Churchill Downs: Thanksgiving Late Pick 4 Key Horses

Four riders on horseback at Churchill Downs with the grandstand in the background.

Give the Conductor all the action at Churchill Downs today with a hot pot of gravy and a barrel of stew. Let’s Ride.

Race 8: 7 Furlongs. F.OC 62500n2x

#5 Casual (9/2) – She’s been off since the summer after going off form. She returns today in not too tough a spot and has the most talent and upside in the field. The Conductor will take a swing at anything near that price. Go watch her maiden race again.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. OC 80000n3x

*Double Gravy Whack of the Day #1 Strike Power (12/1) – What a great betting race this is. This horse is making his first start in the Asmussen barn off a long layoff. He’s won off long breaks before and his A effort beats this field. The Conductor must include him at that price.

#3 Bango (10/1) – He beat a strong field two back and had no chance behind Nashville last time. 3rd off the layoff today and returning to Churchill Downs, where he runs his best, the Conductor loves him here.

Churchill Downs

Race 10: 1 1/8 Mile. F.G2 Falls City Stakes

#3 Bonny South (8/5) – She ran huge last time at Churchill Downs and would have won easy with a halfway decent ride. Her race in the Alabama two back beats this field easily.

Race 11: 6½ Furlongs. Alw 87000n1x

#3 Motagally (15/1) – This colt ran a good 3rd last time pressing a hot pace routing. Cutting back to a sprint today and adding blinkers, he’s dangerous at a big number.

#6 Pirate Rick (8/1) – He’s taking a big step up in class, but nobody in this field can hang with this colt early. He’ll be on the lead by himself, which you cannot ignore.

Happy Thanksgiving you filthy passengers. The Conductor has plenty to be thankful for in his life. He hopes you have a glorious day with friends and family. Time to stuff our gullets and our wallets at Churchill, Let’s Ride.

Race 2: 1 1/16 Mile. OC 80000b

#2 Ballard High (8/1) – This colt doesn’t often win, but always shows up. His figures fit in here and the Conductor will key him in the exacta.

Race 6: 5½ Furlongs. (Turf) Alw 105000nc

#6 Holiday Stone (12/1) – He won nicely last time cutting back to a turf sprint for the first time. He’s won two in a row and the Conductor sees him thriving at this distance.

Race 7: 7 Furlongs. Clm 30000n2L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #8 Peppered (15/1) – Dropping in class and cutting back to a sprint, the Conductor guarantees he runs in the trifecta.

Race 8: 1 Mile. Clm 50000n2L

#7 House Limit (5/1) – There are no limits in the Conductor’s house.

Race 9: 1 1/8 Mile. F.G2 Falls City H.

#6 Sally’s Curlin (3/1) – Winner of her last three, she’s on the improve and running massive late pace figures.

Race 10: 6½ Furlongs. Alw 97000n1x

#2 Tight Ten (15/1) – This colt showed talent as a 2-year-old at Churchill and hasn’t run a good race this year. He’s had some time off since his last start, is working consistently, and Asmussen keeps him protected vs allowance company. All are positive signs.

Race 11: 1 1/8 Mile. (Turf) F.G3 Cardinal Stakes

#11 Starship Jubilee (6/5) – She looks like a standout in here, but the Conductor will key #3 Tweety Show (50/1) and #12 Area (30/1) at monster numbers in the trifecta.

The Conductor’s Black Friday Sale: Free Money at Del Mar

You cant get Free Money at Macy’s.  The Conductor’s got the best deal in town, everything must go at Del Mar! Let’s Ride.

Del Mar

Race 1: 6½ Furlongs. F.MC 20000

#3 London Hotel (7/5) – Nothing interesting here, her last race vs tougher smokes this field.

Race 2: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) OC 62500n2x

#8 Eric the Trojan (4/1) – He has a thunderous late kick and will get a hot pace in front of him today.  He got a slow pace last time and this will be his 2nd start off the layoff. He’s his best sprinting on this 5 furlong turf course.

Race 3: 5½ Furlongs. F.S.MC 50000

#1 Heaven Squared (5/1) – There are no standouts in here, and she’ll be a good price in a small field.  Her dam has produced 3 winners from 3 starters and her sire wins at 17% with debut runners.

Race 4: 1 Mile. (Turf) MC 50000

*Black Friday Line Gullet Shot #4 Getaloadofthis (12/1) – His first try routing last start was his best, setting a hot pace and holding on for 2nd.  Hollendorfer is very good switching runners from dirt to turf and this gelding is working like hes ready to run.  The Conductor will key him at a big number in the exotics.

Del Mar

Race 5: 5½ Furlongs. F.Clm 16000

*Never a Doubt Black Friday Lock #7 Gemini Journey (7/2) – Drawn well to the outside, she will get a perfect stalking trip sitting just behind the leaders.  Her last race at Del Mar was the fastest in this field and she is an very consistent runner.

Race 6: 1½ Mile. (Turf) G2 Hollywood Turf Cup

#1 Beach View (6/1) – The Conductor thinks this race is wide open and will go with a lightly raced, improving horse.  He blew away the field in a G3 on dirt last time and has proven he can win on dirt as well as get the distance.  He will likely be above 6/1 as well.

Race 7: 6 ½ Furlongs. MC 30000

#2 She’s a Dime (2/1) –

Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Mdn 53k

#7 Kaydetre (8/1) – The Conductor thinks she was better than the morning line favorite #1 Sutro in her last start and we’ll get four times the price.  She should step forward in her 2nd try routing and her price should stay high with low profile connections.

The Conductor’s Thanksgiving Plays at Del Mar

Thanksgiving themed horse racing image featuring jockeys on horses with festive elements like cornucopia and nuts.

The Conductor is thankful that the ponies run every day across the globe…….and his family.  Let’s make it a Del Mar holiday to remember, Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 1 1/8 Mile. Clm 50000

#1 Very Very Stella (7/2) – Dropping in class today, her even running style makes the Conductor think she’ll be able to get the distance and her best is faster than this group.  She’s working well and can beat the heavy favorite #2 El Huerfano.

Race 2: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Mdn 53k

*Turkey Gullet Stuffing Shot of the Day #5 Magical (9/2) – Her debut over this turf course was above par for this level and her best.  She gets back to 5 furlongs at Del Mar again today and she’s working like a good thing.

Del Mar

Race 3: 1 Mile. MC 32000

#5 Anvil Rock (5/1) – There is not much to like in this weak group, but the Conductor likes him best and he should be a decent price.  He’s faced tougher in his last two starts and his debut sprinting at this level was very impressive.  He closed from 17 lengths out of it that day to finish only 3 lengths beind the leader.  He has upside.

Race 4: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) OC 62500n2x

*Never a Doubt Thanksgiving Feast Lock #2 Majestic Eagle (7/2) – He’s dropping out of Grade 2 company where he ran a solid 4th setting a hot pace and fighting down the lane.  There is no other pace in this race and he should be able to get a comfortable lone lead today.  This is a no doubt about it gate to wire winner.

Del Mar

Race 5: 1 Mile. Clm 16000

#6 Typhoon Harry (7/2) – This group is dismally slow on paper for this level and this race has no pace.  This gelding’s early pace figures give him a big advantage over this group and the Conductor has no idea where else to turn.

Race 6: 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) F.G3 Red Carpet H.

#3 Vexatious (3/1) – She’s the class of the field and her fastest race was over this Del Mar turf course at this distance.  She’s in good form and will be extremely tough to beat.

*Underneath Uppercut #1 Victress (20/1) – Her late pace figs on dirt are the strongest in this field and if she can translate them to turf she can hit the board at a monster number.  She’s in good form and this is not a particularly strong field.  The Conductor will key her underneath in the exotics.

Del Mar

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. F.OC 40000n1x

#2 Amuse (2/1) – Her maiden breaker last start trounces this field and her recent works suggest she’s progressing.  She’s a synch.

Race 8: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.OC 40000n1x

#2 Amandine (6/1) – She has solid running lines in Europe and this group is not too tough.  She gets Lasix for the 1st time today and the Conductor loves that top jockey Drayden Van Dyke takes the mount.  He almost never rides for trainer Jeff Mullins, so the Conductor’s eyes perked up when he read the pp’s.

Wednesday’s Winners at Aqueduct: The Conductor’s Plays

Vibrant mural depicting a horse and jockey at Aqueduct Racetrack in New York, showcasing racing culture and art.

On the Turf today at Aqueduct? What a treat, Thanksgiving came a day early for the Conductor.  We have late pick 5 and pick 6 carryovers to swing at.  Let’s make it a bountiful feast. Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 7 Furlongs. MC 40000

#5 Catch Me If U Can (4/1) – This race is devoid of any early pace and this boy should get a comfortable on the lead.  This field will not catch him today.

Race 2: 1 Mile. Clm 14000n3L

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 Fifty (8/1) – He got vanned off last start, but he’s coming back quickly to the track, so the Conductor is not concerned.  He’s dropping to his lowest career class level today and his best races smash this group.  His bullet works leading into today get the Conductor excited.

Aqueduct

Race 3: 6½ Furlongs. OC 62500n2x

#5 Pete’s Play Call (3/1) – He should get a perfect stalking trip drawn to the outside, sitting just off dueling leaders.  He’s cycling up in form, while the others are looking to find their best race.

Race 4: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Mdn 70k

*Never a Doubt Stone Cold Lock of the Day #8 Malthael (3/1) – His last race was good enough to break almost any maiden.  He pressed a hot pace and finished 2nd to a next out winner in Empire of War.  He’s the one to beat.

Aqueduct

#11 Tintoretto (12/1) – He ran a decent fifth behind #8 Malthael in his debut last start and that race came up very fast on the Conductor’s numbers.  He can step forward with experience and also adds Lasix today.  The Conductor will key him underneath in the trifecta.

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) F.OC 62500n2x

#7 Eloweasel (4/1) – She’s dropping out of open company and has the fastest speed figures sprinting on firm turf in this field.  She’ll appreciate getting back to firmer ground today.

Race 6: 1 Mile. S.MC 25000

#8 Local Edition (5/1) – The heavy favorite #7 Okeamo (6/5) will be tough to beat, but Local Edition is the only other possible win candidate.  He’s run some decent efforts at Aqueduct vs tougher on turf and gets his first try on dirt today.  He adds blinkers for the first time as well.

Race 7: 1 3/16 Mile. (Outer Turf) Mdn 70k

#3 Rhode Island (7/2) – He’s steadily progressing and exiting the fastest maiden race in this field on the Conductor’s numbers. In his 2nd start off a layoff he’ll beat this group.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. S.OC 40000n2x

*Gobbler Grabber of the Day #8 Cerretalto (8/1) – The Conductor will cry with joy if he gets anything close to 8/1 on this gelding.  His speed figures make him very competitive in here and his last race was a solid 3rd vs much tougher open company at Saratoga.  He should get a perfect trip sitting behind a speed duel and he’s 2/2 at Aqueduct.

Aqueduct

Race 9: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) S.Clm 25000

#1 Mobridge (3/1) – Stepping up in class last start, he had no chance trying to close into a tepid pace.  He drops back to a class level which he has dominated and should get a solid setup today.
