Three women posing together wearing large, colorful hats at an outdoor event.

Another average day Saturday with only 3 shorter priced winners. Closing the day with a 3/1 lock did help the Conductor quite a bit.  There is no rest for the weary though, another day on the rails, another day at Del Mar. Let’s close out the betting week with a bang, Let’s Ride.

Del Mar

3:30pm ET Race 1: 6½ Furlongs. MC 50000

#6 Teddy Bear (4/1) – This is a weak field and is ripe for a 1st time starter.  His sire is 16% with 1st time starters and his dam has 3 winners from 5 runners. He’s working well and trainer Peter Miller is 22% with a +$0.86 ROI this year debuting Maiden Claimers.

4:00pm ET Race 2: 1 Mile. F.Clm 8000

#8 Honor Maker (4/1) – Whenever she runs at a mile at this class level, she runs a solid race.  There isn’t much to like in this field, but she ran a much-improved last race and looks to be rounding into form.

4:30pm ET Race 3: 5½ Furlongs. S.Mdn 53k

#6 Feldspar (3/1) – Drawn well to the outside, the Conductor will give another 1st time starter a try.  She cost 180k, has sharp works, and her dam has 4 winners from 9 starters, including a stakes winner.

5:00pm ET Race 4: 7 Furlongs. MC 20000

#3 Grazeninamerica (6/1) – The debut runners train continues, with another subpar field. His sire is 18% with 1st time starters and his dam has 3 winners from 4 starters.

5:30pm ET Race 5: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) S.OC 20000n1x

#2 Old Indian Trick (6/1) – A strong win on dirt in his last start, a repeat effort on turf will make him very competitive in here.  In his lone start on turf earlier in his career, he ran a solid 3rd at a similar number at Del Mar.

6:00pm ET Race 6: 6½ Furlongs. OC 40000n1x

*Never a Doubt Sunday Scaries Preventer Lock of the Day #8 Nero (3/1) – Dropping in class out of the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes, this Baffert Runner is working like a monster.  He’s the one to beat.

Del Mar

#6 Allaboutaction (5/1) – With by far the fastest figure in this field last race, this gelding continues to improve and he should stay a nice price stepping up in class.  The Conductor loves the 8/6 exacta.

6:30pm ET Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Mdn 53k

#2 All Out (20/1) – The Conductor will key this longshot in the trifecta.  285k at auction and well-bred for turf for top connections, that’s the type of bomb the Conductor can get behind.

7:00pm ET Race 8: 7 Furlongs. S.100K Cary Grant Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Tough But Nice (12/1) – With the favorites off layoffs or coming off poor performances, this is a race to take a shot.  He’s in good form and has competitive figs over this Del Mar surface.  The Conductor will key him in the exacta and tri.

Del Mar

7:30pm ET Race 9: 1 Mile (Turf) Mdn. 53k

#8 Ostini (8/1) – Well-bred for turf, the Conductor loves a good clipping to wake a maiden up.  He has talent and will show his best today.
