It’s Thanksgiving at Del Mar and we have to find some way to pay for out feast. It’s a work day for us while most passengers rest. Skip

Race 5: 1 Mile. MC 20000

*Extra Stuffing Down Your Latch Whack of the Day #1 Mongol Altai (10/1) – 2nd off the layoff and adding blinkers today, he had no chance last time at Del Mar behind a tepid class. He’s been well backed at the windows in his last two and the Conductor sees him taking a big step forward today.

Del Mar

Race 6: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) F.G3 Red Carpet H.

#1 California Kook (5/1) – She’s facing a much weaker field today than her last 3 at Del Mar. Rosario takes the mount, which is a good sign.

#8 Blame Debbie (3/1) – In great form and shipping out west. She’s the most likely winner by far in the Conductor’s opinion.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. Clm 20000n3L

#1 Satchel de Ritches (8/1) – 1st off the claim for Bob Hess Jr and shipping in from Keeneland, he ran well last time and is facing weaker today. His numbers fit with this group.

#8 Call You Tomorrow (9/2) – Taking a big class drop and finally getting back to sprinting over the Del Mar dirt where he’s clearly his best, you must use him.

Race 8: 1 Mile. (Turf) OClm 50000

#4 Gregdar (10/1) – He had some trouble last time and is stretching out to a route for the first time. His pace figures suggest he’ll have no problem doing so and Rispoli stays in the irons.

The Conductor’s Thanksgiving Plays at Del Mar

The Conductor is thankful that the ponies run every day across the globe…….and his family.  Let’s make it a Del Mar holiday to remember, Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 1 1/8 Mile. Clm 50000

#1 Very Very Stella (7/2) – Dropping in class today, her even running style makes the Conductor think she’ll be able to get the distance and her best is faster than this group.  She’s working well and can beat the heavy favorite #2 El Huerfano.

Race 2: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Mdn 53k

*Turkey Gullet Stuffing Shot of the Day #5 Magical (9/2) – Her debut over this turf course was above par for this level and her best.  She gets back to 5 furlongs at Del Mar again today and she’s working like a good thing.

Del Mar

Race 3: 1 Mile. MC 32000

#5 Anvil Rock (5/1) – There is not much to like in this weak group, but the Conductor likes him best and he should be a decent price.  He’s faced tougher in his last two starts and his debut sprinting at this level was very impressive.  He closed from 17 lengths out of it that day to finish only 3 lengths beind the leader.  He has upside.

Race 4: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) OC 62500n2x

*Never a Doubt Thanksgiving Feast Lock #2 Majestic Eagle (7/2) – He’s dropping out of Grade 2 company where he ran a solid 4th setting a hot pace and fighting down the lane.  There is no other pace in this race and he should be able to get a comfortable lone lead today.  This is a no doubt about it gate to wire winner.

Del Mar

Race 5: 1 Mile. Clm 16000

#6 Typhoon Harry (7/2) – This group is dismally slow on paper for this level and this race has no pace.  This gelding’s early pace figures give him a big advantage over this group and the Conductor has no idea where else to turn.

Race 6: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) F.G3 Red Carpet H.

#3 Vexatious (3/1) – She’s the class of the field and her fastest race was over this Del Mar turf course at this distance.  She’s in good form and will be extremely tough to beat.

*Underneath Uppercut #1 Victress (20/1) – Her late pace figs on dirt are the strongest in this field and if she can translate them to turf she can hit the board at a monster number.  She’s in good form and this is not a particularly strong field.  The Conductor will key her underneath in the exotics.

Del Mar

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. F.OC 40000n1x

#2 Amuse (2/1) – Her maiden breaker last start trounces this field and her recent works suggest she’s progressing.  She’s a synch.

Race 8: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.OC 40000n1x

#2 Amandine (6/1) – She has solid running lines in Europe and this group is not too tough.  She gets Lasix for the 1st time today and the Conductor loves that top jockey Drayden Van Dyke takes the mount.  He almost never rides for trainer Jeff Mullins, so the Conductor’s eyes perked up when he read the pp’s.
