Keeneland: Key Horses for Saturday, October 9

Horses and jockeys lined up at the starting gate at Keeneland Racecourse during a race.

Inside speed dominated opening day on dirt as it often does at Keeneland, so pay attention early today. Beautiful card with salty stakes. Keep your head on a swivel and strike when Keeneland drops it’s gloves. Skip.

Keeneland Race 6: 5½ Furlongs. (Turf) G2 Woodford Stakes

#3 Inhalation (30/1) – The Ductor is against Golden Pal, who will likely be 2/5 in this spot. He’s returning from a clunker across the pond and isn’t much faster than the field. This gelding is taking a big step up in class, but he is improving and has talent. He could not have won easier last time after missing the break then circling the field without being asked. The Ductor likes #7 County Final (5/1) here as well.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. F.G2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes

#4 Estilo Talentoso (5/2) – She’s been running well against the best competition and lost all chance after a poor start last time. She dead heated for 2nd with the heavy favorite #7 Bell’s the One in the Madison this spring and she’ll be 3x the price at least.

Race 8: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.G1 First Lady Stakes

#10 Princess Grace (6/1) – This is a very competitive field and there are many ways you can go. This filly continues to win no matter where she runs and now steps up to face the big girls. She has enough early speed to put herself in good position going into the first turn and the Ductor thinks she may go off higher than the morning line. The other top contenders are #3 Altiqua (7/2) and #9 Blowout (8/1).

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. G1 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 American Sanctuary (12/1) – This colt rolled by his competition in his first race stretching out last time and then completely lost focus in the stretch. He thought the race was over and then re-rallied when he was passed late. With more experience and the whip today, the Ductor thinks he is very dangerous.

Race 10: 1 Mile. (Turf) G1 Keeneland Turf Mile Stakes

#4 Space Traveller (6/1) – He’s run well in his two starts in America, including a very good 2nd last time against the race flow. He beat Raging Bull, who would be a favorite in here and he looks to get a good trip today, drawn to the inside.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Sunday, May 16

Dynamic image of thoroughbred horses racing on a grassy track, showcasing multiple jockeys in colorful silks during a competitive event.

Great Saturday for the Ductor, hope you passengers cashed a few tickets. The late half of todays Belmont card looks enticing. Skip is learning a very valuable lesson today. You never rest on your laurels, when you’re seeing the ball this well, you pounce and you pounce hard. When we’re up, we press. Skip!

Race 4: 6½ Furlongs. Clm 30000n2L

#1 Colormepazzi (4/1) – He ran very well last time at Belmont setting a hot pace while taking pressure. Turning back to a sprint today, 4/1 would be a treat.

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Alw 50000s

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Rising Bella (12/1) – She ran better than it looks last time after a slow start and 5 furlongs is too short for her. With a troubled trip two back as well, her form is muddied and the price will be right today. She’s been heavily bet in each start and the Klesaris barn we’ll see what she is really made of today.

Belmont Park

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) S.OC 45000n2x

#4 Steam Engine (10/1) – Very interesting Broberg moves this gelding to the turf 1st off the claim. His figures on dirt translate to a win here and he’ll be the lone speed. The turf is a question, but if he’s close to the morning line the Ductor will take a swing.

Pimlico: Preakness Day Key Horses

A horse with a rider approaching the Preakness Stakes venue, with construction equipment in the background.

A Gullet Shot a Day, keeps the landlord away. Speed and the rail were golden yesterday at Pimlico, something to keep an eye on today. We have have them right where we want them heading into Preakness Day. Time to pounce! Skip!

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. F.Runhappy Skipat Stakes

#8 French Empire (3/1) – This mare is steadily progressing, running very fast numbers and is now in the Cox barn. She’s working bullets entering today and looks to get a perfect stalking trip with a nice outside draw.

Race 10: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) Turf Sprint100K

#11 Firecrow (10/1)#4 The Critical Way (5/2) is the most likely winner, but the Ductor thinks this gelding is very dangerous at a price. He has wicked early speed and has been facing graded stakes winners on dirt. Switching to turf here, he’s lightly raced on the lawn, but has proven he can run well on it and the shorter distance today will help his cause as well.

Race 11: 6 Furlongs. G3 Maryland Sprint

#7 Breezy Dust (6/1) – Stepping up in class and shipping in from Parx, this gelding fits on numbers and he has the speed to get the lead early. He’s very dangerous, especially shortening to 6 furlongs today.

#2 Yodel E. A. Who (8/1) – If the closers have a chance today, the Conductor likes this gelding. The pace in this race could heat up and he has a strong late kick. He’ll likely be an overlay without big name connections too.

Race 12: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) G2 Dinner Party Stakes

#1 Somelikeithotbrown (4/1) – When this horse is on the lead, he’s tough to pass in the stretch. He looks to get a favorable trip here, without much early pressure. The Chad Brown runners, #3 Kuramata (6/1) and #5 Sacred Life (7/5) will be tough to beat, but over bet. #2 English Bee (8/1) is the only other Contender in the Ductor’s opinion.

Race 13: 1 3/16 Mile. Preaknes-G1 Preakness Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Crowded Trade (10/1) – The Conductor has lost so much sleep trying to figure out how this Preakness plays out with Concert Tour (5/2) and #3 Medina Spirit (9/5) entered. He’s come to the conclusion that they are going to send #5 Midnight Bourbon (5/1) regardless after his heinous ride in the Derby, and that should compromise all 3. Crowded Trade has shown talent his young career and he should sit the perfect trip right behind the speed. Chad has pulled this move before, and the Conductor sees a monster effort upcoming. The Conductor will be using #6 Rombaur (12/1) as a backup, who should sit a similar trip as well.

Santa Anita Park: Key Horses for Sunday, February 14

Two horses with riders training on a racetrack surrounded by mountains and trees, showcasing equestrian activity in a natural setting.

3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 7th yesterday for the Conductor at the Fair Grounds. Very frustrating. Back out to Santa Anita for a rebound Sunday. Let’s Ride.

3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 7th yesterday for the Conductor at the Fair Grounds. Very frustrating. Back out west for a rebound Sunday. Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 5½ Furlongs. F.MC 20000

#3 Sugar Moon (30/1) – Call the Conductor looney tunes, but this bomb intrigues him. 1st off the claim for Val Brinkerhoff, this filly moves into a barn that can win for the first time in her career. Adding blinkers and Lasix 2nd off the layoff, she has early speed which makes her dangerous in a wide-open race. The Conductor is strongly against the favorite in here #8 Wicks and Chappies (6/5) after failing to get it done with a perfect trip at Santa Anita last time.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) F.G3 Sweet Life Stakes

#9 Majestic Steps (7/2) – She was very impressive breaking her maiden last time while being rank. Making her 2nd start in North America today, she should step forward.

Race 9: 1 1/8 Mile. (Turf) S.Mdn 61k

*Gullet Shot of the Day #3 Big Frank Da Tank (15/1) – He ran a decent 3rd last time at Santa Anita and looks like one that will improve with added distance. It is interesting that Prat rode him last time for such a small barn and he’s working well entering today. C’mon Tank! Skip!

Gulfstream Park: Key Horses for Wednesday January 6

Aerial view showcasing a racing venue with adjacent commercial buildings, palm trees, and a large body of water in the background.

It would have been a hell of a Sunday if that single gets home for the Ductor….The game we play. Back to Gulfstream to start the racing week. Skip.

Race 4: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Clm 50000

#8 Financial System (12/1) – Dropping in class, and switching back to his best distance and surface, this old man looks to get a beautiful trip here. The race is loaded with need the lead types and he should get pace to run at.

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. F.S.Alw 40000n1x

#2 Dem a Wonder (7/2) – She finally broke thru last time at Gulfstream in a romp after running a number of races good enough to win. She should run even better with Lasix and added confidence today.

Race 8: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 50000n2L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #3 Alejandro’s Team (12/1) – He’s become a new animal D’Angelo barn and is dropping in class in only his 2nd try on turf for him. The jockey switch to Paco means he’s ready to fire.

Gulfstream Park

Race 9: 1 Mile. OC 25000n1x

#1 Lookin At Roses (4/1) – It’s tough to lean on a closer, especially when #4 Sounion (5/2) looks to have a strong early pace edge over this field. However, this gelding has yet to run a bad race on dirt at Gulfstream and is in great form. He can really finish.

Gulfstream Park: Key Horses for Friday, December 18

Aerial view showcasing a racing venue with adjacent commercial buildings, palm trees, and a large body of water in the background.

No bueno yesterday. Bounce back day today at Gulfstream Park then up to Los Alamitos to take down the pick 6 carryover. Big day, Let’s Ride.

Race 7: 1 Mile. Mdn 47k

#1 Well Done West (9/2) – The Conductor thought he ran very well in his debut with a wide trip. He should take a big step forward in his 2nd career start.

Race 8: 1 Mile. (Turf) OClm 50000

#9 Thinkaboutit (8/1) – Stretching out to a route and trying turf for the first time, this colt is dangerous. Plesa has a positive ROI with this move and this boy has good early speed in a race without much pace.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.OC 62500n2x

#5 Golden Curl (12/1) – Ignore he last race taken off the turf, her win two back at Churchill was very strong. The Conductor likes her versatility and will key her in the exacta and tri at a nice price.

Race 10: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 12500n2L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 Leo’s Diamond (15/1) – She showed talent in her debut at Gulfstream Park and its been difficult for her to stay on the racetrack since. In her two efforts this fall, she didn’t run terribly with tough trips and she’ll be facing weaker today. Saez takes the mount for a small, high % barn as well.

Aqueduct: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Sunday, December 6

Horses competing in a race at Aqueduct Racetrack with jockeys in colorful silks.

Not a great Saturday for the Conductor, as True Timber will continue to haunt his dreams. Hopefully you passengers were able to make a few bucks on the #Gullet Shot of the Day running 3rd at 50/1 in Race 8. Big Sunday at Aqueduct to close out the weekend. Skip!

Race 5: 1 Mile. S.OC 40000n x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #6 Klickitat (8/1) – This gelding intrigues the Conductor trying dirt for the first time. He’s exiting a strong race, is working well over the dirt and has good early speed in a race without much pace. The Conductor will key him in the exacta.

aqueduct

Race 6: 7 Furlongs. F.New York Stallion Series Stakes

#3 Shanes Pretty Lady (6/1) – Her debut win at Aqueduct was the most impressive race in this field. She didn’t do much running off the layoff last time, but the Conductor likes that Pletcher brings her back quickly and keeps her with stakes company. She gets a rider upgrade today as well.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. F.Garland of Roses Stakes

#2 Saguaro Row (7/2) – This race looks to have a very contested early pace, which should set it up for a closer. This mare loves Aqueduct and Rosario is strong on closing sprinters.

Race 8: 7 Furlongs. S.New York Stallion Series Stakes

#7 Dreamer’s Disease (8/5) – The Conductor hates chalk, but she looks tough to beat.

Race 9: 1 Mile. F.MC 20000

#4 Kitten’s Romance (4/1) – This race hurts the Conductor’s brain. Dropping in class and switching from turf to dirt, she’s the one the Conductor likes most.

Churchill Downs: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Sunday, November 8

Thoroughbred horses racing at a derby event with spectators in the background, showcasing the excitement of horse racing.

Up and down Breeders’ Cup weekend for the Conductor. All in all, he should have capitalized more on a few more opportunities especially Audarya. Anyhow, hopefully you passengers made a few bucks and the train keeps moving. Whether its a maiden claimer at Churchill Downs or a Breeders’ Cup race, the money is still green. Skip.

Race 6: 1 Mile. (Turf) Mdn 85k

#1 Committed (12/1) – 2nd off the layoff today, he made a big wide move last time and was green down the stretch. He was flying at the finish and should step forward off of that effort. He gets a nice inside draw today as well.

Race 7: 6½ Furlongs. Clm 8000

#5 Paddy O’dini (4/1) – Dropping in class, switching from turf to dirt and posting a bullet work coming in. He smells like a Diodoro runner that wins easy.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. Clm 20000n2L

#2 Hansens Mischief (7/2) – He dueled against much tougher last time and didn’t get embarrassed. He’s very dangerous in this spot.

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.OC 100000n2x

#9 Mariafoot (10/1) – Dropping out of Grade 2 company, this filly is making her 3rd start in the US and she showed talent across the pond. She will have pace to run at in this one, which will help her chances.

Race 10: 6 Furlongs. F.Mdn 85k

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 My Mane Girl (8/1) – She was favored in her debut last year at Churchill Downs and set a hot pace after a bothered start. Her work tab suggests this filly can fly.

Churchill Downs

Belmont Park: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Sunday, October 25

Exciting horse race start at Belmont Park with multiple jockeys and horses bursting from the starting gates.

Chooooooooooo!!!!!! Chooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Wow, I am so thankful to be a passenger, you are the best Conductor! I can by so many more t-shirts with all the money you won me yesterday and now everyone will think I’m cool! I thought the Conductor was going to take the today off at Belmont to celebrate too, but he will never rest on his laurels. What a generous man, Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 1 Mile. Clm 16000n2L

The Conductor likes #8 Vitesse (7/2) best in here, but a price that intrigues him is #4 Centsmybabyleftme (12/1). Stretching out today 2nd off the layoff he’ll go right to the front and there isn’t much other speed signed on. He may be able to slip away.

Other Contenders: #3 Allied Invasion (6/1), #10 Economic Policy (2/1)

Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.MC 40000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Rapido Gatta (15/1) – Stretching out on turf for the first time, this filly ran some very strong races vs tougher on dirt last year. She ran a good 3rd sprinting last time and the Conductor will key her in the trifecta at a big number.

belmont

Other Contenders: #4 Kitten’s Romance, #5 Fly Fight Win (5/1), #8 Giggle Factory (8/1), #10 Wicked Happy (7/2), #12 Spring to Summer (6/1)

Race 8: 6½ Furlongs. OC 62500n2x

#4 High Velocity (4/1) – Cutting back to a sprint at Belmont after pressing a hot pace off a layoff, 4/1 would be glorious.

Other Contenders: #1 Last Judgement (5/2), #7 Pete’s Play Call (7/2)

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Athena Stakes

This is a wide-open race and the Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion. He’ll grit his teeth and lean on the Clement runners #2 Call Me Love (7/2) and #3 Feel Glorious (8/1)

Race 10: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) F.S.Alw 72000n1x

#5 Fresco (2/1) – Shortening back to 7 furlongs and Irad hopping aboard, he’s clearly the one to beat.

Other Contenders: #3 Data Analytics (6/1), #8 Silky Blue (4/1), #7 Monificent (12/1)

Graded Stakes Plays at Keeneland and Belmont Park

A steam locomotive being assembled in a factory with workers present around it.

The late pick 5 paid over 30k yesterday at Keeneland, that would have been nice. The Conductor was happy to have a piece of Sugoi at 23/1 though. That salvaged his day and kept the train filled with coal. Not great cards at Keeneland or Belmont today so the Conductor will take the train out west mainly. He’ll post his Golden Hour Pick 4 at Santa Anita and Golden Gate later. Let’s Ride.

Belmont Park:

Race 3: 1 1/8 Mile. (Inner Turf) G2 Knickerbocker Stakes

#4 En Wye Cee (2/1) – This improving Pletcher colt will only be making his 2nd career start on grass. The other contenders are nothing special in the Conductor’s opinion and there is absolutely no pace I the race. En Wye Cee should be able to dictate the terms on the front end and make them catch him down the stretch.

Keeneland

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) G2 Hill Prince

#7 Buy Land and See (4/1) – Stretching out from a sprint, he’ll have first run when they turn for home. The Conductor likes his works and he’s best going this distance. The exacta will be him and #3 Decorated Invador (1/1). Nothing more, nothing less.

Keeneland:

Race 8: 1½ Mile. (Turf) F.G3 Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes

#2 Blame Debbie (2/1) – She’s in good form while the others are searching for it. The Conductor like that she’s already won over the Keeneland turf this meet as well.
