Sabbath Sunday: The Conductor’s Prayers at Aqueduct

With Belmont coming around the corner and California in shambles, the Conductor is going back to his roots.  The Conductor needs to reset.  New York racing is what built him. Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 12500

#1 Elizabeth Nicole (6/5) – She’s got a major pace advantage against this group.

Race 2: 6 Furlongs. S.MC 25000

#5 Dark Money (8/1) – 1st off the claim, he was well bet in his last start and had a terrible trip.  With a clean one he’s dangerous.

Race 3: 6 Furlongs. F.Alw 70000n1x

*Never a Doubt Lock From God #1 Shimmering Moon (1/1) – She stands above these.

jesus GIF

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. S.Mdn 60k

#7 Red Zinger (2/1) – Drawn well to the outside, this boy has more talent in his right knee than the rest of these.

Race 5: 1 Mile. F.Clm 10000

#4 Gobi (8/1) – Throw out her last race off a long layoff on a sloppy track, she fits.

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. S.MC 50000

#1 Wilson’s Holiday (15/1) – Trainer Paul Barrow is 31% with a +$1.96 ROI debuting maiden claimers this year.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. F.Alw 50000s

#5 Trouble for Skylar (5/2) – This girl’s last race was very impressive.

Race 8: 1 Mile. F.S. 100K Maddie May Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #8 Flush (5/1) – She’s got the most talent in the field.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. F.S.OC 75000n1x

#8 Bustin Scones (15/1) – She’s working well and steadily improving. Low % connections are the only reason she’ll be a big price.

Sabbath Sunday: The Conductor’s Prayers at Aqueduct and the Sunland Derby

The Conductor will never play Fair Grounds again. Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 6 Furlongs. MC 20000

*Never a Doubt Sunday Night Scary Preventer But Not Really They Can’t Be Prevented Tonight Lock of the Day #3 Racing Raven (4/5) – Cutting back to a sprint, he has to beat this horrendous field.

Image result for hiding under covers gif

Race 2: 6½ Furlongs. Clm 40000b

#3 Bootlegger (4/1) – 3rd off the layoff and dropping in class, he looks to be a new animal this year.  His last two races give him every chance.

Race 3: 5½ Furlongs. S.Mdn 60k

#1 Holey Matrimony (9/2) – Debuting for a hot barn, this colt is well bred and working well.

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. F.MC 20000

#2 Give Me a Hug (3/1) – 2nd off the layoff and cutting back to a sprint this filly has been well bet vs much tougher.  The Conductor needs a big hug after Vegas.

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. F.OClm 75000

#6 Movie Score (5/1) – She was only beaten a length two starts back vs similar with a solid figure and Ryerson is 25% with a +$0.50 ROI this year 1st off the claim.

Race 6: 1 Mile. S.Mdn 60k

#6 Papa Jim (4/1) – 2nd off the layoff and stretching out for the 1st time he ran a very good 3rd last start with a tough trip.

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. S.Alw 64000n1x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Shamrock Kid (9/2) – He ran a huge fire last start in the slop.  He’s in good form and has a pace edge over this group. 9/2 would be stealing.

Image result for knockout gif

Race 8: 1 Mile. F.Alw 70000n1x

#8 Storm Rising (7/2) – She was bumped at the break and still demolished her competition in her debut. She has talent.

Race 9: 1 Mile. S.Clm 32000

#1 Oh K Funnybone (6/1) – He’s steadily progressing and stretching back out to a mile, where he has his lone win.

Sunland Park

Race 11: 1 1/8 Mile. G3 Sunland Park Derby

#2 Anotherwistafate (3/1) – #1 Much Gusto (8/5) is clearly the Baffert horse to beat, but he’ll likely go off at 2/5 in here.  This colt shipping in from Golden Gate will likely go off higher than 3/1 and the Conductor will take a swing with him.  He’s won three in a row going away in gate to wire fashion in San Francisco.  For anyone who pays attention to Golden Gate, its impossible to go gate to wire. He has potential.

Cigar Mile to the Hollywood Derby: The Conductor’s Saturday Stakes Plays

Only 3 short priced winners yesterday, another blah day for the Conductor.  It’s been a tough week, but there is no time to dwell on the past, the future is now.  We have an action-packed Saturday with stakes races across the county and the Conductor will play them all.  Strap in, the train is going to rack up some serious miles today.  Let’s Ride.

Aqueduct’s Graded Stakes Keys to the Pick 6

Race 6: 1 Mile. F. G3 Go For Wand Handicap

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 Come Dancing (10/1) – Pressing a hot pace going longer in a very tough Grade 1 race, she ran admirably last time.  She’ll appreciate the cutback in distance and is working well entering today.  Her best gives her every chance.

elite yankee saburo punch GIF

Race 8: 1 1/8 Mile. G2 Remsen Stakes

*Never a Doubt Lock of the Sequence #5 Network Effect (7/5) – This looks like a two-horse race on paper and the Conductor will lean toward the Chad Brown runner.  He’s faced much tougher in his first two starts than #6 Maximus Mischief (6/5) and he’s run against much faster paces.

Race 9: 1 Mile. Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap

*Atom Bomb Shot of the Day #3 Pat on the Back (15/1) – After stumbling at the start, he ran huge to win easy in a state bred stakes last race.  That race was the fastest in the field on the Conductor’s numbers.  He’ll be a little farther back today, but with speed drawn to his inside and out, he’ll have a formidable pace to run at.  This is a weak Grade 1 field, and many have chances.  The Conductor will go for a price and key him in the exotics.

Del Mar’s Keys to the Late Pick 4:

Race 6: 7 Furlongs. F.Alw 50000s

#8 Vallestina (5/1) – Drawn well to the outside, she has impressive early pace figures in a race without much speed signed on.  She is a consistent runner, switches back to the dirt today and has run her best over this Del Mar surface.

Race 7: 1 1/8 Mile. (Turf) G1 Hollywood Derby

*Double Barreled Shotgun Blasts #11 Carrick (8/1) – He didn’t run a step on soft turf last time, but the Conductor is throwing that race out.  He’s had some time off since, is a Grade 1 winner and has run well over multiple distances and surfaces in his young career.  He draws a tough post, nut the Conductor is trusting the Rajin Cajun to figure out a good trip.

#14 Californiagoldrush (12/1) – Another brutal post draw, but that’s the only knock against this horse.  He’s the class of the field and the horse the Conductor like most.  He has enough early speed to prevent being fanned too wide into the first turn.

gun shotgun GIF

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. Mdn 53k

#7 American Camp (8/1) – This 325k colt is working like a rocket and his dam is 1/1 producing winners.  He’ll have good early speed and trainer Bob Hess Jr hits at a decent 10% clip with 1st time starters.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.S.OC 20000n1x

*Never a Doubt Lock of the Sequence #1 Marjorie (7/2) – She ran a decent 3rd off a layoff last start and should step forward off that effort.  She’s beaten much tougher open company in her young career and trainer Patrick Gallagher is 29% with a +$0.76 ROI with runners 2nd off the bench this year.

Humpday Heroics: The Conductor’s plays at Aqueduct

Decent day at Parx yesterday for the Conductor with 3 top pick winners including 4/1 Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Alpha Team in race 3.  The train heads to New York today to take on Aqueduct.  They’re off the turf again, but there is still some decent dirt racing.  Wednesday has been the Coductor’s best day the last few weeks.  Let’s build some momentum, Let’s Ride.

snow winter GIF

Race 1: 6 Furlongs. S.MC 40000

#7 Bourbon and Rye (5/2) – Well bet in all three of his starts against much tougher, he’s disappointed but shown good early speed.  He’s drawn well to the outside, working well, and many of these others have proven they cannot win at this level.

Race 2: 1 Mile. F.Clm 16000

#7 Expressly (9/2) – She’s shipping in from Parx after a solid effort pressing a decent pace last time. She’s a mile specialist, getting a weight break and her last race had multiple runners come back and win next start.  She won at this level at Aqueduct last winter.

Race 3: 1 Mile. F.Clm 16000

#7 No Limit Babe (6/1) – It’s tough to like anybody in this group, but the Conductor cannot take the 3/5 favorite #6 Brass Ring with a performance so far below par last time.  Drawn well to the outside, this filly plunges in class for top connections, has good early speed, and should improve cutting back in distance and returning to dirt. Let’s hope 7s are wild.

Race 4: 1 Mile. (OFF Turf) F.S.Mdn 60k

#2 Little Song (6/1) – This well-bred filly was 210k at the Keeneland sale and has a solid work tab at Fair Hill.  Graham Motion wins at 13% first out and the Conductor loves that he keeps her in with the rest of these runners who signed up to run on turf.

Race 5: 1 Mile. Clm 16000

#4 Extinct Charm (4/1) – He ran better than it looks on paper last start, pressing a hot pace in between horses and being force wide.  He has the fastest speed figures in this group at a mile and has run some numbers at Aqueduct last winter that would blow this field away.

Race 6: 1 Mile. (OFF Turf) Mdn 70k

#9 Dance For Oro (8/1) – This debut MTO runner is bred to be a good thing and posted a monster workout on November 12.  He also has top connections with the Irad/Linda Rice jokey/trainer combo.

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. F.Clm 40000

*Never a Doubt Humpday Lock of the Day #3 Lemon Crush (3/1) – Shipping in from California facing tougher sprinters, she’s posting bullet works and gets a weight break.  Gate to wire.

never getting out humphrey bogart GIF by Warner Archive

Race 8: 1 1/8 Mile. OC 62500n2x

#8 Own Agenda (12/1)#7 Mr Buff (7/5) is the horse to beat, but this is the Conductor’s price horse he’ll key in the exotics and sprinkle on top.  Steadily progressing, he blew away lesser competition last time and is yet to have a bad effort on dirt.  He is posting sharp works and the distance shouldn’t be a problem.

Race 9: 6½ Furlongs. Clm 12500

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 Get a Valentine (5/1) – In his first try on dirt last time, the Conductor was impressed, pressing a scorching pace and fading late vs tougher.  He has by far the best early pace figs in this field and the Conductor believes he’ll gut them gate to wire.

Wednesday’s Recap: The Conductor Robs New York Again

The Conductor was able to grab Aqueduct’s gobbler on Thanksgiving Eve with a strong performance to give us a healthy food shopping budget.  He’s seeing the ball very well in New York and would like to stay, but New York weather never behaves.  Snow and off the turf today means the Conductor will take the train back out west for Del Mar.  Football, ponies, food and beer, what a great holiday. The Conductor’s Thanksgiving plays will be up shortly.

Wednesday’s Winners at Aqueduct: The Conductor’s Plays

On the Turf today at Aqueduct? What a treat, Thanksgiving came a day early for the Conductor.  We have late pick 5 and pick 6 carryovers to swing at.  Let’s make it a bountiful feast.  Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 7 Furlongs. MC 40000

#5 Catch Me If U Can (4/1) – This race is devoid of any early pace and this boy should get a comfortable on the lead.  This field will not catch him today.

Race 2: 1 Mile. Clm 14000n3L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 Fifty (8/1) – He got vanned off last start, but he’s coming back quickly to the track, so the Conductor is not concerned.  He’s dropping to his lowest career class level today and his best races smash this group.  His bullet works leading into today get the Conductor excited.

Race 3: 6½ Furlongs. OC 62500n2x

#5 Pete’s Play Call (3/1) – He should get a perfect stalking trip drawn to the outside, sitting just off dueling leaders.  He’s cycling up in form, while the others are looking to find their best race.

Race 4: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Mdn 70k

*Never a Doubt Stone Cold Lock of the Day #8 Malthael (3/1) – His last race was good enough to break almost any maiden.  He pressed a hot pace and finished 2nd to a next out winner in Empire of War.  He’s the one to beat.

looking in locked out GIF by 1st Look

#11 Tintoretto (12/1) – He ran a decent fifth behind #8 Malthael in his debut last start and that race came up very fast on the Conductor’s numbers.  He can step forward with experience and also adds Lasix today.  The Conductor will key him underneath in the trifecta.

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) F.OC 62500n2x

#7 Eloweasel (4/1) – She’s dropping out of open company and has the fastest speed figures sprinting on firm turf in this field.  She’ll appreciate getting back to firmer ground today.

Race 6: 1 Mile. S.MC 25000

#8 Local Edition (5/1) – The heavy favorite #7 Okeamo (6/5) will be tough to beat, but Local Edition is the only other possible win candidate.  He’s run some decent efforts vs tougher on turf and gets his first try on dirt today.  He adds blinkers for the first time as well.

Race 7: 1 3/16 Mile. (Outer Turf) Mdn 70k

#3 Rhode Island (7/2) – He’s steadily progressing and exiting the fastest maiden race in this field on the Conductor’s numbers. In his 2nd start off a layoff he’ll beat this group.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. S.OC 40000n2x

*Gobbler Grabber of the Day #8 Cerretalto (8/1) – The Conductor will cry with joy if he gets anything close to 8/1 on this gelding.  His speed figures make him very competitive in here and his last race was a solid 3rd vs much tougher open company at Saratoga.  He should get a perfect trip sitting behind a speed duel and he’s 2/2 at Aqueduct.

turkey gobble gobble GIF

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) S.Clm 25000

#1 Mobridge (3/1) – Stepping up in class last start, he had no chance trying to close into a tepid pace.  He drops back to a class level which he has dominated and should get a solid setup today.

Wednesday’s Recap: The Conductor took Aqueduct’s Lunch

Choooooo!!!!! Chooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! How hot was the Conductor yesterday? If you played his picks in the late pick 5 for 50c, the ticket would have cost you 2$ and you would have received $1,054.  Is that good? Not a bad ROI.  Aqueduct is thankful Del Mar is back up and running and the Conductor is headed out west for the rest of the week.  Fear not, the Conductor will return to New York next Wednesday to bankrupt them again.  Until then, lets hope Del Mar is as kind, full card plays will be up this afternoon.  First post at 3:30pm ET.

Wednesday’s Winners: The Conductor’s Hump Day Plays at Aqueduct

Small fields due to races coming off the turf today, but the Conductor wont complain.  He’ll play the cards hes dealt and pick eight winners in a row.  Let’s build our bankroll midweek, Let’s Ride.

12:50pm ET Race 1: 1 1/8 Mile. Clm 25000n2L

#3 Malibu Strings (8/5) – Dropping in class and switching back to dirt, the Conductor likes him better than the odds on favorite #2 Purchasing Power.  Malibu Strings is lightly raced, improving, and should get a perfect trip on or near a slow pace.

1:18pm ET Race 2: 6 Furlongs. Clm 10000

#2 Toohottoevenspeak (6/1) – The heavy favorite #1A Big Guy Ian (3/5) looks tough to beat in here, but the Conductor can pull a little value out of this race.  Eligible to improve in his 2nd start off the layoff, this gelding is cutting back to a sprint and drops in class.  He loves to run 2nd and 3rd and that’s what the Conductor expects him to do.  He’ll hammer a stone cold 1/2 exacta and sprinkle a little on the reverse.

1:47pm ET Race 3: 1 Mile. (OFF Turf) Mdn 70k

#13 Greyes Creek (4/1) – This 850k Chad brown runner ran a par effort for this level in a race taken off the turf last time.  He gets the same circumstances again today and gets added distance, which his breeding suggests he’ll appreciate.

#16 Lone Pioneer (8/1) – He’s steping up in class, but he is also the only MTO runner in this field.  His debut effort was solid, and he wants to run on dirt, while the others want grass.

2:17pm ET Race 4: 6 Furlongs. (Off Turf) F.Clm 35000n3L’

#12 Our Girl Abby (5/2) – The Conductor can’t explain why she was so bad last race, but she’s shown a tendency to be an “in and outer.” Good race, bad race, good race, bad race.  Her good race beats this field.

2:47 Race 5: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 32000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #6 Clairvoyant Lady (9/2) – 1st off the claim for top trainer Jerimiah Englehart and 2nd off a layoff, she looks primed to run a top effort.  She has past performances that make her competitive against this group and is a very consistent runner.  She also hasn’t missed the board in all 4 career starts at Aqueduct.

3:17pm ET Race 6: 1 1/8 Mile. Alw 75000n1x

*Never a Doubt Hump Day Lock #5 Mr. Buff (3/1) – He’s likely to be the third betting choice in this field and he’s quite simply the fastest horse in this field on the Conductor’s numbers.  He was beaten two starts back by rivals in here, but he brushed the gate at the start of that race.  His performance last time in the Empire Classic smokes this field.

key lock GIF

3:47pm ET Race 7: 6 Furlongs. (OFF Turf) S.OC 40000n2x

*Throat Slit #1 Shiraz (8/1) – His win two starts back on dirt can beat this group and he’ll be a big price.  He’s only raced 3 times on a fast dirt track in his career and it could be what he wants best.

#10 Royal Asset (6/1) – 2nd off the claim for Rudy Rod he will likely take a step forward and his last race on grass was very solid.  The Conductor is confused why they even want to run him on turf. He’s 4/10 on dirt and 1/10 on turf lifetime.

4:17pm ET Race 8: 7 Furlongs. F.S.MC 25000

#6 Lovely Escort (5/1) – Facing tougher open company, she’s shown speed in her first two starts and then has fallen apart late.  She gets Lasix today, suggesting she bled last time and the lead will make any horse dangerous in here.  This group is week.

#1 Stay Good (5/2) – Well bet at Saratoga, she had a trip from hell in her debut.  If she has any ability like Rudy Rod thinks she does, she’ll beat this field for fun.

Thursday’s Throat Shots at Aqueduct

Early races at Aqueduct taken off the turf, what a joke.  Whatever, Let’s Ride.

Race 1: Taken off turf – BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Animated GIF

Race 2: 7 Furlongs. F.S.Mdn 62k

#5 Mrs Orb (9/5) – Drawn well to the outside, she has speed and has the most potential.  The Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion in this race, but he’s agains the heavy favorite #2 Carrerra Cat.

Top Picks: 5-6-4

Race 3: 1 Mile. F.Clm 14000n3L

#5 Sierra Leona (6/1) – She’s running for the first time since April, but she has the fastest speed figures at this distance.  She has good early speed and gets a bug aboard, so the Conductor hopes she goes right to the front.  Trainer Michelle Nevin gets them ready to run off the bench.

Top Picks: 5-7-1

Race 4: 1 Mile. (Off Turf) Mdn 70k

#1 Duncastle (10/1) – The two times he has run on turf, he’s run huge.  In his last turf effort, he stumbled out of the gate, made a strong middle move into a hot pace to take the lead and faded late.  He finished only 1 3/4 lengths behind today’s morning line favorite #8 Kandinsky and we’ll get a much juicier price.

That was the Conductor’s analysis before it was taken off the turf. Screw it, we’ll ride with him.

Top Picks: 1-2B-3X

Race 5: 1 Mile. F.Alw 50000s

#2 Honey I’m Good (3/1) – She absolutely demolished the field in her debut and the only horse with a competitive speed figure in this group is the morning line favorite #3 South of France, who the Conductor is completely against.  Inside speed was golden all meet at Keeneland and her number is very inflated.  The Conductor can’t wait to take a stand.

Top Picks: 3-1-4

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) S.Alw 66000n1x

#9 Alien Season (7/2) – Drawn well to the outside, this gelding is lightly raced and has already won at three different tracks.  He’s posting bullet works entering today and his last race at Kentucky Downs was outstanding after breaking last.  KD shippers were dominating at Keeneland and the Conductor hopes these New Yorkers weren’t paying attention.

Top Picks: 9-1-4

Race 7: 1 Mile. Alw 50000s

#3 American Power (9/2) – 2nd off the claim for trainer Linda Rice, he has the highest speed figures in this field.  His last start at this level was better than it looks, with the winner coming back to win his next start.  American Power’s late pace figures tell the Conductor thinks he’ll appreciate the added distance as well.

Top Picks: 3-9-7

Race 8: 1 3/8 Mile (Turf) OC 62500n2x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #8 Nims (15/1) – Steadily improving and showing a great late kick on synthetic, this is a price horse the Conductor can latch on to.  If he can translate his form to the turf, he has as good a chance as any.

choking andre the giant GIF

Top Picks: 8-3-9

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) S.MC 40000

*Never a Doubt Aqueduct Choke Slam Finisher Lock of the Day #1 Our Last Buck (3/1) – He’s working like a rocket and he ran huge in his debut setting a scorching pace and holding on for 3rd.  The Conductor likes the cutback in distance and he looks like a single to end the Card.
