The Conductor’s Wednesday Preview at Belmont Park

Not a great day at Belmont yesterday for the Conductor. His best opinion was #4 Lucky Ramsey running in the exacta at 12/1 in the finale. He likes a few bombs Wednesday as well.

#2 Ajaaweed (7/2) – This colt ran evenly in his debut and is stretching out for the first time. Kiaran McLaughlin trainees usually take big steps forward in their 2nd career start.

Race 2: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) Clm 35000n3L

#6 Carot (9/2) – Dropping back to the claiming ranks, this colt has very fast early pace figures and his race two back at this track and distance will give him every chance.

Race 3: 6 Furlongs. F.S.MC 25000

#1/1A Entry – The Conductor likes both of these fillies.

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 10000

#5 Tiz R Bella (6/5) – Chalk.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 True Prosperity (20/1) – Stretching out to a route and trying turf for the first time, this girl is steadily progressing. Trainer Rory Huston has won with bombs recently with this move. The Conductor will key her in the trifecta.

#1 Cartwheel (7/2) – She’s dropping in class at Belmont and shortening in distance after pressing a hot pace going longer. She looks to get a nice trip sitting behind a hot pace.

#6 Fierce Scarlett (4/5) – Chad chalk.

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.S.Mdn 62k

#10 Amos (20/1) – Returning to a route and trying grass for the 1st time, she has good early speed and turf in her pedigree. Trainer Kelsey Danner is 2/10 with +$6.18 ROI this year moving runners to the lawn for the 1st time.

Chalk fest at Belmont yesterday, which never suits the Conductor. Kentucky Downs also played as a turf highway, gate to wire all day. Let’s pray to the pony gods for a good end to the week. The first NFL Sunday, Let’s Ride.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Hudson Overpass (8/1) – This boy has improved in every start and the Conductor likes the aggressive bump up in class. His early pace figures give him an edge here as well. The Conductor will key him in the exacta.

#5 Movie Score (7/5) – Its tough to like any of these fillies.

Race 3: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) MC 40000

#6 Mo Fun (6/1) – He was bumped at the break, forced 5 wide, and still ran a good 4th in his debut at this level. The conductor likes his upside.

Race 4: 7 Furlongs. Clm 16000

#3 Javelin (9/2) – Dropping in class, his effort at Belmont two back will give him every chance.

Race 5: 1 Mile. (Turf) S.Mdn 62k

#9 Portfolio Hedge (3/1) – The conductor never hedges.

#3 Matzo Bella (8/5) – Servis looks tough to beat.

#1 Abilene Trail (8/5) – She ran a figure well above par in her debut sprinting. Her even pace figures tell the Conductor she’ll appreciate the stretchout.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) 100K Allied Forces Stakes

#2 Uncle Benny (4/1) – He stumbled bad in his return to the races last start and didn’t do much running. He’s the most talented runner in the field and that would be a delicious price.

#3 No Bang No Boom (5/1) – The Conductor can see him wiring this field.

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. (Inner Turf) Clm 25000

#4 Lucky Ramsey (8/1) – This gelding is coming in off a year layoff but is a hard knocker and loves the track and distance. Most importantly he looks to get a perfect setup today, with a hot pace to close into.

The races getting taken off the turf last minute displeased the Conductor yesterday. We’re on the turf today at Belmont and the Conductor cannot wait to sink into his couch and stare at screens for the next 48 hours. Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 6 Furlongs. F.S.Alw 66000n1x

#1 Girl of Tosconova (6/1) – Making her 1st start of the year, she was thrust into Grade 2 competition in her 3rd career last winter. With natural maturity as a 3-year-old, she can improve mightily today. The odds on favorite #2 Cash Offer (3/5) will have early pace pressure to contend with.

Race 2: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) F.S.MC 40000

#5 Cape Cod Diva (6/5) – Dropping to the maiden claiming ranks for the first time against a heinous field, she’s an absolute cinch.

Race 3: 6 ½ Furlongs. Clm 40000

#2 Happy Form (7/5) – A two horse race on paper, the Conductor leans towards the Servis runner.

Race 4: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) MC 40000

#3 Crypto Gold (3/1) – 2nd off the claim for Linda Rice, she’s 37% with a +$0.78 ROI this year with runners 2nd out.

#1 Highway Flyer (6/1) – He had a brutal trip last time. The Conductor likes his upside at a decent price.

Race 5: 6½ Furlongs. Mdn 75k

#1 Hemlock (3/1) – He went off favored for Mott in his debut, who doesn’t get his 1st timers cranked. The Conductor thinks there is a lot more under the hood.

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Alw 50000s

#4 Take Charge Tina (10/1) – This filly was much improved on the turf two back and returns to the lawn 1st off the claim today. The Conductor will key her in the exacta and trifecta.

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) Alw 77000n1x

*Double Barreled Buckshot #6 Lonhtwist (6/1) – This colt is progressing and has run well every time sprinting on turf. The Conductor sees him going off at and even bigger price with low % connections.

#9 Quarky (4/1) – He has a major early pace edge over this group and has a chance to wire them.

Race 8: 1½ Mile. Grand Prix American Jockey Club Invitational Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Highland Sky (8/1) – He didn’t beat much in his blowout off the turf win at Belmont last start, but the Conductor loved the way he traveled over the surface. He’s faced tougher turf fields most of his career and the Conductor will hammer him if he’s close to that morning line.

Race 9: 1 1/8 Mile. (Turf) F.Jockey Club Oaks Invitational Stakes

#6 Wonderment (7/2) – The Conductor likes her European form and this distance should hit her right between the eyes.

Race 10: 1½ Mile. (Turf) Jockey Club Derby Invitational Stakes

#9 Spanish Mission (3/1) – This isn’t the strongest group of American runners and the Conductor is going to try to beat Chad Brown here. This boy has very strong form vs tougher across the pond. The Conductor will also use the Euro shippers #4 Pedro Cara (12/1) and #5 San Huberto (10/1).

Race 11: 7 Furlongs. S.MC 25000

#1 Champagne Chills (8/5) – He’s the logical choice, if he doesn’t win at Belmont you could see a bomb in here. The Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion here.

Force Feed Friday: The Conductor’s Plays at Belmont Park

#1 Bebe Banker (20/1) – She ran an even 4th at this level at Saratoga last start and will closer to the lead today in a race whatsoever. The Conductor sees him hitting the board at a big price.

#6 Red Zinger (7/2) – Returning to dirt and stretching out to a route, he’s the Conductor’s top pick in here. He has a major early pace advantage over this field.

Race 2: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) F.S.Mdn 62k

#1A Strongerthanuknow (5/2) – Her early speed gives her a major edge against this group.

Race 3: 7 Furlongs. F.S.Clm 25000

#7 First Forevor (6/1) – 1st off the claim for a red hot Englehart barn, she looks to get a favorable trip on or near a slow pace.

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) Mdn 75k

#8 Imperial Moment (9/2) – Bred well for the grass, the Conductor likes his work tab and bullet August 17. Castellano rarely rides for Mott, which also catches the Conductor’s eye.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 Stonefactor (12/1) – 2nd off the layoff, she’s 1/1 at Belmont and it came at this distance. She set a hot pace last time and ran well to hang on for 3rd. She’s very dangerous on the early lead and she should get it again today.

#2 Stand for the Flag (6/5) – She ran an extremely strong late pace figure last time at Belmont Par, closing into a slow pace. She’ll like the added distance.

#5 Dancing Vega (5/1), #7 Turf War (10/1) – Whenever Chad has two runners that aren’t favorites, one of them wins.

*Never a Doubt Friday Night Stew Lock of the Day #9 Astoria Kitten (7/2) – Heavily favored in her debut, she hit the gate at the start and moved early into a hot pace. The Conductor sees a monster effort coming today.

The Conductor’s Thursday Late Pick 4 Preview at Kentucky Downs

14% takeout for pick 4’s and and also full fields at Kentucky Downs makes it impossible for the Conductor to sit on his hands tomorrow. He’d be leaving money on the table! He likes tomorrow’s late pick 4 especially. Let’s Ride.

#2 Cairo Express (12/1) – She showed good early speed in her debut on dirt at Saratoga and is also bred to step forward on the turf. Additionally, trainer Joe Sharp is 19% with a +$0.83 ROI moving runners to turf for the 1st time this year.

#8 Meritaten (6/1) – This filly was well bet in her debut and ran evenly, chasing 3-wide. The Conductor also likes her works exiting that race and sees her taking a big step forward with experience.

#9 Fashion Act (20/1) – Similar angle to the #2. She certainly showed speed on dirt and well bet in her debut and now switching to turf, where she’s bred to prefer.

#11 Lucky Polly (6/1) – She’s absolutely bred for the turf for top connections and working well.

#1 Cammack (10/1) – This old man was loaded behind traffic and also a slow pace last start. He’s a hard knocker and beat similar two back.

#5 Aquaphobia (7/2) – He’s exiting much tougher races at Saratoga.

#7 Untaimed Domain (12/1) – He clipped heels last time, but his prior form gives him every chance vs this group. The Conductor certainly likes that he returns to the races quickly.

#9 Penalty (5/1) – He beat tougher two starts back at Saratoga at this distance.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #3 Mr. Misunderstood (4/1) – 3rd off the layoff, 4/4 at the distance and a G2 stakes winner, he’s the Conductor’s key to the Kentucky Downs sequence.

#6 Get Western (15/1) – The Conductor will also play a lone backup ticket with this longshot. He is exiting a wire to wire victory and there is not a lot of pace signed on in this one.
