Saturday, November 7 – Race 5: 5½ Furlongs. (Turf) G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint

*#1 Big Runnuer (12/1) – Another race we don’t have to go far for the Conductor to get his key. There is not a lot a lot of early speed in here and he should be able to clear the field from the rail. He may be able to steal this open race gate to wire.

#2 Just Might (30/1) – He is the only horse that could make it tough on Big Runnuer early. He has early gas, but always seems to fade late.

#3 Imprimis (4/1) – He’s a good gelding, but he got a nice trip last time and doesn’t seem to get the job done against the toughest competition. At a short price, the Conductor is against him.

#4 Front Run the Fed (12/1) – This colt had a tougher trip than Imprimis and was right there. He’ll be a better price, but still isn’t one of the Conductor’s favorites.

#5 Wet Your Whistle (15/1) – He got an easy trip last time and has back class. Again, the Conductor doesn’t like his chances.

#6 Glass Slippers (12/1) – The Conductor doesn’t like the Euros in these sprints typically. He’s torn on this filly as this isn’t the strongest American contingent. She’s a fighter but he thinks this task is likely too much to ask.

#7 Leinster (4/1) – He loves Keeneland and won nicely last time with a perfect trip. He can absolutely win this race but he’s no standout. At a short price the Conductor doesn’t love him.

#8 Oleksandra (12/1) – If you want to watch a mare mow, watch her last race. She has a thunderous late kick. However, the Conductor thinks she’ll be more in the 5/1 race and will be up against it without a hot pace in front of her. The Ductor is leaning against.

#9 Into Mystic (12/1) – She ran too well to lose over this turf course last time without a perfect trip. The Conductor will absolutely use her again especially if she’s around that price.

*#10 Bombard (15/1)

This is the Conductor’s other favorite price in the race. He ran huge setting a hot pace last time and was just nailed at the wire. The shorter distance will help his chances and he has the early speed to put him in a good position early.

#11 Wildman Jack (15/1) – Since the Conductor likes Big Runnuer, he must like this boy. He ran a good 2nd last time with a troubled trip and ran a big race vs Grade 1 company on dirt two back. The concern is that he gets hung wide.

#12 Got Stormy (7/2) – This mare is all class, but the Conductor is against her as the likely favorite. She’ll have to drop to the back of the pack from this post and will have a lot to do to get to the wire first.

#13 Texas Wedge (20/1) – Peter Miller has dominated this race, which scares the Conductor. However, she’s a toss from this post.

#14 Extravagant Kid (15/1) – The Conductor doesn’t see how he can work out a trip from here either.

Saturday, November 7 – Race 4: 7 Furlongs. F.G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint

*#1 Speech (6/1) – She’s one of the Conductor’s key horses for Saturday. She had a tough trip behind Swiss Skydiver last time. Cutting back to 7 furlongs, her race at Keeneland was her best and she ran right with Gamine at Oaklawn. She looks to get a good trip behind dueling leaders.

#2 Gamine (7/5) – Cutting back to a sprint, this girl is a freak. She’s going to have to duel Serengeti Empress, but the Conductor sees her winning that battle. He’ll toss the Empress and press Gamine.

#3 Come Dancing (8/1) – This old mare is a solid filly and will get a good trip, but the Conductor doesn’t think she’s good enough.

#4 Inthemidstofbiz (30/1) – She’s going to get cooked up close to a hot pace.

#5 Sconsin (20/1) – This filly got a great setup last time and will get another good one here. However, the Conductor doesn’t see her better than 3rd.

#6 Venetian Harbor (8/1) – She needs the lead and isn’t going to get it. She’s a complete toss for the Conductor.

#7 Serengeti Empress (3/1) – She’s a great mare and all guts. If she somehow wins the duel with Gamine and holds on the Conductor will tip his cap.

#8 Sally’s Curlin (20/1) – She’ll be running for 3rd and may be able to get it only if it’s a complete meltdown.

#9 Bell’s the One (6/1) – This is a classy filly and running her best this year. She nailed Serengeti Empress last time with a great trip and looks to get a similar trip again. The Conductor prefers Speech, but she wouldn’t surprise him.

Friday November 6 – Race 10: 1 1/16 Mile. G1 TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile

#1 Camp Hope (30/1) – This race looks to have a very hot pace and this colt circled the field in his debut, running a strong late pace figure. This is a lot to ask in only his 2nd start, but the Conductor can see him picking up 3rd at a huge number.

#2 King Fury (15/1) – He flattered the Breeders’ Futurity by coming back to win nicely last time. The Conductor will make him prove it to him against Grade 1 competition.

#3 Reinvestment Risk (9/2) – He’s chased the heavy favorite in here and will be trying two turns for the first time. The Conductor doesn’t think the stretch out will benefit him.

#4 Likeable (15/1) – He cruised to victory last time, but he will be getting a much tougher test today. This is to much for him in the Conductor’s opinion.

#5 Essential Quality (4/1) – Proven around two turns and the Keeneland track, the Conductor can’t knock this colt. He has a major chance.

*#6 Keepmeinmind (30/1)

The Conductor is going to key this colt at a bomb in this race. He’s adding blinkers today and was the only one to close into a slow pace in the Breeders’ Futurity. With another step forward the Conductor thinks he’ll hit the board.

#7 Jackie’s Warrior (7/5) – By far the fastest on paper, she’s the deserving heavy favorite. She’ll be up close to a contested pace in here and will have to try two turns for the first time. The Conductor doesn’t see her as a lock, but doesn’t have the stones to chuck her. There is a chance she obliterates this field.

#8 Classier (12/1) – Baffert can always ruin the fun, but the Conductor is against this colt. He’ll add to the wicked pace and he didn’t get hammered at the windows in his debut.

*#9 Sittin On Go (12/1) – The other price the Conductor really likes, he made a huge wide move in the Iroquois stakes and sustained his run down the lane. He’s working well and can make a big jump forward.

#10 Dreamer’s Disease (30/1) – He got away setting a tepid pace vs weaker last time. The Conductor will pass.

#11 Next (15/1) – The Conductor sees him chasing a hot pace and hung wide. Pass.

#12 Hot Rod Charlie (30/1) – No thanks.

#13 Rombauer (15/1) – The Conductor didn’t think the American Pharoah Stakes was a particularly strong race. He may be able to clunk up for third at best.

#14 Calibrate (20/1) – His effort was too bad to be believed last time in the Breeders’ Futurity. The Conductor can’t use him from this post.

Friday November 6 – Race 9: 1 Mile. F.G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf

#1 Oodnadatta (20/1) – These baby turf races are brutally tough. This race has been predominately dominated by the US runners recently with Chad Brown. The Conductor doesn’t see any standouts in here and this filly is lightly raced and improving. He doesn’t think she’s good enough though.

#2 Miss Amulet (12/1) – This is the Conductor’s favorite European. He likes her races visually and she has a strong foundation.

#3 Alda (12/1) – She has strong late pace figures and looks to get a favorable trip with a hot pace in front. She’s dangerous.

*#4 Plum Ali (4/1)

3 wins at 3 different tracks and one of few in here proven around two turns. She’s the one to beat.

#5 Aunt Pearl (3/1) – She is a very talented filly, but the Conductor is against her at a short price here. They are going to fly up front and she’s not going to be able to dictate the race on her terms.

#6 Nazuna (30/1) – This filly doesn’t look to be good enough.

#7 Tetragonal (20/1) – The California turf horses are very weak.

#8 Mother Earth (20/1) – The Conductor isn’t a fan of her recent form.

#9 Madone (10/1) – Again, the California turf horses won’t get played by the Conductor.

#10 Chapanelle (4/1) – She’ll be stretching out for the first time and will be up close to a hot pace. She’s a talented runner that will be over bet and the Conductor will be against her.

#11 Royal Approval (10/1) – Of the two Ward horses, the Conductor prefers this girl at a better price. She looks like she’ll be better with distance and she can also sit off the pace.

#12 Spanish Loveaffair (15/1) – She’s a little bit interesting but was clearly no match for Aunt Pearl last time and gets a tough draw.

#13 Union Gables (20/1) – The Conductor can’t see her working out a trip from here, pass.

#14 Editor At Large (12/1) – She’ll drop to the back of the pack early, so the post isn’t as big of an issue. She’ll get a good setup, is also proven at two turns, and Chad owns this race. She is very intriguing.

*#1 Simply Ravishing (5/2) – She’s been nothing less than ravishing in her first three starts. She had a favorable trip in the Alcibiades, but looked like she could go around again. The Conductor will put her on top.

#2 Vequist (8/1) – This girl ran well behind #3 Dayoutoftheoffice (5/2), but she didn’t gallop out great. The Conductor sees her as more of a sprinter.

#3 Dayoutoftheoffice (5/2) – The Conductor can’t leave her off his tickets. She got a nice trip last time but ran like a serious racehorse. He thinks the added distance will suit her as well.

#4 Thoughtfully (20/1) – She didn’t have any excuse last time. She’s a sprinter.

*#5 Girl Daddy (6/1) – The Conductor is going to use this filly in the exacta. She ran huge at Churchill without the greatest trip and showed a great finish down the lane. She should get a good trip in here with pace to run at.

#6 Crzy Beautiful (20/1) – She may be beautiful, but has been soundly beaten by Girl Daddy and Simply Ravishing. The Conductor can see a scenario where she picks up the pieces for 3rd at a big number though.

#7 Princess Noor (9/5) – Visually impressive, slow on paper. She’s been the talk of the Friday card and it seems to be that most cappers are planning on fading her. The Conductor is leaning towards that camp. Coming from the Baffert barn, she’ll be over bet regardless and she needs to run much faster to beat these fillies. There are real runners in here.

Friday, November 6 – Race 7: 1 Mile. (Turf) G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf

*#1 Sealiway (8/1) – Unlike the sprint, the Conductor thinks the Euros are strong in here. This colt was visually impressive in his last race and has yet to run a poor effort. He’s a strong contender.

#2 New Mandate (12/1) – Another one the Conductor can’t knock, he’s steadily progressing and fits with this group.

#3 Abarta (12/1) – He ran well with some trouble last time, but he was aided by the race flow. The Conductor is a little against him and thinks he’ll be over bet.

*#4 Public Sector (8/1)

This is the American runner the Conductor likes most. His debut was very professional, and he had no chance last time to chasing a tepid pace. Chad hasn’t been winning everything this year, so the Conductor thinks we’ll get a fair price.

#5 Cadillac (5/1) – Another Euro who you can’t leave off your tickets based on his class.

#6 Mutasaabeq (5/1) – Circling the field from last to first always looks great, but like Albarta he was aided by a hot pace. He’s a likely overlay although he’s a talented runner.

#7 Fire At Will (12/1) – He won’t be able to get away with setting such a slow pace against this group as he did in the Pilgrim Stakes. The Conductor is against him.

#8 Outadore (8/1) – Stretching out from a nice win last time at Kentucky Downs, he caught the Conductor’s eye. The Kentucky Downs shippers ran during the past Keeneland meet.

#9 Battleground (6/1) – This race is extremely difficult, another dangerous Euro with strong connections.

#10 Ebeko (20/1) – He’s been facing much weaker in California. No thanks.

#11 Gretzky the Great (8/1) – He’s done nothing wrong so far in his career and has enough early speed to put himself in a good position early despite the post. He’s another major player.

#12 Go Athletico (10/1) – The Conductor likes this boy’s form and likes Sealiway, but this is a tough post. The Conductor is torn.

#13 Deviwala (30/1) – He’s not good enough from the parking lot.

#14 The Lir Jet (20/1) – Strong class, but the Conductor can’t use him from the 14-hole.

The posts have been the drawn, stew poured, and its time to go to work. The Conductor will finalize his picks the day of, but this is how he sees it initially. We start with the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.

Friday, November 6 – Race 6: 5½ Furlongs. (Turf) G2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint

#1 Mighty Gurkha (IRE) (20/1) – This colt hasn’t won on turf and the Conductor’s against the Europeans in this race in general. With a tough draw you can have him.

#2 Windy City Red (30/1) – He ran decent last time and was stuck behind horses in the stretch. He finished well, but the Conductor thinks this group is too tough.

#3 Lipizzaner (20/1) – The Conductor likes his European Form better than the #1, but doesn’t think he’s good enough.

#4 County Final (15/1) – This colt has strong early pace figures and the shorter distance will help, but the Conductor isn’t sure the Futurity was a particularly strong race. He’s leaning toward tossing all those runners here.

#5 Cowan (8/1) – He ran a very good race last time over this turf course, he was gaining on the runaway leader. With two bullet works coming in, he’s a contender.

#6 Ubettabelieveit (IRE) (20/1) – The Conductor already told you he doesn’t believe in the Euro’s sprinting.

#7 Momos (15/1)

– Of the runners exiting the Futurity the Conductor likes him the best. He was game on the inside and didn’t give up 3rd while against the flow. He’ll be a big price and will be better at 5 ½ furlongs.

#8 Amanzi Yimpilo (IRE) (15/1) – She was game to hold on after pressing a quick pace last time, but the Conductor doesn’t think the Speakeasy stakes was particularly strong. This is a big step up in class.

#9 After Five (6/1) – He was rolling late last time, but he was aided with by the race flow. The shorter distance today won’t help and the Conductor will be against him if he’s that price. He’ll be rolling late but won’t get their time.

#10 Bodenheimer (8/1) – His early speed makes him tough to ignore. The Conductor doesn’t think he’ll get as easy of a lead as he did last time, but he is dangerous.

#11 Into the Sunrise (15/1) – This colt has the Conductor’s brain in a pretzel at the moment. He doesn’t usually like the cutback on turf as much as he does the dirt. However, he’s run well against classy competition and has the early pace figures to put himself in a good spot. The more the Conductor looks at it, the more he thinks he’s sneaky.

*#12 Dirty Dangle (20/1)

This is the Conductor’s favorite price. She was so professional in her win up at Woodbine last time. Showed early speed, took back behind the frontrunners, waited patiently and when she found room skipped by them like they were standing still.

#13 Second of July (8/1) – He’s 2/2 and has won at big odds in his first two career starts. He got a favorable trip last time and with a tough post the Conductor is leaning toward fading him.

#14 Golden Pal (8/5) – This colt is a deserving favorite and his last race at Saratoga was ultra-impressive. He’s got early gas which makes the post more tolerable, but he still may be hung wide with speed to his inside. He’ll have to earn it at a small price.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint

*#1 Catalina Cruiser (4/1) – He’s being forgotten about for a horse that has only lost one career start. He also looks to get a good trip sitting behind a hot pace. He’ll be on the Conductor’s tickets and thinks his price will float up a bit higher.

#2 Hog Creek Hustle (20/1) – This is a little too short and too tough for him to be a legit contender. He could come running for 3rd at best.

#3 Firenze Fire (12/1) – This colt has run some very fast races, but they’ve all come at Belmont Park. The price will be the deciding factor for the Conductor, but he’s leaning against him.

#4 Mitole (9/5) – The Conductor can’t knock him, but he can’t separate him from the other logical contenders.  He won’t be pressing him like others may.

#5 Engage (15/1) – He’s not in this class, 3rd at best.

*#6 Shancelot (4/1) – This colt has shown brilliance in his young career. The Conductor cannot ignore his potential and must use him. He’ll be the Conductor’s win bet if he goes off above 3/1. Navarro will make sure he has his vitamins.

#7 Whitmore (15/1) – This gelding’s best days are behind him, he’s a contender for 3rd.

#8 Landeskog (12/1) – Scratched

#9 Imperial Hint (4/1) – He is a serious sprinter and is drawn well to the outside. He’s been nails in his last two starts and he’ll be on all the Conductor’s tickets.

#10 Matera Sky (30/1) – He should have stayed in Japan.

Race 6: 1 Mile. G1 Big Ass Fans Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile

#1 Giant Expectations (12/1) – The Conductor doesn’t have many expectations for this boy. He doesn’t like to win but he can run 3rd.

#2 Improbable (3/1) – This his preferred distance and he’s a win contender. However, he will be over bet like he always is, so the Conductor is leaning against him.

#3 Spun to Run (6/1) – He ran a monster figure last time exiting the Pennsylvania Derby, which is one of the reasons the Conductor likes the others who participated. The Conductor doesn’t think he’s classy enough to win, but he’s dangerous.

*#4 Mr. Money (6/1)

If the Conductor gets anything close to this price, he’ll bet him. He’s exiting the PA Derby and the Conductor thinks he’s sitting on a monster race.

#5 Omaha Beach (8/5) – His return to the races was very impressive, but that may have been his best bullet. The Conductor isn’t as bullish on him as the public, but he is absolutely a contender.

#6 Ambassadorial (30/1) – Toss.

#7 Coal Front (6/1) – This ridgling won’t get the early lead which will really hurt his chances.

*#8 Blue Chipper (20/1) – He’s bomb that the Conductor likes. Shipping in from Korea, the Conductor likes the tape on this gelding and he’s working well on all accounts. He’s a runner that can knock the passengers out of the pools.

#9 Diamond Oops (15/1) – His race two back at Saratoga splitting Imperial Hint and Mitole shouldn’t be ignored. Winning is a tough ask, but the Conductor will use him in the exacta and tri at a big number.

#10 Snapper Sinclair (30/1) – No thanks.

Race 5: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint

#1 Totally Boss (5/1) – This gelding is in great form, but the Conductor can’t see him getting any kind of trip from the rail. He got a brutal draw for a closer in a turf sprint.

*#2 Pure Sensation (5/1) – Any runner that can be on the lead turning for home must be used in here and he’s the most likely to do so. The Conductor gives him the best chance to win.

#3 Imprimis (8/1) – He’s disappointed since returning from Ascot in June. The Conductor is leaning against him.

#4 Shekky Shebaz (12/1) – He’s become a different animal in the Servis barn (shocker). The Conductor will absolutely be using him.

#5 Stubbins (12/1) – He’s steadily progressing and hasn’t run a bad race sprinting on the turf, but he’ll be too far back early for the Conductor’s liking.

#6 Stormy Liberal (8/1) – This old man’s best days are behind him. He’s not close to the same horse who won this race last year.

#7 Leinster (8/1)

The Conductor doesn’t like the runners from Woodford race he’s exiting.

#8 Legends of War (20/1) – He’s too slow.

#9 Final Frontier (6/1) – This colt’s last race came back very fast on paper. The Conductor must include him.

#10 Eddie Haskel (9/2) – The Conductor is torn on this gelding. Can he win? Yes. But the Conductor is leaning toss at the price he’ll likely be and his last two efforts.

*11 Om (15/1) – He’ll be the Conductor’s key in the exacta and trifecta. He’s a warrior and the Conductor liked his last victory over a solid runner in #1 Totally Boss. He gets back to his home track here, is working well and will be flying late.
