Belmont Park: Key Horses for Monday, July 5

Silhouette of a horse rearing against a backdrop of the American flag.

Hello passengers. The Ductor was out in the wilderness for the week. Always nice to recharge the batteries before the Toga and Del Mar. Belmont and Los Al have nice cards for the holiday. Time to celebrate Independence Day again by whacking prices and becoming financially free Skip.

Belmont Park Race 2: 6 Furlongs. Clm 30000n2L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Feast (9/2) – The Ductor will be salivating if this ridgling is near this morning line. He showed ability winning on debut and ran well on turf off a layoff last time out. He pressed a hot pace and weakened late. He’ll be fit returning to dirt today and is the one to beat in the Ductor’s opinion. His low % trainer should keep his price fair.

Belmont Park

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 25000

#6 Awesome Indra (5/1) – This filly is steadily progressing and is drawn nicely to the outside. She’s another one that should get under bet due to her trainer, but the Ductor likes her early pace edge and weight break on the field.

Race 7: 1 1/4 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.Alw 92000n1x

#2 Sister Otoole (10/1) – This filly looks to be sitting on a big one. She rallied wide to finish a good 2nd behind the favorite last time and galloped out nicely. The added distance should be her friend and there aren’t any world beaters in here.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Saturday, June 12

Exciting horse race start at Belmont Park with multiple jockeys and horses bursting from the starting gates.

No bueno yesterday swinging for the fences. Not the best Saturday card at Belmont, but many good betting races. Big day today, Let’s Ride.

Race 5: 1 Mile. S.OC 45000n2x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #6 Durkin’s Call (8/1) – Stretching back out to his best distance 2nd off the claim for Atras, he ran huge last time at Belmont with a brutal trip. He was wide the entire turn then stuck behind horses in the stretch. He galloped out best and has a major shot in here.

Belmont Park

Race 6: 1 1/16 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.Mdn 90k

#4 Bella Jenshea (10/1) – She ran well in her debut at Tampa and has had some time off since. Her work tab is eye catching  and she’ll be a major overlay with unknown connections. She’s also one of the few 4-year-olds in the field.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) OC 80000n2x

#3 Goul (6/1) – This gelding was favored last time off a short break vs many of the same contenders in here. He had no chance having to check sharply while he was making his move mid stretch. With a cleaner trip today, he’ll have every chance and will be a better price.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Saturday, May 22

Horses racing at Belmont Park with jockeys in colorful silks on a dirt track.

Decent Friday #Gullet shot coming home at 21/1 at Belmont Park. Is that any good? Skip, skip, whack, whack, skip. The Ductor’s got a few more up his sleeve today. Let’s Ride

Race 6: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) S.MC 40000

#7 Rogue Leader (6/1) – He ran very well last time even though he was keen and fighting the rider most of the way. Taking the blinkers off and being clipped since, he should be more relaxed today.

#3 Jack’s Dream (10/1) – This gelding was well bet in his debut and did some running after breaking slowly. 1st time Lasix and adding the blinkers today, the Conductor sees him taking a giant leap forward.

Race 7: 1 1/16 Mile. Clm 20000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Even Thunder (20/1) – The bomb the Conductor likes today, his races in the mid-Atlantic circuit fit with this group and you can ignore his last race where he was rank in the slop. Dropping in class and returning to his best surface and distance today, he can light up the tote.

Belmont Park

Race 8: 6½ Furlongs. F.S.Alw 80000n1x

#6 Trinni Luck (6/1) – She won nicely in her debut at Belmont Park in the slop last year and for a trainer that is only 3%. Now in the Rudy Rod barn, she’s working nicely off the bench and could surprise at a price. She’s the wild card in here.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Friday, May 21

Dynamic image of thoroughbred horses racing on a grassy track, showcasing multiple jockeys in colorful silks during a competitive event.

Sweet Larissa getting the job done at 4/1 made it a solid Thursday at Belmont for the Ductor. Similar strategy today, the Conductor doesn’t love the card. Narrow the Scope and fire. Skip.

Race 2: 7 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 40000n2L

#11 Pie Killer (7/2) – Dropping in class and shortening in distance, Johnny V will send her from the outside post. She’ll be very tough to pass without much other speed in here.

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. (Inner Turf) Alw 50000s

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Scocciatore (10/1) – The Conductor liked his effort last time, where he was very game down the lane. He steps up in class 2nd off the layoff, but all of the Contenders in here have question marks. He should sit a favorable trip behind dueling leaders.

Belmont Park

Race 7: 1 Mile. F.S.Mdn 75k

*Scratched, Brutal #1 U Guys Are No Fun (8/1) – She ran sneaky well at Belmont in her debut traveling wide and closing behind a slow pace. She galloped out in front of that group and looks like one that will improve stretching out to a mile. She gets a major jockey upgrade today and Englehart is 26% this year with runners going from a sprint to a route.

Belmont Park: Key Horses for Thursday, May 13

Horses and jockeys racing out of the starting gate at Belmont Park, showcasing a competitive horse racing event.

What a week in horse racing. Finally, Belmont is back then its down to Maryland for Friday and Saturday. Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 1 1/16 Mile. Clm 16000n2L

#5 Scotty (6/1) – He broke his maiden two back with a figure that makes him competitive with this group. Last time, he was well bet vs much tougher and didn’t run a step off the layoff in the slop. He gets a rider upgrade to Saez today and gets back to a fast track.

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. Clm 50000

#1 Happy Farm (7/2) – Dropping in class 1st off the claim for Atras, he’s the fastest horse in the field, loves Belmont, and is very tough whenever drops to the claiming ranks. Irad hops aboard as well.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. Alw 92000n1x

#3 Binkster (5/1) – He ran very well off the layoff last time setting a hot pace while dueling. He’s the lone speed in this race and is very dangerous wire to wire candidate.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. (Turf) S.Mdn 75k

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 King Moonracer (10/1) – To say this boy was rank last time is an understatement. He fought Bravo past the 2nd call and still made a strong move to the lead before tiring. He’s stepping up in class, but the Conductor loves the cutback in distance and is hoping they let him roll today. There is some natural ability here.

Aqueduct: Late Pick 4 Key Horses for Sunday, December 13

Horses racing on the track at Aqueduct Racetrack with spectators in the background.

Let’s end the weekend strong at Aqueduct. Skip

Aqueduct Race 6: 7 Furlongs. F.S.Clm 25000

#3 Cartwheel (9/2) – Taking a big drop in class here, there is absolutely no early speed in this race. She does her best running on the lead and if she’s forwardly placed, she’ll have every chance.

Race 7: 1 Mile. Clm 16000

*Atom Bomb Whack of the Day #5 Brush Country (30/1)#9 Flowers for Lisa (5/2) is probably the one to beat, but the Conductor will be keying this bomb in the exacta and tri. Dropping in class and stretching out to a route for the first time in a long time, he has numbers that fit for this level. He will be forwardly placed and will be an overlay because of his low % trainer.

Aqueduct

Race 8: 1 Mile. F.OC 62500n2x

#5 Daphne Moon (2/1) – She showed talent as a two-year-old and ran a good 2nd witha strong late pace figure last time off the bench at Aqueduct. 2nd off the layoff today, the Conductor thinks she’ll handle this field.

Aqueduct Race 9: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 16000n2L

#1 Well Brush Mytooth (8/1) – The Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion in here, but this girl ran well off the layoff last time and should step forward today. She looks to get a favorable trip as well, up close to a moderate pace.

Aqueduct: Late Pick 5 Key Horses for Thursday, December 10

A competitive horse race begins at Aqueduct with multiple jockeys and horses in action, showcasing the excitement of thoroughbred racing.

What a late pick 5 sequence for a Thursday at Aqueduct with full, competitive fields. What more could a Ductor ask for? Skip.

Race 5: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Mdn 80k

*Throat Shot Thursday Whack of the Day #6 Palm Court (15/1) – She was bet for favoritism in her debut and didn’t run a step. Then last time in a race taken off the turf, she ran decent with a very wide trip. Stretching out for the first time and switching back to her preferred surface today, the Conductor like her upside.

Aqueduct

Race 6: 1 Mile. S.Alw 72000n1x

#5 Advanced Strategy (8/1) – Switching back to the Aqueduct dirt today, he ran a very strong 2nd last time closing into a slow pace. He’s shown he can run on dirt and looks to get a nice setup here with a hot pace to run at.

Race 7: 1 Mile. Clm 16000n2L

#6 Dangerous Edge (6/1) – Stretching out to a route for the first-time 2nd off the claim for Noda, he gets the Conductor’s spider senses tingling. He has the figs to beat this group and looks to get a good trip.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) F.S.Alw 72000n1x

#5 Fresco (8/5) – A beaten favorite in her last two starts at Aqueduct makes the Conductor uneasy, but she should beat this field. If she doesn’t win, anyone can. She moved early last time and she gets a rider upgrade to Rosario here.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. MC 20000

#3 Lady’s Boy (10/1) – He was well bet in his debut at Saratoga and showed brief before fading on a sloppy track. He’ll get her first try on a fast track today and could surprise at a big number.

Aqueduct: Late Pick 4 Key Horses for Thursday, December 3rd

Horses and jockeys starting a race at Aqueduct Racetrack with starting gates open.

Well, if Gulfstream Wednesdays are going to go like that, the Conductor may keep the train out of Florida. Nothing like a little hole to start the week to sharpen the axe. To Aqueduct we go. Let’s Ride.

Race 6: 1 1/8 Mile. (Turf) Mdn 80k

*Gullet Shot of the Day #12 Dreams of Tomorrow (6/1) – 3rd off the layoff and switching back to turf, his lone turf effort was a very strong 4th in a key race at Keeneland. He has enough early speed to work out a trip from the 12 post.

Aqueduct

Race 7: 1 Mile. Clm 20000

#1/1A Felix in Fabula/Flowers for Lisa (6/1) – Both the entries are dropping in class and have the numbers to win beat this field on a good day.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) S.Alw 72000n1x

#10 On the Couch (4/1) – Ignore the last race at Aqueduct on a sloppy track, his prior two turf efforts were very strong closing into slow paces.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. F.MC 25000

#6 Remoane (4/1) – She took a big step forward last time at Aqueduct when she dropped to this level. She ran behind a odds on favorite who is far superior to anyone in this group.

Aqueduct: Late Pick 4 Key Horses for Saturday, November 21

Horses competing in a race at Aqueduct Racetrack with jockeys in colorful silks.

Aqueduct time, Let’s Ride.

Race 7: 1 1/17 Mile. (Outer Turf) Clm 30000n2L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 K. K. Ichikawa (6/1) – He ran ok closing into a moderate pace last time and had a strong gallop out. The extra 1/16 of a mile will help him today and Rosario takes the mount for Nevin, who he rarely rides for.

aqueduct

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. S.Alw 72000n1x

#8 Riken (6/1)#7 Saratoga Pal (8/5) is clearly the one to beat in here, but the Conductor likes this gelding as the best of the speed. He has a strong early pace advantage in here and you can throw out his last race on a sloppy track. He’ll be the one to catch turning for home.

Race 9: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) G3 Red Smith Stakes

#8 Ziyad (9/2) – He didn’t have the easiest of trips last time parked wide behind a slow pace and still finished well. He had been facing much stronger across the pond and should improve in his 2nd start in the US.

#5 North Dakota (10/1) – Also exiting the Sycamore Stakes, he was stuck on the rail in the stretch. He would have been right there with a clean trip and he continues to progress.

Race 10: 1 1/16 Mile. (Outer Turf) S.MC 40000

#7 Open Lengths (10/1) – His debut was rained off the turf along with his last and he had a sloppy track effort in between. He will finally get a chance on the surface he was meant for today and he adds blinkers. In an open race, he has upside.

Aqueduct: Late Pick 4 Key Horses for Friday, November 20

Horses and jockeys starting a race at Aqueduct Racetrack with starting gates open.

Should we whack the late pick 4 at Aqueduct passengers? I think we shall, multiple times. Skip.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. F.S.OC 40000n2x

#11 Speightstown Gal (6/1) – An 11 horse dirt sprint is just what the Ductor ordered on a Friday. This girl broke her maiden in the mud and has been narrowly missing on turf ever since. She has the early speed to put herself in a good position early and the dirt may move her up.

#1 Miss Jimmy (8/1) – This filly loves to win and is 5/6 at 6 furlongs. She would be in the 4/1 range with top connections, but with a low % rider she’ll likely stay around her morning line. That’s a type of horse the Conductor will always use.

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Outer Turf) Clm 35000n3L

*Looney Bin Bomb of the Day #7 Scoreswhenhewants (30/1) – Stretching out and switching to turf off a long layoff, his turf routes fit with this group. Granted he’s switching to a much weaker barn, but you’ll be compensated by the price. He can light up the trifecta.

Straitjacket GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHY

#9 Kid Mercury (10/1) – Another interesting price, he’s dropping to the claiming ranks for the first time and shortening in distance. Franco is 2/5 with a +$1.32 ROI teaming up with Motion in the last 60 days.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Alw 82000n1x

#5 Eye of a Soldier (4/1) – She’s run well in every start this year, including a good 3rd last time after setting a quick pace. She’s still learning and is versatile.

Race 10: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 16000n2L

*Force Feed Friday Whack of the Day #14 Tripp Road (12/1) – You must include #6 Well Brush Mytooth (5/1) in the Linda Rice barn for the first time, but this filly will be a much tastier price. She stumbled at the break last time at Aqueduct and was then up close to the pace going a mile. Turning back to a sprint today, she’ll be finishing strong, and her numbers fit with this group.
