The Conductor is going to be honest he didn’t see much of the races yesterday as he was out having stews with his friends. But from what his bank account can tell, it didn’t look like we did so hot. Oh well, that’s why ponies run every day. Time to double down at Gulfstream Park, let’s ride.
Race 1: 5 Furlongs. F.MC 25000
#9 Spiced Rum Punch (5/1) – The Conductor doesn’t have a strong opinion in this race, but she has a big chance and he certainly loves his rum.
Race 2: 7 Furlongs. F.MC 35000
#5 Chic and Sexy (12/1) – She has the best early pace figures in the group and has been facing much tougher. The Conductor will key her in the exacta.
Race 3: 5½ Furlongs. Clm 6250n2L
#6 Jacks a Warrior (9/5) – His recent form has this field over a barrel.
Race 4: 7½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.MC 35000
#2 Long Story Short (5/1) – She took money in her debut vs much tougher at Belmont last star. She’ll be tough on the class drop for top connections.
Race 5: 1 Mile. F.Mdn 60k
*Gullet Shot of the Day#1 Talkthetalk (10/1) – She pressed a hot pace and ran a good 4th in her first try routing last start. She’s working well, and this field is ripe for the taking. She’ll walk the walk.
Race 6: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Clm 16000n2L
#2 Overzealous (8/1) – Eased in his last start, he returns to the track quickly and is working well. He’s faced tougher on the grass and has some dirt performances that can beat this field.
Race 7: 7½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.Mdn 47k
#1 Nasq (5/1) – 350k first time starter for Chad Brown. This filly will run.
Race 8: 6 Furlongs. Clm 6250
#9 Our Sarg (9/2) – He won two starts back at this level and loves Gulfstream Park. He’s working well, shortening a furlong and dropping in class.
Race 9: 1 Mile. (Turf) OC 62500n2x
#1 Dr. Edgar (4/1) – Just what the doctor ordered
Race 10: 7 Furlongs. F.OC 25000n1x
*Sunday Scary Preventer Lock of the Day #5 Princess Victoria (3/1) – Last time she ran on a fast dirt track at Gulfstream she put on a show. The Conductor will rely on Navarro.
Race 11: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) F.Mdn 60k
#2 Chasing Helicity (12/1) – She was well bet in her dirt debut and ran a very strong late pace figure after breaking slowly. She’s posting fast works and there is no reason she won’t like the grass.
