The Conductor is on vacation for a wedding this week. He’s not getting married, he’s not an idiot but he’s got a lot of things like unlimited stews and gators on the golf course to worry about. He apologizes about leaving the passengers out to dry Thursday, but not really.  He has been so generous to us we can’t complain anyway. Let’s have ourselves a weekend. Let’s Ride.

Moon Shot Monday: The Conductor’s Memorial Day Plays at Belmont Park

The Conductor continues to harm himself mentally, physically, emotionally and financially, but that’s the cross he bears. He is free to conduct as he pleases because of the brave men and women who have lost their lives protecting this great country.  Today we celebrate those soldiers by drinking more stews and betting ponies not because we want to, but because its what they would have wanted.  The Conductor thanks all those who have served and are serving.  Let’s have ourselves a Monday, Let’s Ride.

#7 Miss Rombauer (7/2) – She drops to the claiming ranks for the 1st time and has been heavily backed at the windows vs much tougher competition.

#3 Not About the Nail (7/5) – This ol’ mare had a troubled trip last start and stretches back out to a mile where she is best. She loves to win.

#4 Riot (12/1) – She was well bet in her debut but hit the gate at the start and didn’t run a step. She adds blinkers today and will try the grass for strong connections.  She has a lot of upside.

#3 Tossup (5/2) – The layoff is a concern, but her last race a Saratoga makes her the one to beat.

#7 Mucho (3/1) – Bred to be better on the grass, this colt showed real ability on the dirt as a 2-year-old.
