pure Panic (6/1) – This colt won nicely on debut and ran a good 2nd vs stakes company at Saratoga in a race rained off the turf. Returning to his preferred surface today, he is very dangerous if he continues to progress.
Race 10: 1m70yds. (Turf) F.One Dreamer Stakes
#3 Alta’s Award (15/1) – This filly ran a very fast number in an easy win on dirt last time. She’s only run twice on turf in her career although she’s bred to be better on the lawn. The Ductor likes the aggressive move by Asmussen after that last effort, and she looks to get a nice trip with a quick pace to run at. She can light up this trifecta.
