Force Feed Friday: The Conductor’s Plays at Belmont Park

A group of horses racing at the Preakness Stakes, with jockeys in colorful silks and dust being kicked up from the track.

The Conductor is on vacation for a wedding this week. He’s not getting married, he’s not an idiot but he’s got a lot of things like unlimited stews and gators on the golf course to worry about. He apologizes about leaving the passengers out to dry Thursday, but not really.  He has been so generous to us we can’t complain anyway. Let’s have ourselves a weekend at Belmont Park. Let’s Ride.

The Conductor’s Memorial Day Plays at Belmont Park

A crowded horse racing event with multiple horses and riders on the track in front of an audience.

The Conductor continues to harm himself mentally, physically, emotionally and financially, but that’s the cross he bears. He is free to conduct as he pleases because of the brave soldiers who have lost their lives protecting this great country.  Today we celebrate those soldiers by drinking more stews and betting ponies not because we want to, but because its what they would have wanted.  The Conductor thanks all those who have served and are serving. Let’s have ourselves a Monday at Belmont, Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) F.SMC 40000

Sabbath Sunday: The Conductor’s Prayers at Belmont Park

Dynamic image of thoroughbred horses racing on a grassy track, showcasing multiple jockeys in colorful silks during a competitive event.

Not a great Saturday at Belmont, but 15/1 gullet shot of the day running 2nd hopefully made some passengers score. The Conductor can’t wait to fry his pasty body in the sun today. Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 6½ Furlongs. Clm 10000

#1 Gypsum Johnny (4/1) – The drop in class helped him more than the slop last race in the Conductor’s opinion. He has the figures to get the job done and posted a bullet work recently.

Never a Doubt Lock From God #1 Keota (7/2) – 2nd off the layoff and dropping back to the claiming ranks, she had no pace to run at last time.  The Conductor sees her as a standout and she may be the 3rd choice in the betting.

Esophagus Slice Saturday: The Conductor’s Plays at Belmont Park

A group of racehorses competing on a grassy track at Belmont Park during a horse race.

2nds at short prices didn’t get the job done yesterday for the Conductor.  The most beautiful Saturday at Belmont thus far this year has the Conductor fired up for today though. Time to cash tickets, drink stews and tear apart fairways. In that order! Let’s Ride.

Force Feed Friday: The Conductor’s Plays at Belmont Park

Horses racing at Belmont Park with jockeys in colorful silks on a dirt track.

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) F.S.Alw 66000n1x

#7 Shady Shady Shady (6/1) – 2nd off the layoff, this filly is dangerous. You don’t win at toga by open lengths without talent.

The Conductor’s Preakness Recap

Horse named War of Will with a jockey wearing pink and black, adorned with yellow flowers after winning the Preakness Stakes.

Now that Conductor is back from a 3-day bachelor party and he’s been able to watch the Pimlico replays without 55 stews running through his veins, he has a few takeaways. Here is his Preakness recap.

  1. Preakness Recap: The rail was where you wanted to be both Friday and Saturday.

On Thursday, almost every winner on dirt, including multiple longshots were winning with wide-sweeping swoop and pounce moves on the turn.  Friday and Saturday, that move wasn’t working at all.  The Conductor was ready to write off Win Win Win immediately after the Preakness, but anyone with the trip he got was coming up short in every race.  The Conductor will keep his eye on the horses that had wide trips to see where they end up next.

  1. War of Will ran huge, but he got a perfect trip.

He clearly ran the best, but he had to win with that trip. Saving all of the ground on a good rail, he sat behind the dueling leaders and the rail opened up for him perfectly at the top of the stretch. If he hadn’t won, he’d have 0 excuses.

  1. War of Will should have never gone off at 6/1

The Conductor’s biggest regret on Saturday is not having any saver bets on War of Will at that price.  The Conductor thought he was live, he was mostly against him because of the price he figured to be and race setup.  The Conductor thought he was going to go off at around 3/1.  With the way the track was playing and the odds he ended up at, there is no excuse for not using him. You must be on your toes and adapt on the fly to succeed in this game.  The Conductor bill blame his stew intake and lack of sleep, but he needs to keep it tighter on racing’s biggest days.

  1. The Conductor’s body is still rotting from the inside out today and he will be back proving us passengers winners tomorrow.

It feels like his bones are deteriorating while he sits.

5. Buy More Shirts so the Conductor can eat dinner.
