Great day at Turf Paradise yesterday, highlighted by a 11/1 winner to start the day and a 24/1 shot running 2^nd in the finale. The Conductor will keep the train at Turf Paradise for one more day, then its off the Bluegrass state. 1 more sleep until Keeneland. Let’s Ride.

#5 Ryderroo (15/1) – Her last race was disappointing, but her race two back makes her competitive at a monster number.

#1 Luna’s Empire (7/2) – Switching back to her preferred turf surface, she ran a good 2^nd last time she dropped to this level.

Race 3: 4½ Furlongs. MC 5000

#4 Gotta Candy Ride (10/1) – Dropping in class, he broke slow in his debut and still ran ok. He’s dropping in class and this jockey/trainer combo has been hot recently.

Race 4: 6 Furlongs. Clm 12500

#5 Doc Curlin (9/5) – His best wins handily.

Race 5: 6½ Furlongs. F.MC 5000

*Never a Doubt Humpday Lock #7 Here’slookinatya (7/2) – She ran a good 3^rd vs tougher last start and has an early pace edge over this field.

#3 Chocolate Goddess (8/1) – This filly took a step forward last start and has past performances that can beat this field. The Conductor sees her improving again.

#2 Kasey’s Callin (9/2) – The Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion in this race.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Bobby Baby (6/1) – He was pinched back and still ran a good 4^th last start and won impressively in his two races prior. 1^st off the claim for top connections, over 4/1 would be glorious.

#10 Diamond Mint (10/1) – He’s steadily progressing while many of the others are looking to bounce back. He ran a solid 3^rd going 7 ½ Furlongs last start.

Race 2: 6 Furlongs. F.OC 62500n2x

*Never a Doubt Return to the Cube Mood Changer Lock of the Day #5 Ms Meshak (2/1) – She ran an improved last race and her best beats this group. She’s the one to beat.

Race 3: Mile. Clm 6250n2L

#2 Aghost to the Post (3/1) – His race two starts back buries this field and this isn’t as tough a group as last time.

Race 4: 5 Furlongs. F.Clm 16000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Wantagh Queen (8/1) – She’s been facing much tougher at Gulfstream and ran a much-improved last race. Another step forward will make her very dangerous.

Race 5: 7 Furlongs. MC 25000

#3 Sensational Zip (6/1) – This longtime maiden drops to the claiming ranks for the first time. He’s run winning races for this level and will have every chance if the #6 Zippy Willy (1/2) doesn’t come back ready.

Race 6: 1 Mile. S.OC 12500n2x

#4 Manolete (8/1) – The longest shot on the board, she was pulled up last start, but is working well and returns quickly. Her win two starts back makes her competitive against this group.

#5 Cap dee Creus (4/1) – He’s run two solid races in his young career and is drawn well. Natural progression will give him a big chance.

Race 8: 6 ½ Furlongs. OC 50000

#1 Hard Belle (9/2) – He ran an improved race at Gulfstream last time and looks to be rounding into his top form.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) Alw 50000n1x

#2 County Court (4/1) – He’s been off for a few months, but is working well for top connections. He has strong numbers and is drawn well to the inside.

Race 10: 1 Mile (Turf). MC 50000

#1 Second Guess (10/1) – It’s easy to 2^nd guess yourself in this wide-open race. The Conductor likes his work tab for top connections.

Humpday Horses: The Conductor’s Plays at Gulfstream Park

Yikes, the Conductor doesn’t play Remington often and it showed. Yesterday was gross, disgusting, and unacceptable, with only one short-priced winner. However, the good news is the train is headed back to Gulfstream Park, where the Conductor knows the ponies like the back of his hand. Let’s have a Wednesday like the last, Let’s Ride.

12:35pm ET Race 1: 1 Mile. Clm 30000b

#6 Empire Power (3/1) – Dueling and just missing going 7 furlongs last start, he’s working well and in the best form in the group. He should get a nice trip today, on or near a slow pace.

Race 2: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Clm 16000n2L

*Double Barrel Buckshots #3 Mija Bella (15/1) – The Conductor is looking for prices in this open race. Her lone grass race was poor, but it was against much tougher and she’s run solid figures on dirt. She is lightly raced and has major upside.

#11 Glorious Freedom (12/1) – Her win last start was the fastest in this field by the Conductor’s numbers. She has top connections and will have every chance if she can work out a trip from the outside post.

Race 3: 1 Mile. F.Clm 6250n2L

#5 Tapete Claire (3/1) – She dueled and finished a strong 3^rd last time and the Conductor likes that she’s stretching out in distance for top connections.

Race 4: 1 Mile. MC 12500

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 Curlin’s Knight (8/1) – He ran an above par figure vs tougher at Woodbine last start. He adds blinkers today and is now in the barn of trainer David Kassen, who has a +$0.96 ROI this year 1^st off the claim.

Race 5: 7½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.MC 50000

#10 Getmotherarose (4/1) – Facing tougher up in New York, she’s had two solid sprint races and now stretches out. Her early pace figures stand out against this group.

Race 6: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 16000n3L

#5 Not Nice (6/1) – Steadily improving, she’s won two in a row and clearly likes sprinting on the turf best. Good form is always dangerous in these low-level claimers. She’ll be nice to the Conductor.

Race 7: 7½ Furlongs. (Turf) Mdn 60k

#8 Onthewaytonevrland (8/1) – He ran a big number in his debut baby race at Keeneland in the spring. Posting bullet works for top connections, he’s bred for the turf and to be a good one.

Race 8: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) S.OC 16000n1x

#4 Black Pepper (9/2) – His early pace figures on dirt give him an advantage in here and his dam has produced a turf winner. His early gas is dangerous on any surface.

Race 9: 6 Furlongs. F.OClm 50000

*Never a doubt T-Bond Lock of the Day #2 A Bit of Both (1/1) – She murdered the field in her Gulfstream debut and is now in the Servais barn. She won’t lose, but will be a very short price.

*Update She Scratched – #3 Jeltrin (10/1) – Another blowout winner last start, she ran a competative number for this group and that last race came back live.

#11 Treasure Bay (8/1) – Running above par efforts at Gulfstream on the turf, he ran 2^nd at this level last time and should step forward in his 2^nd start off the layoff. The Conductor likes his work tab as well.

Wednesday’s Winners: The Conductor’s Plays at Aqueduct

Small fields at Aqueduct due to races coming off the turf today, but the Conductor wont complain. He’ll play the cards he’s dealt and pick eight winners in a row. Let’s build our bankroll midweek, Let’s Ride.

12:50pm ET Race 1: 1 1/8 Mile. Clm 25000n2L

#3 Malibu Strings (8/5) – Dropping in class and switching back to dirt, the Conductor likes him better than the odds on favorite #2 Purchasing Power. Malibu Strings is lightly raced, improving, and should get a perfect trip on or near a slow pace.

1:18pm ET Race 2: 6 Furlongs. Clm 10000

#2 Toohottoevenspeak (6/1) – The heavy favorite #1A Big Guy Ian (3/5) looks tough to beat in here, but the Conductor can pull a little value out of this race. Eligible to improve in his 2^nd start off the layoff, this gelding is cutting back to a sprint and drops in class. He loves to run 2^nd and 3^rd and that’s what the Conductor expects him to do. He’ll hammer a stone cold 1/2 exacta and sprinkle a little on the reverse.

1:47pm ET Race 3: 1 Mile. (OFF Turf) Mdn 70k

#13 Greyes Creek (4/1) – This 850k Chad brown runner ran a par effort for this level in a race taken off the turf last time. He gets the same circumstances again today and gets added distance, which his breeding suggests he’ll appreciate.

#16 Lone Pioneer (8/1) – He’s steping up in class, but he is also the only MTO runner in this field. His debut effort was solid, and he wants to run on dirt, while the others want grass.

#12 Our Girl Abby (5/2) – The Conductor can’t explain why she was so bad last race, but she’s shown a tendency to be an “in and outer.” Good race, bad race, good race, bad race. Her good race beats this field.

2:47 Race 5: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 32000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #6 Clairvoyant Lady (9/2) – 1^st off the claim for top trainer Jerimiah Englehart and 2^nd off a layoff, she looks primed to run a top effort. She has past performances that make her competitive against this group and is a very consistent runner. She also hasn’t missed the board in all 4 career starts at Aqueduct.

3:17pm ET Race 6: 1 1/8 Mile. Alw 75000n1x

*Never a Doubt Hump Day Lock #5 Mr. Buff (3/1) – He’s likely to be the third betting choice in this field and he’s quite simply the fastest horse on the Conductor’s numbers. He was beaten at Aqueduct two starts back by rivals in here, but he brushed the gate at the start of that race. His performance last time in the Empire Classic smokes this field.

3:47pm ET Race 7: 6 Furlongs. (OFF Turf) S.OC 40000n2x

*Throat Slit #1 Shiraz (8/1) – His win two starts back on dirt can beat this group and he’ll be a big price. He’s only raced 3 times on a fast dirt track in his career and it could be what he wants best.

#10 Royal Asset (6/1) – 2^nd off the claim for Rudy Rod he will likely take a step forward and his last race on grass was very solid. The Conductor is confused why they even want to run him on turf. He’s 4/10 on dirt and 1/10 on turf lifetime.

4:17pm ET Race 8: 7 Furlongs. F.S.MC 25000

#6 Lovely Escort (5/1) – Facing tougher open company at Aqueduct, she showed speed in her first two starts and then fallen apart late. She gets Lasix today, suggesting she bled last time and the lead will make any horse dangerous in here. This group is week.

#1 Stay Good (5/2) – Well bet at Saratoga, she had a trip from hell in her debut. If she has any ability like Rudy Rod thinks she does, she’ll beat this field for fun.

Weekend Bankroll Builders: Hump Day Plays at Aqueduct

The forecast did not call for rain at Aqueduct, so the Conductor packed up the train and headed to NY for some hump day racing. Of course, the rain came, and the races got taken off the turf. Now we have scratches galore and the Conductor’s day is ruined. Whatever, Conductor will play anyway and make the Big A pay for his coal bill. Nobody makes the Conductor travel for small fields, nobody. Let’s ride.

Race 1: 1 Mile. F.Mdn 70k

#4 Captain Livi (4/1) – She lunged at the start in her debut and ran evenly for third, suggesting she’ll like the added distance. The winner of that race was the odds-on favorite, Chamber, and the Conductor thinks she’s much better than today’s heavy favorite, #3 Face It.

Race 2: 1 1/8 Mile. F. Alw 75000n1x

#3 Tigalalu (4/5) – This is an odds-on favorite the Conductor won’t try to beat. Her last race beat this field by 50 lengths. This is a free square for the Conductor.

*Never a Doubt Hump Day Lock #5 Reed Kan (2/1) – You won’t see a race with a clearer lone speed than this. This boy has a monstrous pace advantage and will bury this field gate to wire.

#14 Missle Bomb (7/5) – Another heavy favorite that’s going to win with ease with the race taken off the grass. Screw this.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Montana Skeptic (10/1) – Like many Maiden Claimers, this race is full of proven losers. Well bet in her debut this filly didn’t get a chance to run, being 7-wide around the track. She adds Lasix today, suggesting she may have bled, and she has potential unlike the others.

Race 6: 1 Mile. (Off Turf) F.Clm 35000n3L

#1A My Girl Annie (20/1) – She’ll be around 8/5 with the scratches, but she’s run her best on an off track and has beaten the heavy favorite. Dueling, setting a hot pace last time going longer will help her chances today as well.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. Clm 32000

*Best Bet of the Day #5 Blue Belt (9/2) He has the highest last out speed figure at Aqueduct on the Conductor’s numbers and is drawn well to the outside. He shortens up a furlong and should sit a perfect trip up close to a pace that shouldn’t be too quick.

Race 8: 6 Furlongs. (Off Turf) F.S.Alw 66000n1x

#15 Salty Smile (5/2) – Another Main track only horse, she will benefit from the sloppy track and hot pace to run at. This race will be a blitz to the front and she can wait comfortably and swoop by them all.

Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) S.MC 40000

*Wind Pipe Whack #10 Shuffling Madness (20/1) – By far her best race of her career was her debut on a sloppy track and maybe that’s what she’s wanted to do all along. A repeat of that race makes her competitive in here and the Conductor will take a swing at Aqueduct’s wind pipe in the last.
