Belmont Park: Key Horses for Saturday, July 10

Weather ruined Friday, but it looks like the stakes at Belmont Park should hold up today. The Ductor loves the prices on the menu. Let’s close out the meet in style. Skip.

Belmont Park Race 7: 1 1/4 Mile. (Inner Turf) F.-G1 Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes

#2 Cirona (12/1) – This shipper from France has been facing tougher competition and has been very consistent. She’s proven at the distance and over a soft surface. The Ductor is praying to the pony gods that her morning line holds up.

Race 8: 6½ Furlongs. F.G3 Victory Ride Stakes

*Gullet Shot of the Day #5 Souper Sensational (8/1) – This filly ran well last time stuck inside and up close to a quick pace. The Ductor likes that they keep her sprinting and she looks to get a beautiful stalking trip with a contested pace up. Add two bullet works entering today and the Ductor is salivating.

Race 9: 1 1/4 Mile. (Inner Turf) G1 Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes

#7 Tokyo Gold (15/1)#2 Bolshoi Ballet (7/5) lays over this field, but Aiden O’brien US shippers win at a dismal rate. The Conductor thinks this colt has the most upside coming in off a easy win over good going in Italy. The American runners are nothing special in here and he’s been running well vs tougher.
