One 5/2 winner at Gulftstream yesterday and the train is officially leaking oil. Lesser men would keep the train in the station for a few, days, months, years even, but the Conductor never surrenders. We don’t want a big day, we officially need one. Let’s Ride.
PT 12:35pm ET Race 1: 1 Mile. Clm 25000
#5 Lucky Fast (8/1) – He broke his maiden on the dirt vs straight maidens last start and has faced tougher competition than this group on turf in most of his young career. He has a big chance at a nice number.
Race 2: 1 Mile. F.MC 12500
*Atom Bomb shot #4 Roses For Martina (15/1) – Going two sprints to a route and adding blinkers, she has upside and decent early speed in a race devoid of pace. She’ll get a good trip on or near the lead and that can be all it takes to beat this field.
Race 3: 1 Mile. Clm 30000n2L
*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Why God (10/1) – The Conductor is praying God keeps this gelding’s price high. He has a pace advantage over this group, has solid figures, and is steadily improving. He’s the Conductor’s best bet of the day.
Race 4: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 6250n2L
#1 Scorched Earth (7/2) – It was difficult for the Conductor to like anything in this gross field. This filly has shown consistency and good early speed, the rail has been the place to be at Gulfstream so far as well.
Race 5: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) Clm 16000n2L
#5 Task (5/2) – Dropping in class and his 2nd start off the layoff, he looks primed to run his best and his best will beat this field.
Race 6: 6 Furlongs. F.Mdn 60k
#4 Queen of Beas (6/1) – The Conductor loves this filly’s work tab and her dam has produced 6 winners from 7 starters, including a stakes winner. Trainer Jorge Abreau has a +$2.26 ROI this year debuting runners at this level.
Race 7: 1 Mile. (Turf) F.Clm 30000n3L
#7 Queen Rose (8/1) – She showed a thunderous late kick last start, closing into a slow pace to win easily. This field is similar to the last and she should get an even better setup today.
Race 8: 1 Mile. F.Clm 12500
#8 Galileo’s Affair (9/2) – They are going to fly up front in this race and she will get a perfect stalking trip. While the others are backing up, she’ll eat them up down the stretch.
Race 9: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.S. 16000n1x
*Never a Doubt New Jet Ski Lock of the Day #2 Salt Pond (3/1) – She ran a good 3rd pressing a hot pace on an off track last time and she gets back to turf today. Her win two starts back at Laurel buries this field. The Conductor can’t wait to skip, skip, skip over the waves.
Race 10: 5 Furlongs. (Turf) F.MC 25000
#5 Feature Creature (4/1) – She pressed a hot pace vs tougher last start and she’s done her best running at today’s distance.
