A bunch of 2nds and 3rds yesterday at some decent prices made the day salvageable, but not what the Conductor or his passengers are looking for. We want winners! However, some nice prices jumped of the page to the Conductor this morning, so we may be in for a treat. Let’s make more money this weekend then we made at work this week, Let’s Ride.
Race 1: 6½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.Clm 40000
#7 Easy Grader (5/1) – She’s taking a big drop in class and should improve in her 2nd start off a layoff. She has a win and a 3rd in two starts vs much tougher down the hill.
Race 2: 6 Furlongs. OC 80000n1x
*Never a Doubt Ski Trip Lock of the Day Savagery (8/5) – This colt has blazing speed and has been facing stakes company. He’ll appreciate the class relief and cutback to a sprint.
Race 3: 7 Furlongs. MC 30000
#3 Sterling’s Temple (8/1) – He’ll step forward in his 2nd start off a layoff and 2nd off the claim trainer Genaro Vallejo. He just missed vs similar three starts back and a repeat effort would give him every chance today.
Race 4: 6½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.Mdn 55k
#7 Hollywood Girl (5/1) – The Conductor doesn’t like the runners with experience in here and this girl was $875k at auction and Mike Smith hops aboard for her debut. This filly will run.
Race 5: 1 Mile. Clm 12500
*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Carville (8/1) – He’s got the best early speed in a race devoid of pace. This gelding also has the best figures at the distance and last time he was dropped to this class level he won.
Race 6: 6½ Furlongs. (Turf) F.G3 Las Cienegas Stakes
#4 Belvoir Bay (5/2) – She’s 4/5 down the hill and has beaten tougher graded stakes fields. The Conductor can’t play against her.
Race 7: 6 Furlongs. Clm 12500n2L
#11 Impetu (4/1) – This gelding is trying dirt for the first time and is working like he loves it. He’s dropping in class and has very strong early gas.
Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. F.G3 La Canada Stakes
#7 K P Wildcat (4/1) – She’s now in the Jeff Mullins barn after beating up on the competition in New Mexico. She loves to win and has the best figures in the field at the distance. She can handle this group.
Race 9: 6½ Furlongs. (Turf) Clm 25000
#9 Placido (4/1) – Exiting a nice win on dirt, he’s steadily progressing and has run two solid races over this turf course, including a victory. The Conductor sees him as the one to beat.
