Gulfstream Park: Key Horses for Wednesday, December 30

A beautifully landscaped outdoor shopping plaza featuring palm trees, seating areas, and elegant architecture during twilight.

They should build statues saluting the Conductor after his performance at Santa Anita Saturday. 15/1, 22/1 and 6/1 winners will keep the train rolling for weeks. Back down to Gulfstream tomorrow, don’t let the pony gods up for air! We love you Conductor! Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 6½ Furlongs. F.Mdn 47k

#3 Whispering Pines (5/2) – 3^rd off the layoff and cutting back to a sprint after pressing the pace going a mile last time, she looks tough in here.

Race 7: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Clm 35000

#10 Coffee Buzz Buzz (10/1) – Stretching out and trying grass for the first time, her breeding suggests she should have no problem doing either. She showed ability in her debut at Gulfstream and is dropping in class today.

Race 8: 1 1/8 Mile. (Turf) Clm 20000n3L

#2 Convict Pike (10/1) – #6 Austrian (5/2) is the clear one to beat, but this is the price the Conductor likes most. Throw out her last race off a long layoff and off the turf. She’s run well against much tougher on grass and has a big class edge over this group.

Race 9: 1 Mile. OClm 20000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Danville (10/1) – Another race with a tough favorite in Avant Garde (2/1). This gelding has become a new animal in the Cheryl Winebaugh barn. He’s run well on multiple surfaces and his lone effort on a fast dirt track fits with this group. He looks to get a nice setup with a hot pace to run at as well.

Race 10: 7½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.Mdn 50k

#2 Cash Refund (5/1) – She ran better than it looks in her debut last time with a wide trip. She adds blinkers today and shortens in distance.

Santa Anita Park: Boxing Day Late Pick 5 Key Horses

Boxing day at Santa Anita, one of the Conductor’s favorite racing cards of the year. Round up all your Christmas gifts, head down to pawn shop and fire away! Skip!

Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. G2 San Antonio Stakes

#2 Kiss Today Goodbye (15/1) – #8 Mucho Gusto (2/1) is clearly the one to beat, but the Conductor likes this colt to outrun his odds. His win last time was visually impressive, and his race is the Shared Belief Stakes was very strong. #7 Idol (5/1) has major upside as well.

Race 8: 7 Furlongs. F.G1 La Brea Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #9 Fair Maiden (12/1) – In a race with 4 Bafferts, the Conductor is leaning towards tossing them all. This filly had a brutal trip last time at Santa Anita and looks to get a great trip today stalking a hot pace on the outside. She’s shown talent and versatility in her young career.

Race 9: 1 1/4 Mile. (Turf) F.G1 American Oaks

#8 Duopoly (4/1) – The Conductor sees this race going thru Chad Brown. This girl is the lone speed in the race and she’ll be tough to run down.

Race 10: 7 Furlongs. G1 RUNHAPPY Malibu Stakes

#6 Independence Hall (4/1) – This is a very exciting Malibu with the ultra-talented #3 Nashville (6/5) and #4 Charlatan (9/5) hooking up. The Conductor sees a scenario where those two cook each other early and set it up for a runner off the pace. This colt showed talent on the Derby trail and he won nicely in his prep last time off the layoff. He looks to get a dream trip here. Of the two big horses, the Conductor prefers #3 Nashville.

Race 11: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Lady of Shamrock Stakes

#2 Miss Extra (4/1) – The Conductor likes this filly in this spot quite a bit. Her form in France lays over this field and she was well bet in a much tougher race last time at Santa Anita. Making her 2^nd start in the US and getting Lasix for the 1^st time today, the Conductor sees her running a big one.

Gulfstream Park: Key Horses for Thursday, December 24

18-1 on Weekend Dreamer in the finale yesterday at Gulfstream is just what the Conductor ordered. Maybe his family will get presents this year after all? Let’s see what Santa has in store for us grateful passengers today. Skip!

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. F.S.MC 25000

#1 Stepping Forward (7/2) – She showed speed at Gulfstream in her debut vs tougher and is now taking a big class drop. Irad taking the mount for a barn he never rides for means she’s live.

Race 7: 1 Mile. (Turf) Alw. 16000

#10 Charge Account (8/1) – Switching back to the lawn, his race two back on the turf probably beats this field. That morning line would be a treat.

Race 8: 7 Furlongs. Clm 12500n3L

#2 Captain D (10/1) – He made a middle move into a hot pace last time at Gulfstream and now cuts back in distance and switches to dirt. He’s run fine in his limited dirt starts and will be facing his weakest competition to date.

Race 9: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.OC 16000n2x

#11 Song River (6/1) – The Conductor likes this filly turning back to a sprint. She has enough early speed to put herself in a good position early.

Race 10: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 16000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Dealer’s Girl (8/1) – She showed wicked early speed off a layoff last time and she should be able to clear this field early. She’ll be more fit today.

As of now, the Conductor is going to the dollar store for Christmas presents for his loved ones. We have two cards at Gulfstream Park to change that. Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 1 Mile. Clm 35000b

#1 Gran Omero (8/1) – The favorites look tough in here, but this is the price the Conductor likes most. He ran a huge late pace figure last time behind a runaway winner and should get a good setup today.

Race 7: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) Clm 16000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #3 Mar Vista Miguel (15/1) – He was stuck on the rail last time and should be able to clear this field today. Lone leaders are especially dangerous in turf sprints and he’ll be an overlay because of his low % jockey.

Race 8: 1 Mile. F.OC 35000n1x

#8 Perspire (20/1) – She’s working well off a long layoff for a barn that has them ready off the bench. Her figures fit with this group and she’s facing her lowest level to date. She wont be 20/1, but the Conductor will take half that.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) S.OC 16000n1x

#5 Mozo Bello (10/1) – Stretching out to route and switching to turf, he’s getting back to his best surface and distance here. Maker is 21% this year 2^nd off the claim as well.

Race 10: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) Clm 20000n2L

#12 Weekend Dreamer (20/1) – #6 French Reef (2/1) looks tough to beat, but the Conductor likes this bomb to run well. Throw out his last Gulfstream Park race on dirt with a bad start, he’s a turf sprinter with wicked early gas. If he can clear from the outside they may not catch him.

Gulfstream Park: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Sunday, December 20

Sleepy Eyes Todd put the Conductor to bed yesterday at Gulfstream park in the Mr. Prospector Stakes. However, there is always another day and another race in 20 minutes. Skip!

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. F.Mdn 50k

*Gullet Shot of the Day #9 Shannon (10/1) – She showed the Conductor something in her debut, re-rallying down the stretch. She’s classic Z pattern horse who looks to improve in her 2^nd start.

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Clm 20000n3L

#5 Helena Beat (12/1) – #9 Sky Snow (5/2) looks tough to beat, but the Conductor likes this girl at a price. She made an early move into a hot pace last time and had not shot. With a better trip today, she’s dangerous.

Race 9: 1 Mile. S.OC 12500n1x

#4 Dardanellos (8/1) – He’s returns to Gulfstream Park where he’s done his best running. Additionally, he’s fresh after a needed short break. His races prior beat this field and he’ll also be a nice price.

Race 10: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) S.OC 16000n1x

#3 The Virginian (3/1) – 2^nd off the layoff today, this gelding has an early pace edge over this field.

Race 11: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 16000n2L

#3 Mr Tito’s (30/1) – Here’s a bomb that intrigues the Conductor. He was bumped at the start last time and didn’t do much running. Prior to that effort, he was steadily progressing, and his numbers aren’t too far off from this group. He’s lightly raced and can take a big jump forward as well.

Race 6: 7½ Furlongs. (Turf) Clm 20000n3L

#3 Aycapote (10/1) – Switching to turf after a win on a sloppy track last time, he’s only tried the grass one other time in his career. He’s bred to be a turf horse and his figures fit with this group. The Conductor thinks he can knock out a bunch of tickets early.

Other Contenders: #4 Hero Up (30/1), #5 Dillon Rocks (5/1), #10 Conforto (2/1)

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. F.OC 25000n1x

#1 Hallawallah (6/1) – This filly showed talent last year and has struggled staying healthy. Working well for a new barn, she has the most upside in the field. Trainer Juan Avila is 19% with a +$4.71 ROI this year with runners off the bench.

Other Contenders: #5 Sonar (5/1), #7 Gerri B (3/1)

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) OC 62500n2x

#4 Kingmeister (6/1) – He’s shown he can run on turf and dirt in his young career and he’s working well off a short break. His allowance win at Saratoga was very impressive and the Conductor thinks he has major upside.

Race 9: 1 3/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Via Borghese Stakes

#6 Cambeliza (8/1) – Draw a line thru her last race at Gulfstream on yielding turf. She ran a monster late pace figure at Keeneland two back and will get firm turf again today.

Other Contenders: #2 Traipsing (7/2), #3 Court Return (6/1), #4 Cap de Creus (10/1), #8 Always Shopping (5/2), #9 Great Island (3/1).

Race 10: 7 Furlongs. G3 Mr. Prospector Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #12 Mind Control (15/1) – Posting a bullet work entering today, his form this spring would make him the favorite in here. The Conductor sees him cycling back to a top effort here.

Other Contenders: #2 Cool Arrow (12/1), #7 Diamond Oops (3/1), #9 Firenze Fire (5/2)

Race 11: 1 Mile. (Turf) Mdn 50k

#4 He’spuregold (10/1) – The Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion in here, but liked this colt’s debut effort at Keeneland. He made an early move into a hot pace and should step forward today.

No bueno yesterday. Bounce back day today at Gulfstream Park then up to Los Alamitos to take down the pick 6 carryover. Big day, Let’s Ride.

Race 7: 1 Mile. Mdn 47k

#1 Well Done West (9/2) – The Conductor thought he ran very well in his debut with a wide trip. He should take a big step forward in his 2^nd career start.

Race 8: 1 Mile. (Turf) OClm 50000

#9 Thinkaboutit (8/1) – Stretching out to a route and trying turf for the first time, this colt is dangerous. Plesa has a positive ROI with this move and this boy has good early speed in a race without much pace.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.OC 62500n2x

#5 Golden Curl (12/1) – Ignore he last race taken off the turf, her win two back at Churchill was very strong. The Conductor likes her versatility and will key her in the exacta and tri at a nice price.

Race 10: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 12500n2L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 Leo’s Diamond (15/1) – She showed talent in her debut at Gulfstream Park and its been difficult for her to stay on the racetrack since. In her two efforts this fall, she didn’t run terribly with tough trips and she’ll be facing weaker today. Saez takes the mount for a small, high % barn as well.

A few short prices yesterday, but we need ones with more meat on the bone. No need to worry about snow at Gulfstream Park Let’s Ride.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. Mdn 47k

#3 Egyptologist (4/1) – The Conductor likes this colt’s work tab and trainer Patrick Biancone can get them ready first out. He’s 17% with a +$1.55 ROI this year debuting runners at this level.

Race 8: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) Clm 35000b

*Gullet Shot of the Day #3 Pagliacci (6/1) – This colt went off form last year. However, he’s had time off and is working bullets entering today. He’s taking a big class drop here and has multiple races that can beat this group. Saez hops aboard as well.

Race 9: 1 ½ Miles. (Turf) OC 20000

#7 Morning Stride (5/2) – Dropping out of the Sycamore Stakes, he’s facing much weaker today and is a hard knocker proven at the distance.

Race 10: 1 Mile. Clm 6250n3L

#1 Superhighway (4/1) – He had a tough trip in the slop last time at Gulfstream Park, but his win prior was very impressive. He’s proven on a fast track as well and looks to get a good trip in a race without much pace.

#6 Atakan (20/1) – He wired the field two back in one of his few dirt starts and is dropping out of a tougher turf race today. There isn’t any pace in this race and he may find himself on the lead again Saez also takes the mount for a small barn he never rides for.

Race 6: 7½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.MC 20000

#3 Our West Indy (6/1) – Stretching out and switching back to turf, she has good early speed and has been well backed in each start. The Conductor also likes that Paco hops aboard.

Race 7: 1 Mile. (Turf) OC 25000n2x

#3 Our Hoisted Mast (5/2) – Dropping out of stakes company, the Conductor sees him circling back to his race at Colonial Downs. If that occurs, he wins.

Race 8: 1 Mile. F.OClm 50000

Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Shiny Empire (6/1) – She got a favorable trip last time at Gulfstream setting a slow pace, but she got the job done. The Conductor was impressed by her race in the slop two back and likes her steady progression.

Race 9: 7½ Furlongs. (Turf) OC 75000b

#4 Social Paranoia (2/1) – He ran a huge late pace figure last time in the Poker Stakes. He dominated that group and this is a much weaker field. He’s working well for top connections as well.

Race 10: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.MC 50000

#11 Secrets Kept (12/1) – Going two sprints to a route and dropping in class, she has enough early speed to put herself in a good position early. She ran well in both her career starts and looks like she’ll improve with the added distance. Additionally, Kimmel is 11% with a +$2.27 ROI this year stretching horses out for the first time.

Aqueduct: Late Pick 4 Key Horses for Sunday, December 13

#3 Cartwheel (9/2) – Taking a big drop in class here, there is absolutely no early speed in this race. She does her best running on the lead and if she’s forwardly placed, she’ll have every chance.

Race 7: 1 Mile. Clm 16000

*Atom Bomb Whack of the Day #5 Brush Country (30/1) – #9 Flowers for Lisa (5/2) is probably the one to beat, but the Conductor will be keying this bomb in the exacta and tri. Dropping in class and stretching out to a route for the first time in a long time, he has numbers that fit for this level. He will be forwardly placed and will be an overlay because of his low % trainer.

Race 8: 1 Mile. F.OC 62500n2x

#5 Daphne Moon (2/1) – She showed talent as a two-year-old and ran a good 2^nd witha strong late pace figure last time off the bench at Aqueduct. 2^nd off the layoff today, the Conductor thinks she’ll handle this field.

Aqueduct Race 9: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 16000n2L

#1 Well Brush Mytooth (8/1) – The Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion in here, but this girl ran well off the layoff last time and should step forward today. She looks to get a favorable trip as well, up close to a moderate pace.
