Belmont Park: Key Horses for Monday, July 5

Silhouette of a horse rearing against a backdrop of the American flag.

Hello passengers. The Ductor was out in the wilderness for the week. Always nice to recharge the batteries before the Toga and Del Mar. Belmont and Los Al have nice cards for the holiday. Time to celebrate Independence Day again by whacking prices and becoming financially free Skip.

Belmont Park Race 2: 6 Furlongs. Clm 30000n2L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Feast (9/2) – The Ductor will be salivating if this ridgling is near this morning line. He showed ability winning on debut and ran well on turf off a layoff last time out. He pressed a hot pace and weakened late. He’ll be fit returning to dirt today and is the one to beat in the Ductor’s opinion. His low % trainer should keep his price fair.

Belmont Park

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 25000

#6 Awesome Indra (5/1) – This filly is steadily progressing and is drawn nicely to the outside. She’s another one that should get under bet due to her trainer, but the Ductor likes her early pace edge and weight break on the field.

Race 7: 1 1/4 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.Alw 92000n1x

#2 Sister Otoole (10/1) – This filly looks to be sitting on a big one. She rallied wide to finish a good 2nd behind the favorite last time and galloped out nicely. The added distance should be her friend and there aren’t any world beaters in here.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Saturday, June 12

Exciting horse race start at Belmont Park with multiple jockeys and horses bursting from the starting gates.

No bueno yesterday swinging for the fences. Not the best Saturday card at Belmont, but many good betting races. Big day today, Let’s Ride.

Race 5: 1 Mile. S.OC 45000n2x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #6 Durkin’s Call (8/1) – Stretching back out to his best distance 2nd off the claim for Atras, he ran huge last time at Belmont with a brutal trip. He was wide the entire turn then stuck behind horses in the stretch. He galloped out best and has a major shot in here.

Belmont Park

Race 6: 1 1/16 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.Mdn 90k

#4 Bella Jenshea (10/1) – She ran well in her debut at Tampa and has had some time off since. Her work tab is eye catching  and she’ll be a major overlay with unknown connections. She’s also one of the few 4-year-olds in the field.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) OC 80000n2x

#3 Goul (6/1) – This gelding was favored last time off a short break vs many of the same contenders in here. He had no chance having to check sharply while he was making his move mid stretch. With a cleaner trip today, he’ll have every chance and will be a better price.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Friday, June 4

A group of racehorses competing on a grassy track at Belmont Park during a horse race.

The Ductor got a little over zealous with his bombs Thursday, but he’ll never apologize for going for the gullet. The weather makes Belmont Park’s card iffy, but the stakes should stay on the turf. Let’s Ride.

Belmont Park Race 7: 6½ Furlongs. G2 True North Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 Phat Man (6/1)#1 Firenze Fire (2/1) would be the one to beat on a fast Belmont track, but he doesn’t like a likely muddy surface. The Conductor really likes this gelding off a tough trip last time stuck on the inside. His race two back beats this group and the Conductor likes the rider switch to Rosario. #5 Looking at Bikinis (7/2) will be the lone backup the Ductor uses.

Belmont Park

Race 8: 7 Furlongs. F.G3 Bed o’ Roses Stakes

#8 Estilo Talentoso (9/2) – This filly has run well behind Kimari and Gamine in her last two starts. There aren’t any monsters in this field and she draws well to the outside. The Conductor doesn’t see her being bet the way she should as well.

Race 9: 1 1/4 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.G2 New York Stakes

The Ductor doesn’t have a strong opinion in here, here are the Contenders he’ll be using:
#9 Thundering Nights (6/1), #5 harvey’s Lil Goil (3/1). #2 Virgina Joy (10/1), #1 Magic Attitude (6/1), #12 Always Shopping (8/1).

Belmont Park Race 10: 2 Miles. (Turf) G2 Belmont Gold Cup Stakes

#8 Baron Samedi (8/5) – He looks like a clear standout to the Ductor. If he doesn’t win, nothing would surprise him.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Saturday, May 22

Horses racing at Belmont Park with jockeys in colorful silks on a dirt track.

Decent Friday #Gullet shot coming home at 21/1 at Belmont Park. Is that any good? Skip, skip, whack, whack, skip. The Ductor’s got a few more up his sleeve today. Let’s Ride

Race 6: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) S.MC 40000

#7 Rogue Leader (6/1) – He ran very well last time even though he was keen and fighting the rider most of the way. Taking the blinkers off and being clipped since, he should be more relaxed today.

#3 Jack’s Dream (10/1) – This gelding was well bet in his debut and did some running after breaking slowly. 1st time Lasix and adding the blinkers today, the Conductor sees him taking a giant leap forward.

Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. Clm 20000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Even Thunder (20/1) – The bomb the Conductor likes today, his races in the mid-Atlantic circuit fit with this group and you can ignore his last race where he was rank in the slop. Dropping in class and returning to his best surface and distance today, he can light up the tote.

Belmont Park

Race 8: 6½ Furlongs. F.S.Alw 80000n1x

#6 Trinni Luck (6/1) – She won nicely in her debut at Belmont Park in the slop last year and for a trainer that is only 3%. Now in the Rudy Rod barn, she’s working nicely off the bench and could surprise at a price. She’s the wild card in here.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Friday, May 21

Dynamic image of thoroughbred horses racing on a grassy track, showcasing multiple jockeys in colorful silks during a competitive event.

Sweet Larissa getting the job done at 4/1 made it a solid Thursday at Belmont for the Ductor. Similar strategy today, the Conductor doesn’t love the card. Narrow the Scope and fire. Skip.

Race 2: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 40000n2L

#11 Pie Killer (7/2) – Dropping in class and shortening in distance, Johnny V will send her from the outside post. She’ll be very tough to pass without much other speed in here.

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) Alw 50000s

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Scocciatore (10/1) – The Conductor liked his effort last time, where he was very game down the lane. He steps up in class 2nd off the layoff, but all of the Contenders in here have question marks. He should sit a favorable trip behind dueling leaders.

Belmont Park

Race 7: 1 Mile. F.S.Mdn 75k

*Scratched, Brutal #1 U Guys Are No Fun (8/1) – She ran sneaky well at Belmont in her debut traveling wide and closing behind a slow pace. She galloped out in front of that group and looks like one that will improve stretching out to a mile. She gets a major jockey upgrade today and Englehart is 26% this year with runners going from a sprint to a route.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Thursday, May 13

Horses and jockeys racing out of the starting gate at Belmont Park, showcasing a competitive horse racing event.

What a week in horse racing. Finally, Belmont is back then its down to Maryland for Friday and Saturday. Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 1 1/16 Mile. Clm 16000n2L

#5 Scotty (6/1) – He broke his maiden two back with a figure that makes him competitive with this group. Last time, he was well bet vs much tougher and didn’t run a step off the layoff in the slop. He gets a rider upgrade to Saez today and gets back to a fast track.

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. Clm 50000

#1 Happy Farm (7/2) – Dropping in class 1st off the claim for Atras, he’s the fastest horse in the field, loves Belmont, and is very tough whenever drops to the claiming ranks. Irad hops aboard as well.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. Alw 92000n1x

#3 Binkster (5/1) – He ran very well off the layoff last time setting a hot pace while dueling. He’s the lone speed in this race and is very dangerous wire to wire candidate.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) S.Mdn 75k

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 King Moonracer (10/1) – To say this boy was rank last time is an understatement. He fought Bravo past the 2nd call and still made a strong move to the lead before tiring. He’s stepping up in class, but the Conductor loves the cutback in distance and is hoping they let him roll today. There is some natural ability here.

Belmont

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Saturday, May 8

Horses racing at Belmont Park with jockeys in colorful silks during a race event.

The Conductor loves this card at Belmont Park. Let’s hurt them today. Skip!

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. G3 Runhappy Stakes

#4 Firenze Fire (4/5) – They’re not beating him over the Belmont surface.

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) S.Mdn 75k

#3 Danzigwiththestars (10/1) – He ran some very solid races last year and has been gelded since. Adding blinkers and lasix for the 1st time, he’s working well entering today. A step forward from last year can put him in the winner’s circle.

#12 Noble Journey (10/1) – Another 1st time gelding adding lasix, this colt’s workouts caught the Conductor’s eye as well. Cutting back to a sprint today, he ran well routing in his last try and was favored at the windows.

Race 6: 1 1/16 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.G3 Beaugay Stakes

#1 Harvey’s Lil Goil (8/5) – Making her first start as a 4-year-old, this filly is nails. Natural maturity will make her tough to beat.

Race 7: 6½ Furlongs. F.G3 Vagrancy H.

#3 Victim of Love (4/1) – Her 3rd in the Ballerina last summer was the best race this field has to offer. She got a prep under her belt last time and looks primed for her best today. She should sit a favorable trip, up close to a moderate pace.

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Mdn 90k

*Gullet Shot of the Day #10 Bonkers (12/1) – Heavily bet at Belmont Park last time making her first start for Maker, she ran well with a tough trip. Going longer 2nd off the layoff as a 4-year-old, she can upset this highly competitive field.

Belmont Park

Race 9: 1 1/8 Mile. G3 Peter Pan Stakes

#4 Wolfie’s Dynaghost (9/2) – This colt won his debut last year in a key race for a barn that never wins 1st out. That’s a sign of a very talented runner and has been a very profitable angle for the Conductor.

Race 10: 1 3/8 Mile. (Inner Turf) G1 Man o’ War Stakes

#8 Gufo (2/1) – The Conductor can’t get away from this colt. Making his first start as a 4-year-old, he’s yet to run a bad race and has a thunderous late punch.

Race 11: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Mdn 90k

#7 Before You (12/1) – Stretching out and trying grass for the first time, she’s been well bet in both her sprint races. Working bullets over this Belmont Park surface and getting a rider upgrade to Rosario, she’s very interesting.

Belmont Park: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Sunday, November 1

Exciting horse race start at Belmont Park with multiple jockeys and horses bursting from the starting gates.

Let’s end the Belmont Park weekend strong. Skip.

Race 5: 1 Mile. S.Mdn 70k

#2 Polpis (4/1) – In an open race, the Conductor likes this 1st time starter. He’s working well at Belmont Park and Irad takes the mount for a barn he rarely rides for.

Race 6: 11/16 Mile. (Likely OFF Turf) Clm 30000n2L

#9 One Eyed Jack (6/1) – Taking a big drop in class, he go cooked in a hot pace last time. He has the best dirt form in the group.

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. F.Pumpkin Pie Stakes

#6 Never Enough Time (3/1) – Anyone can win this race, but the Conductor will land on the lone speed. With a nice outside draw they’ll have to come and catch her.

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Likely OFF Turf) Chelsey Flower Stakes

*Sabbath Sunday Prayer of the Day #3 Zeyaraat (15/1) – She won her debut at Belmont Park nicely on dirt and ran well with a troubled trip last time. Running well sprinting on the dirt and then routing on yielding turf in her first two starts is not easy to do.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. F.S.Alw 72000n1x

*Back Two Back Whacks of the Day #6 Miss Jimmy (12/1) – If we get anything near 12/1 on this filly the Conductor will take out a loan to bet her. We might because of the connections, but on paper the Conductor would argue she’s the one to beat. Cutting back to a sprint today she has every chance.

Belmont Park

Belmont Park: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Saturday, October 31

Black and white image of horses racing at a track with jockeys, showcasing the excitement of horse racing events.

Belmont Park time, Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 1½ Mile. (Turf) F. Zagora Stakes.

Cambeliza (12/1) – This race is wide open, but this is the price the Conductor likes most. She’s improving as a 4-year old and showed a strong kick last time closing into a slow pace at Keeneland

Race 7: 6½ Furlongs. S.Alw 72000n1x

#4 Jerry Nipper (5/2) – Bullet works at Belmont off the layoff for Pletcher, he smells like one that runs off the screen.

#1 Notorious Flirt (10/1) – 1st time gelding off a long layoff, he’s working well for Linda Rice. He looks to get a nice trip with a hot pace to run at.

#7 Troubleshooter (15/1) – 2nd off the layoff and cutting back to a sprint after a nice win last time, he looks to get a nice trip and has upside.

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Inner Turf) Awad Stakes

*#9 Heat of the Night (10/1) – Dropping out of a Grade 1 race where he had a troubled trip, this gelding has talent and should be a fair price.

Race 9: 7 Furlongs. G3 Bold Ruler H.

#2 Share the Ride (5/2) – He has an early pace advantage over this group. He’s the one to beat.

*#4 Arch Cat (10/1) – Far back behind a slow pace last time at Belmont, the Conductor will forgive that effort. He loves to win and his figures fit with this group. Anything close to 10/1 would get the Conductor tingly.

Belmont Park

Race 10: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.S.MC 40000

#7 Let Artie (15/1) – She’s bred for the lawn and this trainer can hit with big prices on debut. She’s working well at Belmont and Cancel has been riding his best.

Belmont Park: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Thursday, October 29

A horse with a jockey in red gear standing on the dirt racetrack at Belmont Park.

The Conductor really likes the latter half of this Belmont card. Skip.

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. F.S.Clm 25000

#7 Awesome Alana (3/1) – Cutting back to a sprint and facing weaker today, she looks to get a perfect trip stalking dueling frontrunners.

Race 6: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) MC 40000

#8 Mokoto (8/1) – Shipping in from Parx, his figures fit with this group and shortening a furlong will help him. The Conductor likes that Saez takes the mount for a barn he never rides for as well.

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. F.Mdn 80k

#1 Malibu Anthem (8/1) – Anyone can win in this 6-horse field including the longest shot on the board. She had a brutal trip last time and is cutting back to a sprint and switching to dirt today. She’s proven she can run on dirt, gets a rider upgrade, adds blinkers and will be fit 2nd off the layoff.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) OC 80000b

*Throat Shot of the Day #3 White Flag (8/1) – Ignore his last race on synthetic, he switches back to sprinting on the turf today where he runs his best. He’s 4/8 lifetime at Belmont and has serious back class. 8/1 would be an delicious overlay.

Belmont Park

Race 9: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 40000n2L

#1 Hurricane Breeze (2/1) – Dropping in class and shortening a furlong, the Conductor doesn’t see anyone in this field beating him.
