Throat Shot Thursday: The Conductor’s Plays at Fair Grounds

A lot of 2nds yesterday at Gulfstream, not what the Conductor ordered.  He wants nothing more than to go back to Santa Anita, but it’s still licking its wounds from Monday and aren’t running to tomorrow.  Cowards.  The Conductor is feeling the Fair Grounds today, let’s find some prices, Let’s Ride.

Race 1: 6 Furlongs. F.S.Clm 5000n2L

 *Gullet Shot of the Day #2 Prime Patriot (5/1) – Dropping in class after running strong early pace figures vs open company last start, 5/1 would get the Conductor tingly inside.

Fair Grounds

Race 2: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Clm 30000

#5 Fun Paddy (4/1) – Dropping to this level for the 1st time last race, she moved early and wide into a hot pace and finished a good 3rd.  She’ll have every chance with a better trip.

Race 3: 6 Furlongs. MC 12500

#2 Baron of Bluegrass (4/1) – He’s lightly raced and shown good early speed against much tougher in his two career starts.  He’ll also get a fast dirt track for the 1st time.

Race 4: 1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 17500b

 #7 Chocolateicecream (8/1) – 1st off the claim last start, this gelding had a troubled trip and was only beaten 2 ¼ lengths at this level.  There is nothing to knock about his turf form.

Race 5: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 15000

*Never a Doubt New Pinkie Ring Lock of the Day #7 Dreaming Diamonds (7/2) – Drawn well to the outside, she won with ease last start and the 2nd place finisher in that race has come back to win.

Race 6: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Clm 15000b

#7 Glance (8/1) – 2nd off the claim for solid connections, this filly has shown ability and is working like she’s ready to fire.

Race 7: 1m70yds. OC 17500n1x

#2 Sailing Solo (8/1) – The Conductor liked his maiden breaker and he took money at the windows in his debut at Churchill Downs.  He’s working well and with a step forward he’ll have every chance.

Race 8: 1 Mile (Turf) MC 30000

#7 Noble Companion (7/2) – He just missed last start with a troubled trip.  2nd off the layoff for Brad Cox makes him ultra-trough.

Race 9: 1m70yds. Clm 5000b

#9 Point Hope (5/2) – This old man his a winner and in good form at Fair Grounds.
