#1 Conquest Flatterne (4/1) – 2^nd off the layoff this girl has run serious early pace figures. This field will struggle keeping pace.

#5 Cedars of Lebanon (8/1) – She’s pressed hot paces going longer. These type horses love cutting back down the hill.

#1 Risky Proposition (8/1) – The Conductor will sprint to the windows if he gets close to 8/1 on this gelding.

#1 Kichiro (4/1) – He’s dropping in class and the race he’s exiting has come back very live.

#9 Country House (20/1) – Engulfing the field, closing into a slow pace to break his maiden last start, he’s working well and Saez ships in to ride for a reason.

#4 Gold Arrow (8/5) – Well bet in her debut she had a tough trip and ran a good closing 2nd into a slow pace. She’ll win today.

Race 2: 61⁄2 Furlongs. MC 20000

#4 Hard to Come Home (5/2) – Switching back to dirt, he showed good early speed vs tougher two starts back. He should get an easy lead here.

Race 3: 1 Mile. (Turf) Off Turf F.Alw 50000s

#5 Princess Leia (12/1) – She’s 2/2 on an off track and is exiting a solid dirt victory. She wants this race off the turf.

Race 4: 5 1 ⁄2 Furlongs. F.MC 16000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #3 Purdue (8/1) – This filly should step forward in her 2nd start off the layoff. The Conductor has beeen chasing her and the price will be right today.

#7 American Falls (8/1) – He’s steadily progressing at Santa Anita and is bred to relish the slop.

Wind Pipe Whack Wednesday: Turf Paradise Plays

#7 Spittin Havoc (3/1) – Drawn well to the outside he looks to get a good trip in a wide-open race.

#6 Shoeless Jackson (8/1) – She showed a big progression last start and can surprise this group up close to or on a slow pace.

#5 Devil’s Wildcat (6/1) – This filly ran a much improved 4^th last start after getting loose behind the gate pre-race. She should take another step forward in her 3^rd start off the layoff.

*Never a Doubt Humpday Lock #6 War Link (2/1) – 2^nd off the claim for top trainer Jeffrey Metz, he’ll blow them away cutting back to a sprint.

Race 7: 6 Furlongs. Clm 3500n2L

#6 Big Pebble (5/2) – He hasn’t raced in over a year, but he’s working well for top connections. If he’s any semblance of himself, he wins.

Race 8: 1 Mile. (Turf) Moc 30000

#2 Maricopa County (5/1) – Going two sprints to a route, this gelding has run strong late pace figures. Turf Paradise trainer Bobbie Grissom is 26% with a +$2.21 ROI moving horses from dirt to turf this year.

Trachea Kick Tuesday: Parx Out – Turf Paradise In

The 4/1 Lock of the day bailed the Conductor out in the finale at Parx yesterday. No matter if he has 6 winners or a goose egg, the Conductor’s lock of the day continues to be the best bet in life. Parx is closed today due to inclement weather (weak), so the Conductor will keep the train in the station. Lol, what a silly statement that was, this train doesn’t stop. If there are ponies running, the Conductor will find them. Off to Turf Paradise we go! Let’s Ride.

#2 Bltzing Mario (5/1) – He caught a sloppy track last start, but the Conductor likes his early pace figures. He’s run 2^nd at this level twice and this group is weaker than normal.

#6 Perfect Majestic (10/1) – This old man has found his form and a repeat effort of his win last race would beat this field as well.

#5 Grand Palais (3/1) – Dropping in class and drawn to the outside of the speed, he should get a perfect pressing trip.

#1 Paco Suenos (9/2) – She gets back to her preferred grass surface today and has the highest numbers on the lawn in this group. She’s had bad trips in her last few.

#3 Justenuff Hope (5/2) – The Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion here. She’s best on paper.

#3 Offleeluckylady (8/1) – She’s dropping in class and should be up close or on the lead in a race without much pace or any good horses. She can scamper away.

#9 Koan (20/1) – #7 Jefazo (5/2) is the most likely winner, but this gelding is plunging in class and has the figures to make him competitive in here. Whenever he runs at this level, he usually hits the board.

#9 Tapete Claire (20/1) – Coming in from Gulfstream off a layoff, she’s drawn well to the outside for good connections and should get a good trip up close to the slowest pace imaginable.

No pick 6 glory yesterday, with a 50/1 slitting our gullets in race 1. I guess a quick death is better than an agonizing beat in the final leg. The Conductor’s single and lock of the day did win in the finale, so hopefully one of you passengers made a few bucks. We need a winning day in a big way. Back to Santa Anita, Let’s Ride.

#6 Papa Turf (3/1) – Drawn well to the outside, this old man is in good form and should sit a perfect trip.

#1 Temple Knights (4/1) – He ran incredibly fast early pace figures over a tiring Golden Gate surface last start. He’ll be sent from the rail and the Conductor will bet he won’t stop.

#6 Proper Drink (5/2) – The Conductor has kept it tight this week post football season. No stews so far, but a proper drink sounds soooooo good.

#3 Red Shelby (3/1) – 1^st off the claim for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, she’s done her best running going this distance on the turf.

Race 6: 1 Mile. MC 20000

#6 Tanker (10/1) – Going two sprints to a route for strong connections, this gelding has never tried this distance on dirt. This field stinks and he has figures early in his career to make him competitive.

Race 7: 6½ Furlongs. (Turf) F. G3 Sweet Life Stakes

#6 Ginger Nut (5/2) – She’s beaten fields of 18, 25, and 14 in three of her last four races in Europe. She’s working well at Santa Anita and the Euro’s seem to take to the hill.

Race 8: 7 Furlongs. G2 San Vicente Stakes

#3 Dessman (5/2) – The “other Baffert” runner in here won easily in his debut and is bred to be a good one. He’ll be a much higher price than #2 Coliseum (6/5), who was terrible in the Sham last start.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Animosity (12/1) – Dropping back to OC company for the first time in a long time, she’s won her lone start down the hill and was G2 placed in the summer. The Conductor loves that Rosario takes the mount.

Santa Anita: The Conductor Needs to Fix the Train

One 3/1 winner and three 2nds yesterday is not what the Conductor ordered. This week has been brutal, and us passengers won’t even be able to play the weekend without a big day today. The Conductor even laid off the stew last night to keep his mind right, and his capping tight. Santa Anita doesn’t stand a chance, Let’s Ride.

#3 Irish Polo (5/1) – Taking a big drop in class, his race two starts back was the fastest figure in this group. He also shortens a furlong and gets a weight break.

#2 Wind Tartare (5/1) – She ran ok at this level off the layoff last start and looks primed to take a big step forward. She also gets a major rider upgrade to Rosario today.

Race 3: 1 1/16 Mile. F.Clm 16000

*Never a Doubt Friday Night Bottle Service Lock of the Day #2 Mistressofthenight (9/5) – He’s working well, has the best figures and has a big pace advantage in a race without other speed. That’s a recipe for a party.

#3 Persepolis (3/1) – You don’t go off favorited at Keeneland for Chad Brown without having talent. She’ll be heavily backed by the Conductor.

#4 Lieutenant Dan (6/5) – Chalk, but the Conductor will take the free square.

Race 6: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 35000n3L

#6 Encumbered (3/1) – This gelding caught a sloppy track last start and will get back to his preferred grass surface today. He’s got the back class to get the job done.

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Full of Luck (15/1) – Making a massive cutback in distance, he’s run some decent races at the Grade 1 level. They are going to fly in front of him and Prat can sit back and make run. The Conductor will key him in the Santa Anita exacta in the small field.

#1 Posterize (8/1) – Going two sprints to a route, he has some turf in his pedigree and should save all the ground along the rail. This race is wide open.

#4 Lil Milo (5/1) – An impressive winner last start, he’s shown versatility winning on dirt and turf in his young career. The stretch out in distance wouldn’t be a problem.

#1 Victor’s Show (4/1) – He ran a good 4^th at this level off a layoff last start. He’s steadily progressing and Rafa is hot in the irons.

Race 3: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.MC 50000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Super Good (15/1) – She’s dropping to her lowest level off the layoff and showed talent early in her career. At a monster number, the Conductor will key her in the trifecta.

#1 Equal Measure (7/2) – This filly is going two sprints to a route and should get an uncontested lead. She can take them all the way around.

#8 Shaky Alibi (4/1) – This is a tough group, but the Conductor liked his last race best. Rosario has been money on the turf in California.

*Never a Doubt Ski Trip Lock of the Day #2 Secret Spice (5/2) – She became a different animal last year when she stretched out to a mile. In her last blow-out win she ran a very high figure.

#8 All I Can Say (9/2) – He takes a big drop in class at Santa Anita and that may be all it takes in this evenly matched group. Trainer Val Brinkerhoff is 4/12 with a +$1.47 ROI dropping horse 2+ class levels this year.

#1 Lil Sydney (8/1) – This colt didn’t do much running in his debut, but he adds blinkers, stretches out for the 1^st time, and Prat intriguingly hops aboard.

#8 Proquester (8/1) – Dropping in class and trying dirt for the first time, he’s the only one with a chance to beat the odds on favorite #7 Alpha Orionis (3/5).

*Gullet Shot of the Day #2 Clipboard Money (8/1) – 1^st off the layoff last start, he ran off setting a ridiculous pace and still finished 2^nd going a mile. The Conductor will key him in the exacta.

Race 3: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 16000n2L

#8 Irish Fix (2/1) – This mare had a brutal trip last start and ran a good 2^nd at this level. Drawn well to the outside, she’ll be tough.

#4 King Kongo (6/1) – In his first try on dirt last start he ran a good 3^rd vs similar. He’s run solid early pace figures in a race without much pace.

#3 Graysshootingstar (4/1) – 1^st time gelding for top connections, working well, and was well bet in his debut. There is nothing not to like.

*Never a Doubt Humpday Lock #6 Dezzer (2/1) – This colt’s recent workouts suggest his last race was a fluke. He also has a massive pace advantage over this group. He’ll gut them gate to wire.

#4 Overbold (10/1) – He didn’t run a step in his Gulfstream debut, but he adds blinkers today and Johnny stays aboard for Mott. He was 500k in the Keeneland sale, the Conductor will give him another shot at a big price.

#7 Ice Show (8/1) – She’s stepping up in class, but has shown versatility and has won 3 of her first 6 starts. The Irad/Vitali jockey/trainer combo are red hot, going 4-2-1 in their last 9 starts.

Race 9: 1 Mile. OC 25000n1x

#1 Botero (8/1) – This colt was very good in his maiden breaker at Gulfstream last start and they only improve for Mott 2^nd off the layoff. He debuted for the Baffert barn, so he’s meant to be a good one.

Race 10: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 16000n2L

*Atom Bomb Shot of the Day #4 Rumbago (30/1) – This field is heinous besides the 3/5 favorite #10 Unlockthepotential. This colt ran 3^rd at this level last start after setting a blistering pace. If he can ration his speed better, the Conductor has seen more looney bin longshots, he’ll key these two in the trifecta.
