Saratoga: Key Horses for Sunday, July 31

Two racehorses with jockeys in colorful silks competing on a racetrack.

More pain and suffering for the Ductor Saturday. He couldn’t quite link up the chalk and longshots. Nobody feels sorry for him however. Wake up watch the Saratoga tape, scour the form and end the weekend in style. Skip.

Race 3: 7 Furlongs. F.Clm 50000

#1 Tweaqued (6/1) – This filly showed ability last year at Saratoga winning on debut on the dirt for a low % barn. She returned off the layoff this meet on turf and ran a very good 2nd at 30/1. 2nd off the layoff today and returning to the surface she should be best on, the Ductor sees her taking a step forward and taking the money at a price.

Race 7: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) OC 80000n3x

#5 Soldier Rising (7/2), #1 Hard Love (8/1)

Race 8: 1 3/8 Mile. (Inner Turf) G2 Bowling Green Stakes

#1 L’Imperator (6/1), #6 Rockemperor (3/1)

Race 9: 6½ Furlongs. G2 Amsterdam Stakes

#5 Accretive (7/2)

Race 10: 5½ Furlongs. (Turf) S.MC 40000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 Sharp Sensation (6/1) – Most of the Contenders in here are exiting the same slow race on July 8th won by a 16/1 shot and the Ductor is looking for an alternative. This gelding ran well with a no chance trip against maidens last time and now ships back to New York and drops to the level where he’s already crossed the wire first. He has early speed in a race without much early pace an Saez hops aboard for a small barn he rode a 20/1 winner recently. The Ductor’s weekend will come down to the finale.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Friday, July 1

A group of racehorses competing on a grassy track at Belmont Park during a horse race.

A productive Thursday for the Ductor, but Belmont Park protected its gullet with the the scratch of Vincent. They will atone this weekend, Friday’s card is weak. Skip.

Belmont Park Race 5: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) Mdn 90k

#3 Alcazaba (4/1) – This colt was prepped perfectly in his debut, taken well back and finishing best sprinting on dirt. He’s meant to stretch out on the turf and the Ductor sees real ability here.

Race 6: 6½ Furlongs. F.Mdn 90k

#7 Tizzy in the Sky (6/1) – She get a nice outside draw and has the best work tab of the bunch,

Race 8: 1 1/4 Mile. (Inner Turf) OC 62500n2x

#6 Bluegrass Parkway (8/1) – By far the best betting race on the card, you could make a case for many in here. This gelding has won off a layoff before and his races at this distance are as good as any in here. He’ll likely float higher than his 8/1 morning line.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) Clm 35000n3L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #9 Zip Line to Heaven (12/1) – Shipping in from Pimlico, this gelding won nicely last time closing with a wide trip vs allowance company. Prior, he had been running well in the tough 5-furlong sprints at Gulfstream and the Ductor thinks that 6 furlongs will be better for him. The Ductor isn’t impressed with the locals in this spot, so he’ll be looking for an invader.
