Race 7: 6½ Furlongs. S.Alw 72000n1x

#4 Jerry Nipper (5/2) – Bullet works at Belmont off the layoff for Pletcher, he smells like one that runs off the screen.

#7 Troubleshooter (15/1) – 2nd off the layoff and cutting back to a sprint after a nice win last time, he looks to get a nice trip and has upside.

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Inner Turf) Awad Stakes

*#9 Heat of the Night (10/1) – Dropping out of a Grade 1 race where he had a troubled trip, this gelding has talent and should be a fair price.

#2 Share the Ride (5/2) – He has an early pace advantage over this group. He’s the one to beat.

*#4 Arch Cat (10/1) – Far back behind a slow pace last time at Belmont, the Conductor will forgive that effort. He loves to win and his figures fit with this group. Anything close to 10/1 would get the Conductor tingly.

Belmont Park

Race 10: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.S.MC 40000

#7 Let Artie (15/1) – She’s bred for the lawn and this trainer can hit with big prices on debut. She’s working well at Belmont and Cancel has been riding his best.

Churchill Downs

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. OC 150000b

#2 Fact Finding (4/1) – This old man is in great form and will get the early lead. He has a major chance to take them all the way around.

Race 10: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.MC 50000

Race 8: 6½ Furlongs. OC 62500n2x

*Force Feed Friday Play of the Day #9 Night Time (8/1) – He got cooked in a hot pace last time, but he should get a favorable trip today alone on the lead. The Conductor loves him the more he thinks about it.

Churchill Downs

Race 9: 1 1/8 Mile. OC 80000n3x

#5 Silver Prospector (3/1) – Making his first start since the Arkansas Derby, this colt’s work tab shows he’s ready to fire.

#8 Lord Dragon (8/1) – A backup that intrigues the Conductor, he’s run some big numbers since entering the Diodoro barn (shocker). He looks to get a nice stalking trip as well.

Race 10: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Mdn 85k

#2 Queen of the Green (4/1) – She ran a huge debut from the 12 hole last time at Churchill Downs. You won’t see many horses that wide all the way around run 2nd on turf.

#4 Saranya (7/2) – The Conductor needs to use two in here. She was very green in her debut, but you could see the talent oozing out of her skin.

Belmont Park: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Thursday, October 29

Race 6: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) MC 40000

#8 Mokoto (8/1) – Shipping in from Parx, his figures fit with this group and shortening a furlong will help him. The Conductor likes that Saez takes the mount for a barn he never rides for as well.

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. F.Mdn 80k

#1 Malibu Anthem (8/1) – Anyone can win in this 6-horse field including the longest shot on the board. She had a brutal trip last time and is cutting back to a sprint and switching to dirt today. She’s proven she can run on dirt, gets a rider upgrade, adds blinkers and will be fit 2nd off the layoff.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) OC 80000b

*Throat Shot of the Day #3 White Flag (8/1) – Ignore his last race on synthetic, he switches back to sprinting on the turf today where he runs his best. He’s 4/8 lifetime at Belmont and has serious back class. 8/1 would be an delicious overlay.

Belmont Park

Race 6: 1 1/16 Mile. Alw 87000n1x

#5 Alex Joon (9/2) – Coming off a year layoff, they jogged him around the track last time. He’s stretching out to a route today and has been working his eyeballs out. With the talent he showed in his maiden breaker, the Conductor sees him firing a big effort.

Race 7: 5½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.Mdn 85k

#1 Train to Artemus (4/1) – She ran very well in her debut, setting a hot pace and holding on for 3rd. Shortening to 5 ½ furlongs will make her tough to beat if she can break cleanly from the rail.

Race 8: 6½ Furlongs. F.OC 62500n2x

#3 Club Car (2/1) – The Conductor doesn’t love anyone and in here, but this filly is the most likely winner after that last effort at Keeneland.

Race 9: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) Alw 87000n1x

#7 Fortuity (10/1) – This colt is steadily progressing and gets better the further he goes. He has the best late pace figures in the field.

Race 10: 1 Mile. Clm 10000b

#12 Uncle Gregory (8/1) – Dropping in class at Churchill today, he ran ok vs a much tougher group at Keeneland last time. The shorter distance will also help his cause.

Churchill Downs: Key Horses for Wednesday, October 28

Large crowd of spectators at the Kentucky Derby event at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

The train will be stopping at Churchill and Belmont this week leading up to the Breeders’ Cup. Full breakdowns of the BC races will be dropping over the next week as well. The Conductor has a nice lump of coal from Collegeville Girl at 23/1 Saturday, Let’s keep building, Skip.

Race 6: 6½ Furlongs. Clm 50000b

#1 High Proof (10/1) – Taking a big drop in class today, he bobbled at the start and didn’t run a step last time. His prior numbers fit with this group and more importantly this race has no other speed. He’s adding blinkers and they’ll send him from the rail. He has a chance to steal it or hang on for a piece on the front end.

Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Mdn 85k

#5 Majestic Summer (7/2) – Stretching out for the first time, he closed well into a slow pace sprinting in his debut. He looks to get a good trip in here up close to a moderate pace at best.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. MC 30000

*Windpipe Whack Wednesday Play of the Day #6 Motown Music (15/1) – He showed initial speed out of the gate, then was wrangled back and did some running plate in his Churchill debut. He’s dropping in class today, getting a rider upgrade and posted a solid last work. The Conductor is praying he stays a big price.

churchill downs

Race 9: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) F.Alw 87000n1x

#4 Sursum Corda (9/2), War Like Goddess (6/1) – Both these fillies ran huge late pace figures closing into slow paces last time. The added distance today will help their chances.

Race 10: 1 Mile. Clm 8000n2L

#6 Drink (9/5) – Shortening in distance after pressing a hot pace vs tougher last time, he should have no problem beating this group. Pour yourself a strong stew and single in the nightcap.

Belmont Park: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Sunday, October 25

Exciting horse race start at Belmont Park with multiple jockeys and horses bursting from the starting gates.

Chooooooooooo!!!!!! Chooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Wow, I am so thankful to be a passenger, you are the best Conductor! I can by so many more t-shirts with all the money you won me yesterday and now everyone will think I’m cool! I thought the Conductor was going to take the today off at Belmont to celebrate too, but he will never rest on his laurels. What a generous man, Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 1 Mile. Clm 16000n2L

The Conductor likes #8 Vitesse (7/2) best in here, but a price that intrigues him is #4 Centsmybabyleftme (12/1). Stretching out today 2nd off the layoff he’ll go right to the front and there isn’t much other speed signed on. He may be able to slip away.

Other Contenders: #3 Allied Invasion (6/1), #10 Economic Policy (2/1)

Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.MC 40000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Rapido Gatta (15/1) – Stretching out on turf for the first time, this filly ran some very strong races vs tougher on dirt last year. She ran a good 3rd sprinting last time and the Conductor will key her in the trifecta at a big number.

belmont

Other Contenders: #4 Kitten’s Romance, #5 Fly Fight Win (5/1), #8 Giggle Factory (8/1), #10 Wicked Happy (7/2), #12 Spring to Summer (6/1)

Race 8: 6½ Furlongs. OC 62500n2x

#4 High Velocity (4/1) – Cutting back to a sprint at Belmont after pressing a hot pace off a layoff, 4/1 would be glorious.

Other Contenders: #1 Last Judgement (5/2), #7 Pete’s Play Call (7/2)

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Athena Stakes

This is a wide-open race and the Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion. He’ll grit his teeth and lean on the Clement runners #2 Call Me Love (7/2) and #3 Feel Glorious (8/1)

Race 10: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) F.S.Alw 72000n1x

#5 Fresco (2/1) – Shortening back to 7 furlongs and Irad hopping aboard, he’s clearly the one to beat.

Empire Showcase Day Late Pick 5 for Saturday, October 24

Three racehorses competing on a dirt track at Belmont Park during a horse race.

The needed Mopolka do put him in a good mood heading into the weekend. An angry Ductor is not what Belmont Park wants to see, but it what they’re getting. Empire Showcase Day is always a solid card with difficult NY Bread races. Well, difficult for passengers. Let’s Ride.

Race 7: 6½ Furlongs. S.Hudson H.

This is a very competitive sequence and the first race is no easy task. The Conductor sees them flying up front in here, so he is going to look for horses that can sit off the pace and finish down the lane.

#6 Big Engine (5/1) – He got a nice trip last time and got the job done and looks to get the same setup again today. He’ll sit right behind the speed and will be ready to pounce.

#2 Captain Bombastic (6/1) – The Conductor is going to ignore this colt’s non effort last time. He gets back to Belmont today where he is 3/3 and Saez has ridden him in his last two victories. His run in the Jerkens was very solid and he’ll gets a perfect setup here.

Other Contenders: #8 T Loves a Fight (4/1), #7 My Boy Tate (3/1)

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Inner Turf) S.Mohawk Stakes

The Conductor is going to toss the runners coming out of the West Point and use the two Maker runners #7 Somelikeithotbrown (9/5) and #8 Cross Border (5/2). Their class should get the job done.

#2 Opt (20/1) – Stretching back out to his best distance, this gelding is steadily progressing and fits with this group. The connections will keep him a big price and he can absolutely hit the board.

Race 9: 6½ Furlongs. F.S. Iroquois Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #6 Collegeville Girl (15/1) – This race is wide open and a case can be made for almost every runner. This filly will be a big price and looks to get a nice trip with a hot pace to close into. Her figures fit with this group and the Conductor likes that Rosario takes the mount for an out of town trainer.

Empire Showcase

Other Contenders: #1 Newly Minted (5/2), #9 Timely Tradition (5/1)

Race 10: 1 1/8 Mile. S.Empire Classic

#3 Funny Guy (2/1) – He’s clearly the one to beat but stretching out from 6 furlongs to 1 1/8 mile makes the Conductor a little nervous.

#7 Sea Foam (4/1) – He’s going the right direction while #2 Mr Buff (5/2) is going the wrong one. Of the two speed horses, the Conductor will only use Sea Foam.

#8 Evaluator (12/1) – He’s had trouble staying on the track but has always had talent. Entering today after a blowout win in the slop, the Conductor sees him firing top effort today.

Race 11: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) S.Alw 72000n1x

Hold on to your metaphorical nuts if you’re a filly and real nuts if you’re a colt and are alive to this last leg. This race is absolute chaos to close out Empire Showcase Day. The Conductor prefers the lightly raced horses with upside in here.

Contenders: #3 Smite (10/1), #4 Steelersfanforlife (15/1), #5 Three Outlaws (8/1), #7 Advanced Strategy (5/2), #8 Uncle George (5/2), #11 On the Couch (12/1)

Keeneland: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Friday, October 23

keeneland

Damn Conductor, I lost my pinky Wednesday and the rest of my fingers Thursday! Well son, if you don’t have any fingers it’s easier to make a fist. This sport is hard, back in the ring at Keeneland. PS. Baffert being the face of the sport is a disgrace.

keeneland

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. F.Mdn 70k

#9 Color of Dawn (1/1) is clearly the most likely winner after just missing in her debut. If your looking for some value, the Conductor likes the #7 Blarney Girl (15/1). Garcia takes the mount for a small barn and trainer Michael Ewing is 14% with a +$2.53 ROI this year with first time starters.

Race 7: 5½ Furlongs. (OFF Turf) F.Alw 71000n1x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #12 Lea’s Princess (10/1) – This girl ran huge last time t Keeneland, pressing a hot pace and just tiring late. Shortening back to 5 ½ furlongs is just what the Conductor wants to see, and the dirt will be no problem.

keeneland

Race 8: 7 Furlongs. Clm 40000n2L

#1 Prioritizer (12/1) – 1st off the claim for Bob Hess Jr., this colt was bumped at the start before dueling and fading last time. His maiden breaker two back certainly fits with this group and he has an early pace edge over this field. They’ll send him from the rail and he can slip away at a nice number.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Alw 75000n3x

#7 Complicit (12/1) – This filly was in against Grade 1 company last time and was over matched. In her prior two efforts, she hit the board at big odds and is also shortening up to her best distance today. The Conductor will key her in the trifecta at a juicy number.

Race 10: 6 Furlongs. F.Mdn 70k

#8 Super Sport (6/1) – She was heavily bet in her debut and showed early speed after a tough start. She’s certainly working well coming into today and the Conductor thinks she’ll show what she’s really made of today.

Keeneland: Late Pick 4 for Wednesday, October 21

A group of racehorses competing on a dirt track with a large crowd in the background, showcasing the excitement of horse racing events.

Finally we get back to the action. Two days off has the Conductor shaking. The races coming off the turf at Keeneland  is disappointing, but we play the cards we’re dealt. Let’s Ride..

Race 5: 1 1/16 Mile. Clm 40000

#2 Intrepid Heart (5/2) – He’s won his last two starts nicely and is clearly the one to beat. The fact that Pletcher didn’t bump him up in class today at Keeneland does make the Conductor a little nervous.

#5 Mi Tres Por Ciento (4/1) – He stumbled and lost the jock at the start of the last race. However, he was running well vs tougher in all his prior races and gets a big class drop today. He didn’t run poorly last time, he never had a chance. 4/1 would be a great price.

Other Contenders: #1 Jungle Warfare (8/1), #3 Lone Rock (6/1)

Race 6: 1 1/16 Mile. (OFF Turf) F.Alw 73000n2x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Golden Curl (4/1) – She’s much improved routing on the grass in the last two. She looks to get another good trip and her effort last time will win again here. She has the best dirt form of the group and will be forwardly placed in a race without much other pace. 4/1 would be a gift from the pony gods.

keeneland

Other Contenders: #5 Naughty Joker (5/1)

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. F.Alw 71000n1x

#1 Impeccable Style (7/2) – She’s pressed hot paces routing in her last few and finally gets the cutback in distance she needs today. Trainer Brendan Walsh is also 24% with a +$1.11 ROI with new horses in the barn this year,

#2 O Seraphina (9/2) – Returning after a long layoff, her races in the spring fit with this group on numbers. With natural maturity she is very dangerous in here for a barn that hits at 21% with a +$0.30 ROI off the bench.

Other Contenders: #8 Never Forget (3/1)

Race 8: 1 3/8 Mile. (OFF Turf) F.Mdn 70k

#1 Captain Ginny B (20/1) – This race is wide open with the race coming off the turf, but this is a bomb the Conductor will absolutely be using if she stays in. She did some running in her debut on turf and is bred to be just as good on turf. Trainer Tim Austin wins with horses like these at big prices. He’s 23% with a +$4.34 ROI with shippers this year.
