New Years Eve Knockouts at Santa Anita Park

Several racehorses competing on the track at Santa Anita Park with jockeys in colorful silks.

The Conductor’s prayers were not answered yesterday, as we only had a couple of 2nds and 3rds.  Looks like the stews played a factor.  However, Santa Anita is running today and tomorrow due to the New Year and that makes the Conductor very happy.  His New Year’s resolution is to pick more winners and get all of you passengers fat and rich. What a generous man, Let’s Ride.

A racehorse with a jockey in bright colors galloping ahead during a horse race, showcasing speed and competition on the racetrack.

The Conductor had Gift Box at 6/1 yesterday, but other than that he didn’t have many great opinions.  What a day of racing though, highlighted by Mckinzie’s dominant performance in the G1 Malibu Stakes.  Obviously he couldn’t run like that when the Conductor backed him in the Breeders Cup Classic. Whatever, he train is headed down to Gulfstream today, then we’ll head back to Santa Anita for the weekend.  Let’s Ride.

Sabbath Sunday: The Conductor’s Prayers at Gulfstream Park

A stack of U.S. dollar bills engulfed in flames, illustrating a fire effect on currency.

Again, only a few short-priced winners yesterday.  If we don’t have a big today, the Conductor will have to pawn off all his Christmas gifts.  He can’t get a feel for Gulfstream Park this week, maybe he’s having too much eggnog?  Who knows, but he better figure it out quick or his family will get Venmo requests for Christmas.  We just need one pony to turn the tide, Let’s Ride.

Gulfstream Park

PT 12:00pm ET Race 1: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) MC 20000

Esophagus Shot Saturday: Gulfstream Park Plays

Large building featuring a fountain and palm trees in front, with a clear blue sky above.

Friday Night Funding: The Conductor’s Plays at Gulfstream Park

Football fan wearing a green jersey and a paper bag mask with drawn eyes and a mouth, expressing discontent.

God damn Conductor lay off the stew when your handicapping please. Yesterday may have been the Conductor’s worst performance to date.  He couldn’t find a winner if it kicked him in the teeth.  I know what he was doing though, classic bait and switch technique.  Give Gulfstream all his losers on Thursday, then double down and murder it Friday-Sunday. Genius strategy, that’s why he’s the Conductor and we’re just passengers.  Let’s Ride.

Gulfstream Park

PT 12:35 ET Race 1: 1 Mile. MC 25000

#1 Dad’s Yankees (8/1) – With two sprint races under his belt, he’s now stretching out to a route for the first time. He’s shown the best early pace figs in the group and rail has been the place to be at the meet so far. He’ll be dangerous on the front end.

Race 2: 7 Furlongs. F.OClm 25000

#7 Bargainaire (6/1) – Steadily progressing, her blowout win a few weeks ago was a very strong performance.  1st off the claim for low % connections should keep her price high enough at post.

Race 3: 1 Mile (Turf) Mdn 60k

#1 Kiing Ottokar (20/1) – This field is almost entirely untested on turf and the Conductor is hunting for a price.  This colt took some money at the windows in his debut sprinting and split the field after breaking slow.  That race came back very live and he has top connections.

Race 4: 7 Furlongs. Clm 25000

#1 The Best Candy (12/1) – The low % trainer will keep his price high, but this colt rattled off three wins in a row in the fall out of the same barn.  He drops back to a competitive class level today and will appreciate the shorter distance.

Race 5: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.MC 50000

#5 Gerry’s Big Win (4/1) – She’s taking a significant class drop and has the best early gas in the field.  Gate to wire.

*Never a Doubt T-Bond Lock of the Day #5 Go Go Jack (7/5) – Go ahead and throw your life savings on this girl if your willing to take a short price. She won’t lose, she can’t lose.

Gulfstream Park

Race 7: 1 Mile. (Turf) S.Mdn 45k

#2 Fort King (7/2) – Dropping out of open company, he set a preposterously hot pace last time out.  If he can ration his speed today he’ll be ultra tough.

Race 8: 5 ½ Furlongs. F.MC 12500

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 One’s Never Enough (15/1) – She caught a sloppy track at Gulfstream Park in her debut against tougher, but she’s been working very well on fast dirt and has solid connections.  One is never enough for the Conductor, he needs at least 7.

Gulfstream Park

Race 9: 1 Mile (Turf) S.OC 16000n1x

#5 Trumpi (8/1) – Dropping in class, he’ll appreciate the shorter distance and has been running consistently solid figures.  Any debut winner at Toga has talent.

Throat Shot Thursday: The Conductor’s Plays at Gulfstream Park

Large sculpture of a winged horse confronting a dragon, set against a blue sky.

The Conductor chirped Gulfstream Park after he had a 7/1 winner in the 4th race yesterday and then the pony gods turned on him the rest of the day.

The Conductor knows better than that, he’s dealt with the gods thousands of times, they do not look kindly upon arrogance.  Hopefully they have granted him forgiveness and we start today with a clean slate.  The Conductor is seeing winners today jump off the page, Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) OC 25000n1x

#6 Singanothersong (7/2) – This old man is nails, he wins on turf and dirt and has legit speed.  Father time will get him eventually, but today is not the day.

Race 2: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 12500n3L

#7 Nothins Free (8/1) – She improved 1st off the claim last start setting a hot pace and finishing 3rd vs tougher.  She’ll appreciate shortening a furlong as well.

Gulfstream Park

Race 3: 6 Furlongs. Clm 6250n3L

#5 Shim (2/1) – It looks like he’s going to win on paper and the Conductor laughed at his name.

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. OClm 50000

Race 5: 7 ½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.MC 20000

*Never a Doubt Christmas Shopping Refund Lock of the Day #6 Vincero (3/1) – 1st off the claim for Navarro and he’s already in the best form in the field.  Are you poor from Christmas shopping?  The Conductor demands you to put the rest of your life worth on this pony and recoup your losses.  You owe it to yourself.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #3 Heaven’s Humor (8/1) – She’s 2/2 in her career and is stretching out for the first time.  The Conductor loves that she’s shown versatility in her two wins and most of this group is trying to find its form.
