The Conductor hit the first two races at Gulfstream yesterday and we thought we were in for another robbery.  Only one short priced winner after that wasn’t what we were looking for, but we’re still in a good spot heading into the racing weekend. Let’s Ride.

Gulfstream Park

Race 1: 7 ½ Furlongs. (Turf) Clm 16000n3L

#8 Kikinboy (7/2) – 1st off the claim for Navarro at Gulfstream? That’s an easy start to the card.

Race 2: 6 Furlongs. MC 50000

#5 Bronzed (7/2) – He’s steadily progressed over his first few starts and ran a solid 2nd behind Uncle Benny in his last race.  Uncle Benny almost won a Breeders’ Cup race last race.

Race 3: 1 Mile. F.Clm 6250

#9 Song of Melody (6/1) – Dropping in class, the Conductor has no idea why she ran such a dud last start.  However, she gets back to Gulfstream Park where she’s 5/7 lifetime and she’s beaten tougher handily in September.

Race 4: 1 Mile. Clm 12500

#5 Red Hot Randy (4/1) – Dueling and finishing a solid 2nd last start, he is steadily progressing and can turn the tables on his common rivals of the past today.

Race 5:  1 Mile. (Turf) MC 50000

#1 Gettinintomischief (8/1)#4 King Orb (9/5) is the horse to beat, but the Conductor likes this boys chances at a number.  You won’t see stronger late pace figures than his first 2 starts and the added distance and switch to turf should suit his running style.  Low % connections will keep his price high.

Race 6: 7 Furlongs. Alw 47000n1x

*Never a Doubt Friday Night Bottle Service Lock of the Day #7 Ercolano (7/2) – Pressing a scorching pace going a mile, this is an angle as old as time. Shortening in distance he’ll be tough to beat, he holds the fastest past figure in the field at 7 furlongs.

Gulfstream Park

Race 7: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 16000n2L

#11 Sold On Salsa (5/1) – She’s got serious early speed and should be able to clear from the outside.  There isn’t as much speed as you would expect in a 5-furlong sprint and the front will be very dangerous.

Race 8: 1 Mile. OC 625000

#5 Third Day (5/1) – Going a mile at Gulfstream Park two starts back he ran a gaudy number.  His comeback race last time should set him up perfectly for this race and he’s going to win this race.

Race 9: 7 ½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.Alw 47000n1x

*Gullet Shot of the Day #7 Riverside Walk (10/1) – Well bet at Keeneland in her 1st start in the states, she ran ok and that race came back very strong.  She’ll appreciate the added distance and is facing much softer competition today.

Gulfstream Park

Race 10: 6 Furlongs. Mdn 45k

#7 He’s Smoking Hot (9/2) – He ran a strong closing 2nd last 2 race and will appreciate the extra ½ furlong.  Paco is also hot in the irons.
