Saratoga: Key Horses for Thursday, August 11

Clear skies through the weekend in Saratoga and the train is rolling into the parking lot as we speak. Let the celebration of winners start today. Skip.

Race 3: 1 Mile. F.Clm 25000n2L

#1 Belarus (5/1) – This filly is stretching out to a mile for the first time and this race is wide open. The Ductor really liked her maiden win last time. She was bumped both sides break, made an impressive move on the turn and wore down the loose leader. She can improve off that effort and beat this field.

Race 4: 1 Mile. (Inner Turf) S.OC 45000n2x

#1 Ghost Giant (5/1) – Dropping to the state bred level last time, this gelding would have likely won if he was able to find room in the stretch. He steadied badly along the rail, then re-rallied and galloped out very well. He looks to get a favorable trip today with a quick pace to run at.

Race 5: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.MC 40000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 The Sleepychipmunk (6/1) – This filly tried routing on the grass for the first time last time and ran a career best race. She ran a very good 3rd with a bad trip chasing a quick pace 3-wide uncovered the entire way. She can step forward off that effort and find herself in the winners circle at a nice price.

Race 7: 1 1/8 Mile. Clm 40000

#6 Claytnthelionheart (6/1) – This gelding woke up last time at Saratoga dropping in class chasing a quick pace. He looks to be cycling back to his best races and should get a favorable trip in this race with no other early pace. Trainer Phillip Bauer is 36% with a +$0.43 ROI this year with runners 3rd off the layoff
