Gulfstream Park: Late Pick 4 Key Horses for Sunday, December 13

Gulfstream Park at Hallandale, Florida, featuring palm trees and vibrant flowers leading to the race course entrance.

The weekend is going fine at Gulfstream Park, nothing to see here.

It only takes one, Let’s Ride.

Race 8: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.C 62500b

*Gullet Shot of the Day #6 Lagartha (8/1) – She was flying down the lane and galloped out huge cutting back in distance last time. 2nd off the layoff today at Gulfstream Park, she tries sprinting again and Saez hops aboard.

Gulfstream Park

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. OC 62500n2x

#3 Take Command (8/1) – He’s coming off a long break, but has figures that fit with this group and is working well. The Conductor doesn’t like the favorites in here and Saez taking the mount for Pompay catches his eye as well.

Race 10: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 50000

#3 Sir Seamus (15/1) – He got cooked dueling in a hot pace last time off a short break. 2nd off the layoff today, there isn’t anyone in this field that can challenge him early. He’s shortening to his best distance and may be able to steal this one at a big number.

Race 11: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Mdn 50k

#6 Imagery (10/1) – She showed early speed in her debut in a race taken off the turf. She’s adding blinkers today, facing a weaker field and will get to try turf for the first time. The Conductor sees her taking a big step forward at Gulfstream Park.

Gulfstream Park: Key Horses for Saturday, December 12

Horses and jockeys exiting the starting gate at Gulfstream Park during a horse race.

The Conductor is dumpster diving after his performance Friday at Gulfstream Park. Luckily, he found Saturday’s racing form in the bottom of the can. Juicy Prices, Let’s Ride.

Race 7: 1 Mile. Mdn 50k

#2 Will Take Control (9/2) – The Conductor likes his work tab, including a bullet three back. Whenever Zayas takes the mount for Kiesaris its a good sign as well.

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.My Charmer Stakes

*Double Barrel Buckshot #6 Madita (10/1) – Throw out her last race on synthetic, her turf form fits right in with this group. Her morning line would be a delicious price.

#7 Piedi Bianchi (15/1) – She’s in good dirt form and is bred to be better on the lawn. She hasn’t run terribly in her two prior turf efforts with troubled trips and she’s dangerous if her dirt form transfers.

gulfstream park

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. G3 Harlan’s Holiday Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 Tatweej (4/1) – If we can get 4/1, the Conductor will back up the caboose and unload at the windows. He’s steadily progressing for Pletcher and working well coming into today. Most importantly, there is no speed in this race and he can dictate the terms on the lead.

Race 10: 1 1/8 Mile. (Turf) G2 F. Lauderdale Stakes

#5 Channel Cat (15/1) – Unlike the 9th, the major contenders in here are all speed horses. This horse is working well off the layoff and has been running well vs very classy Grade 1 horses. He looks to get a nice trip in here too.

Race 11: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) MC 50000

#8 Dassult Mirage (15/1) – He ran a good 2nd in the slop in a race rained off the turf at Gulfstream Park in his debut. He’s aggressively moved up in class here and will get  to try the surface he’s meant for today. Emisael taking the mount is a good sign as well.

Gulfstream Park: Late Pick 4 Key Horses for Friday, December 11

A diverse crowd of people cheering and celebrating at an outdoor event, with some holding phones and wearing hats.

A 9/2 winner in the last and a couple of 2nds Thursday at Gulfstream made for an ok day. Let’s get a price home to head into the weekend in style. Skip.

Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Clm 35000nl2

#8 Mercy Mercy (15/1) – He’s returning to turf after a poor effort on dirt last time, but that was off a long break. 2nd off the layoff today he should take a big step forward and his turf efforts in New York last year fit with this group,

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 6250n2L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Beautiful Rosie (8/1) – She ran well to win at 9/1 in her debut at Gulfstream and then didn’t do any running trying turf last time. Dropping in class today, switching back to dirt and getting a weight break, she has upside.

gulfstream

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) OC 75000n1x

#4 Whatmakessammyrun (2/1) – He ran well vs stakes company last time and his maiden breaker two back at Gulfstream was very fast. The Conductor likes the added distance for him today as well.

Race 10: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) OC 25000n1x

#10 Cash Now (8/1)#5 Pay Any Price (9/5) is clearly the one to beat, but this gelding grabs the Conductor’s attention. Steadily progressing and exiting a strong win at Churchill on the dirt, he’s trying turf for the first time. He’s bred to be much better on turf and Cox is always dangerous.

Gulfstream Park: Key Horses for Thursday, December 10

A diverse crowd of people cheering and celebrating at an outdoor event, with some holding phones and wearing hats.

Hopefully a few passengers used London Werewolf at 7/1 on top in the 6th Wednesday. After that, it was short prices and a late pick 4 sweep for Irad. Disgusting. The Conductor will stay at Gulfstream Park all week. Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. F.S.OC 12500n1x

#8 Bramble Berry (5/1) – Drawn well to the outside, she’s switching back to dirt today where she’s clearly her best. She has good early pace figures in a race without a lot of early speed and gets a rider upgrade.

Gulfstream Park Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Clm 35000b

*Gullet Shot of the Day #10 Soothing (8/1) – Dropping in class and shipping in from Santa Anita, she’s the lone speed in the race. Leparoux better put her on the lead.

Gulfstream Park

Race 8: 1 Mile. OC 75000n1x

#3 Real Talk (3/1) – The Conductor liked his maiden breaker and he caught a sloppy track last time vs stakes company. Stretching out for the first time today, he has upside.

Race 9: 1 Mile (Turf) OC 25000n2x

#3 Beam of Light (7/2) – Taking on winners for the first time 3rd off the layoff, the Conductor liked his maiden breaker at Gulfstream. This isn’t a very tough group to crack.

Race 10: 1 Mile (Turf) F.Clm 20000n2L

#9 All About Kathern (9/2) – She’s steadily progressing and is more lightly raced than the favorites in this group. She can make the jump forward.

Gulfstream Park: Key Horses for Wednesday, December 9

A horse racing at Gulfstream Park with a scoreboard displaying race results in the background.

Down to Gulfstream Park we go to start the racing week. Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 6 Furlongs. Clm 6250n3L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #9 R Boy Evens (15/1) – Making his 2nd start for trainer Peter Walder, he dueled vs tougher setting a hot pace last time at Gulfstream Park. He has past races that can beat this group and anything near this morning line is a must bet.

Gulfstream Park

#1 London Werewolf (20/1) – Another bomb that fits with this group, he hates to win but loves to hit the board. Ignore his last race on a sloppy track, the Conductor will key him underneath in the trifecta.

Race 7: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 16000

#3 Another (10/1) – Stretching back out to his best distance today, he’s been facing tougher fields in New York. The Conductor likes that Zayas takes the mount for a small barn he never rides for as well.

#4 Zap Daddy (6/1) – He had trouble and made an early move into a hot pace last time at Gulfstream Park. Two back he ran well behind a runaway frontrunner with an easy trip. You must use him here.

Race 8: 1 Mile. OC 25000n1x

#1 Geonosis (8/1) – This colt has won at 9/1 and 7/1 in two of his last three starts. He continues to steadily improve and will be another nice number in this spot.

#2 Glory of Florida (5/1) – He’s another colt on the rise that can absolutely beat the favorite in here.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 35000b

#9 Zero Gravity (15/1) – He had a no chance trip last time and his race two back was on a sloppy track. If you ignore those efforts, he fits right in with this group. Saez hops aboard as well.

Race 10: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 16000

#12 Oblio’s Wish (5/1) – The Conductor really likes his race two back. He draws a tough post but is still playable if that improves his price enough.

Gulfstream Park Picks: Key Horses for Wednesday, December 2nd

Three horses racing at Gulfstream Park with jockeys in colorful silks and a large statue in the background.

Another good Sunday at Del Mar for the Conductor to wrap up the weekend. Moving forward, the train will hit Aqueduct and the Fairgrounds during December, and he’ll be adding Gulfstream on Wednesdays. Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 5½ Furlongs. F.MC 16000

#4 Pitufina (6/1) – 2nd off the layoff today, she had a slow start and ran a decent 3rd last time at Gulfstream. Saez takes the mount and Amador Sanchez runners usually improve 2nd off the bench (14% with a +$3.22 ROI This year).

Race 7: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Clm 20000n3L

#9 Helena Beat (5/2) – She looks tough to beat.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. OC 25000n1x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Trappezoid (5/1) – Cutting back to a sprint after pressing a hot pace going a mile at Gulfstream last time, she’s an easy bet.

Gulfstream

Race 9: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.OC 25000n1x

#1 Defy Expectations (6/1) – The Conductor thought she ran very well last time pressing a hot pace over yielding turf. She’s steadily progressing in the Brittany Russell barn.

Race 10: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 20000

#6 Mister Kelley (5/1) – 3rd off the layoff, she is improving and gets a weight break today. Shipping in from Remington, her price should stay fair.

He’s Baaaaaaaaccccckkkkkkkk: Pegasus World Cup Day Plays

Horses and jockeys racing at the Pegasus World Cup Invitational event with a logo overlay.

He’s Baaaaaaaaaccccccccckkkkkkkkkkk. The Conductor apologizes for his recent absence, but not really. The train went off the rails and needed some maintenance, that’s just part of ductor life. Nothing a few weeks back at the station can’t fix. You passengers didn’t think he’d miss the Pegasus World Cup did you? Silly passengers, after all this time you still can’t figure out the Conductor. Great card today at Gulfstream, big fields and the Conductor is salivating. Time to take a nice slow ride THROTTLE IT! Let’s Ride.

pegasus world cup

Race 7: 1 Mile. G3 Fred W. Hooper Stakes

This is a very intriguing race to start the Pick 6 sequence. We’ll have to see if the dirt is a speed highway, but this looks like a meltdown race with a blistering pace on paper. The Conductor will turn to the closers.

#5 Phat Man (10/1) – Exiting a good 2nd last start, splitting War Story and Bode Express (who we’ll talk about later), he looks to get a great trip with Irad aboard. The Conductor will key him in the exacta as well.

#7 Tale of Silence (10/1) – He’s had time off after running a dud last start. His race two back closing into a slow pace and finishing 1 ¾ lengths behind Maximum Security makes him a must use.

Other contenders #8 Free Enterprise (4/1), #10 Gray Magician (6/1), and the Conductor can see #9 Olympic Village (20/1) hitting the board underneath.

Race 8: 1½ Mile. (Turf) F.G3 La Prevoyante Stakes

#6 Lady Paname (3/1) – She’s clearly the one to beat from the Conductor’s perspective and will single her on most tickets. The long layoff doesn’t concern him with Chad.

#3 Kelsey’s Cross (8/1) – This filly is making her first start as a four-year-old and has sneaky back class. She’s run behind Cambier Parc and Concrete Rose and this field is much weaker than what she’s used to.

#4 Mean Mary (8/1) – She’s the controlling speed and the Conductor likes her steady progression.

Race 9: 7 Furlongs. F.G2 Inside Information Stakes

Another race with what looks like a hot pace, the Conductor sees only 3.

#7 Spiced Perfection (8/5) – The heavy favorite, she’d clearly the class of the field and can dictate her own trip.

#6 Nonna Madeline (8/1) – She didn’t live up to the hype last year but took care of business in her comeback race. The Conductor thinks she has the potential to take a big step forward.

#11 Pink Sands (8/1) – This mare is going to get a good setup like she did in her last victory and loves Gulfstream.

Race 10: 1½ Mile. (Turf) G3 W. L. McKnight Stakes

Nothing creative, the logical contenders, no strong opinion: #1 Red Night (3/1), #7 Cross Border (9/2), #8 Pumpkin Rumble (8/1), #12 American Tattoo (7/2)

Race 11: 1 3/16 Mile. (Turf) G1 Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational Stakes

The Conductor is going to toss #12 Magic Wand (7/2) from that post. She’s classy and can win, but loves to run 2nd and will be hammered at the windows. There is a trainer named Chad Brown you may have heard of who will win this race.

#3 Without Parole (4/1) – He ran well behind Uni on Breeders Cup Day last time and the Conductor thinks he’s a cut above this field. Most of his money will go through him.

#6 Instilled Regard (10/1) – The Conductor has always been a fan of this horse and is improving on the turf.

#11 Sacred Life (12/1) – He’s a hard knocker and the Conductor will use him defensively.

Race 12: 1 1/8 Mile. G1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes

This race obviously completely changed with the scratch of Omaha Beach, but the Conductor thinks its now a much better betting race.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Seeking the Soul (30/1) – He went off form last fall but has had a long time off and is training well. His 2nd behind Seeking the Soul in last years Pegasus behind City of life would win this year’s running and he has the most back class. The Conductor has a feeling he’s going to run a big one and will key him in the exacta and trifecta.

#12 Bode Express (30/1) – He won’t be that price, but he’ll be on the lone lead and has the talent to take them all the way around if he can tick off favorable fractions. He was fractious last start and went too fast early, but his race two back and run behind Maximum Security as a 3-year-old show he has the talent.

#6 Higher Power (6/1) – He ran a very good 3rd in the BC Classic and there aren’t any Vino Rosso’s or Mckinzie’s in this field.

#10 Mucho Gusto (9/2) – The Conductor can’t toss him with his form against Maximum Security.

Glad to be back.

Race 14: 1 1/8 Mile. FlaDerby-G1 Xpressbet Florida Derby Grade I

*Never a Doubt Lock of the Day 1 Hidden Scroll (5/2) – He set a torrid pace last start and won’t have that problem today. With a better ride from Castellano the Conductor sees him putting on a show and becoming your derby favorite.

The Conductor’s Must Win to Survive Plays at Gulfstream Park

An outdoor shopping center featuring palm trees and architectural structures under a dusk sky.

The Conductor does not want to play the ponies today.  He wants to suck his thumb and scream at the replay of the Tennessee “foul” at the end of the game.  But, he is the Conductor.  This is the cross he bears. He must get back on the horse not only for himself, but for his loyal passengers.  his is the life he chose. Gulfstream Park Time.

Race 2: 7 Furlongs. S.OC 12500n1x
